@BlazeChia1993 : Your sound is actually pretty good. Some ideas: get a better flute (learn how to blame your instrument) - a gold-plated Yamaha 674 at $3,500 should do it. Face the stand on an angle - your left elbow towards the stand (get more air that way). Stand up straight - don't bend over to the music. Don't move so much. Pronounce "Oh" when breathing in (get more air) - watch Pahud. Practice slow pieces with long tones. Practice in a more echo-ey room (or add reverb to recordings).
@jazzflutist Hey =D !!!!! Thx for ur advise ..... i used to put the blame on my instrument last time but now i hv serviced it so i can't do it anymore LOL .... but putting the elbow towards the stand hurts T.T ... I'll try them ^^
@BlazeChia1993 : More expensive flutes feel more "springy" under the fingers - you can do amazing things on chromatic scales. But, do as much as you can on the cheaper flute. I really meant - don't face the stand straight-on, like reading a book. Give your body a twist like a karate guy and put your left foot to the stand, blow over your left shoulder (so to speak). Try also blowing air down the flute (to the right) inside of to the left = bouncing air off the crown of the headj't.

@Tsunamee36 try playing the galway method your bottom lip should cover almost half the flute tone hole and roll in this is explain in his technique master class which you can watch on youtube
is it just me or do i hear him breath a little often at some parts? nonetheless this is just amazingly beautiful, more breathing than usual or not (probably not as he is a professional master and i am...well i am very musically challenged compare 2 him)
This is some real gay flute music if I ever heard it

Is circular breathing impossible on a flute? I don't mean to criticize but each breath is very noticeable.
svxcrunner01 5 months ago
@svxcrunner01 It's not impossible, but it's difficult at the tempo he's playing.
