  • >"i suspect this player had some light strings or really strong fingers"

    >"i suspect this player"

    >"this player"

you know who's song this is right??? its not just "some person." great vid and playing but really.......

  • you're a good teacher man.

  • fantastic, thank you! very very helpful.

  • I learn from repetative observation so this video is prefect! Thanks!

  • wow i was trying to find which pentatonic to use forever thanks man!

  • thank you explication was great

  • check out my guitar cover of this song.

  • 1:00 david gilmour is just a badass.... nuff said

  • Oh man, you don't know you're david gilmour if you think he needed "lighter strings" etc... That guy could bend an iron bar...

  • Thank you man!! Great lesson!

  • thank u so much.. you made my day

  • watch David Gilmore unpluged!

  • thanks please keep em coming, nice to follow

  • i cant get the second part to it i dont know what im doing wrong

  • esto es la intro -.-

  • nice tutorial..best one out there

  • Thank you very much :)

  • this is so accurate. now i can play the woish yuo were here solo

  • thanks dude

  • thanks dude this is the only video on youtube that actually thouroughly explains this part

  • David Gilmour plays 3 solos in concert for this song. Can anybody find me the other 2 solos for this song. BTW, in concert, those bends you show on the G string are actually slides. Either way works: the slides are way louder but the bends sound slightly better.

  • this is my prefer song of D.G. i got it. so much cool. thx so so so much.

  • thank you very very much you are very gentle making this video i always wanted to see the real tab! thank you very much!

  • thanks! great lesson! \

i have just one problem=\ my strings are new and i can't pull them up like you did

  • @ARIELSHTERN I have electric guitar strings on my acoustic so I can bend.

  • @GuitarMusicTheoryTab Thats bad, Electric guitar strings are very light and your acoustics neck is built for high tension, eventually your acoustics neck will warp concave.

  • @ARIELSHTERN dont even bother with this idiot he is not playing it right

  • this helped a lot, thanks!!!!!

  • you are best it-guitar teacher.congratulations

  • the best!

  • oh my god! thank you. ahahha i could NOT figure out those 3 and 4th figures on my own!

  • 12 string guitar mate!

  • You rock! Thanks!

  • damnit youtube!

Why the hell can't I pause or fast forward or rewind?

  • "this player" was eric clapton

  • thank you so much

ive been playing this solo wrong for a couple months now and just needed to know some of the little touches on the notes and this helped so much

    great lesson

  • Thank you so much for this walk through, I'm just starting out with guitar and it was really helpful, very nicely paced.

  • thank you for lesson guitar Mr \m/

  • he wasnt using an acoustic 6-string it was a 12-string

  • the bends are not to hard on a classical guitar

  • On the bends . . . Gimour uses an unwound G string, making it easier. Although I suspect he's been doing this for so long it wouldn't matter to him.

  • way too fucking fast

  • No, Thats a full bend he does on non-electric strings! Strong fingers! It's such a hard bend that on the album, if you listen close, the guitar that plays the solo intro ends before the G chord is strummed at the end of the intro and a new track is started there. This is to ensure the guitar is in tune for the rest of the song. Thats why when he does it live, he slides it and doesn't bend it.

  • There's a video of them playing live, and you can tell this is wrong.

  • hey, very cool. but I guess, what you explain at 4:25 is wrong. the original sounds like c# instead of h. like -> ci# d e c# a .. so, if you agree, would you play the c# then on the 2nd or the 3rd string?

  • @silkedenise the note is c#, but it is achieved by bending 3rd string 4th fret b. On the vid, he is just overbending slightly at that point so it sounds a bit d-ish. Yeah the guy on the original song makes it sound so easy, but this was a good tutorial, the best I've found. I hope nobody gets struck by lightning for suggesting that DG needed light strings to get any kind of bend lol.

  • i tell what, that solo is no joke. those bends are crazy.

  • Thank you sooooooooooooooo much!! all the tabs I found were just stupid and i couldnt figure it out and i dont usually use videos but this one reallllllllllllllllly helped me, thank you thank you thank you.

  • LOOK AT THAT GUY! This is how a guitar lesson has to look like.

  • at 3:50 you didnt even explaine how to do that

  • @imthecooliestin its like the beggining but instead of just G2nd string to 4th string and then B 3rd string IS: G2nd string slide to G4th string - B3rd string - G4th string - B5th string... hope you got it

  • man those bends are tough

that guitarist was amazing to do that on acoustic

  • @ChicagoEnoughSaid I have light, electric gauge strings on my acoustic. I suspect the same is true for the recording.

  • @GuitarMusicTheoryTab

ima go buy me some light gauge right now

    keep the lessons man

    it is appreciated

  • @GuitarMusicTheoryTab , was a 12 string guitar mate!

  • @GuitarMusicTheoryTab Again the true recording was played using 9 gauge acoustic strings ( My father worked with pink floyd as a security guard )

  • @ChicagoEnoughSaid dude, David Gilmour is the guitarist of the gods. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he did those bends with heavier acoustic strings hahaha

  • lol god did i find out the thing he said about bend on acoustics was true lol i messed up the nerves in my finger tips tryin to do it lmao

  • i thort that this was the bridge of the song

  • I search on youtube since 30 minutes, I didnt found the solo #2.........

Do you know how to play it??? If Yes Can you make a video of it, would be so great, or if you have the Tab or the notes of it, could you send me thats????

