That Lt Bergman (guy on left at 12:58)--is really slack on discipline. He didn't bother to salute the higher ranking officer as the others did. He's also outside without a hat--a big no-no, his hair is way too long.
Great war movie, right out of the comic book genre, reminds me of "Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandoes". The flyer with the hook bit was ripped off and used in "Flyboys".
This is a great action movie. I first saw it when I was like 13 or 14 years old and loved it ever since. It also possesses quite a magnificent soundtrack on cd which I own as well as the movie. It was very tragic what happened to Lietanant Bergman while he was in captivity by the Germans as well as Grant having to tell his sister that he personally killed him by bombing the building he was in to stop their interrogation of him. They used to show this film on tv a lot when I was younger.
After they ambushed the German car, they run towards the plane but instead of the one agent running to the aft section straightaway, they first run IN FRONT of the plane, then shake hands, then he gets in.
This doesn't make any sense! If you're in a hurry take the shortest route instead of running around. Or was the filmcrew in the way on the other side?
No, I'm just sick of the fact I wasted my time watching this rubbish. I have not examined it in detail, I just like to see decent, realistic warmovies with realistic scenes and the one I described was after viewing it once...
BTW, the "Shermans" (trucks in fact) in "Die Brücke" looked way better than that "armored car" in this movie.
Hm? You mean you've never seen any GOOD warmovies? The British warmovies during the late sixties were utter shite! The young Lucas just liked all the phoney cheaply made action stuff and then he blended it and distilled it into a great movie. But some of its inspirational sources were not as inspired themselves.
I suggest you go watch "The Bridge At Remagen" to see what a decent warmovie looks like.

Totally over the top in every way but fun fun fun!
Some of the worst miniature work ever seen on film but who doesn't like this movie!
Who can go wrong with a rousing score by Ron Goodwin!