    Thanks for Answers......... :)

Oh btw, I lear this solo a long time ago, by your video, Thanks man, great lesson!

  • @allanjoshuaf Sorry, I don't have the second solo.

  • @allanjoshuaf I have being looking for it for ages...driving me insane!

  • my god.... you just referred to david gilmore as "this guitar player at 1:00"... i immediately stopped, commented and left this video in shame...

  • you to fakkin quick after half the clip...

  • Hey thanks for the video! do you have the second solo?

  • thanks a lot man... i already knew the solo except i wasn't totally sure about the pre-bend and wanted to make sure i was doing it correctly.. you helped me a lot

  • great little lesson!

  • Finally, someone who knows how to teach. Nice job.

  • By far the best version/demonstration on here. Great sound too, gotta love the line 6!

  • thank you,man.but next time little slower.if u can..

  • when you start with the ending you suck, but before that you are good! take it more slowly after you say next!:P

  • thanks!

  • I appreciate the time you have taken to put this lesson up on youtube and I thank you for that but you seem to rush the second part of the lesson. Thanks though for the time taken

  • i keep 10 gauges on my acoustic so i can bend easily. i like light strings b/c theres a lot of bending in my improv style

  • Can you post the TABS please...I registered for the book preview, nothing happens.Much appreciate if you post tabs...!....and you play nicely!

  • @sachin101178 Can't post links here. Send me a message.

  • those pinch harmonics ruined the lesson...good leson tho

  • Thanks man. You really helped me out today.

  • Personaly i dont think it could hav been taught to me better thanks man! sounded good easy to follow thorough in description of what to do and how to do it i enjoyed this vids technique of teaching very much - thanku thanku thanku

  • your'e an excellent teacher

  • for some reason it just doesnt sound a 100 percent

  • Because of you I now ca play one of my favorite song. Thank you

  • yea i´s good

  • thank you mystro

we all owe this one to you.

    thanks for teaching

  • It was an acoustic and yes u can bend standard strings on an acoustic like they did in PF. Don't understand the statements you make. It is very well known that there was 12 string on rhythm and 6 string acoustic on lead. Same as I saw them live. Acoustic does not do as many pull offs, but play the notes and use open strings where possible vs. fretted. Just my 2cents.

  • just doesnt sound the same on eletric. good video though.

  • i cant bend for shit

  • you are amazing!!!!!!!!!thank you!!!!!!!!!!

  • mucho gusto profesor ...

    : )

  • thank you! good video

  • good teacher ....

  • thanks man,, great teacher,, keep up the videos, your awesome! :)

  • thank you

  • Hey great vid. Now what ya mean about the stings. Had to use my hollowbody electric,

my strings are lighter on that.

  • THANK YOU !!!

  • very good teaching there sir...much appreciated!!

  • great demo, thanks man.

  • very good teacher, thanks

  • love the song but this irtro is my favorite part thankx great work

  • Thanks Buddy its really helpful.

  • My fingers are so sore now, but it's a great lesson, thanks.

  • what kind of amp and pedal is he using.

  • Line 6 Variax acoustic 12-string setting.

  • Sorry, that's for the rhythm guitar. This solo uses a regular 6-string acoustic setting. I use light strings so I can bend.

  • you rock!

  • the bends at 4:00... my strings don't bend that far, seriously... :(

  • To bend on an acoustic you must use very light strings. My guitar has .10 gauge electric strings.

  • thanks a lot man!

got everything down exept the solo

    now i got that to

    :)

  • this was easy 5 star

  • this was really easy,goodjob!

  • great teacher learned it in a week

  • Amazing lesson .. although a little fast .. but i m determined to learn this solo. I am going to practice this lesson day and night till i perfect the technique.

  • a VERY GOOD job man!! 5 stars =)

  • where is the tab?

  • too complicated for me im a simple minded rhythm guitarist imma stick to that..lol

  • sooo , sooo you think you can tell , heaven from hell ,

  • Good i was getting confused at the end but im getting it

  • Great lesson. Thanks.

  • great lesson. great technique. thanks for showing your left hand so well. i'm pretty sure you're playing a larrivee, which model is it?

  • I'm playing a Line 6 Variax acoustic.

  • maybe the player used a 12 string for wish u were here so he could bend the string? anyway, i like the close up of the strings..

  • this was my fathers favorite song and he passed on, and this song helps me remember him so thank you for you help and now i can play it. this video helps a lot. many thanks.

  • realy thankz i play this song all thay gogogo to more song

  • This guy is the best instructor on the inter net. The only thing that could make it better would be subtitles or chord charts that illustrate the technique he's explaining at the time displayed on the bottom of the screen.

  • Thanks i really want to play this ong greate!

  • Grayson is a dumbass.you rock.thanks

  • Comment removed

  • Judging by other comments, this video seems to do a great job of explaining things. And there's even tab available if you read the video description. Who's the idiot?

  • i swear he explains it after he plays it. if u didn't like it dont bother complaining and move on. good job man

  • thas a guitar electric or classic?

  • Line 6 Variax acoustic.

  • THANKS!!!!!!

  • great video!

  • Excellent video.

  • Great demo - complex piece! :-)

  • ya those tacos killed us, is was the dumb lettuce!

  • Muito obrigado, meu amigo.

  • david gilmour can bend everything

  • David Gilmour is the walrus. He is the true god of the guitar. To steal a quote, he can play that guitar like he's ringing a bell.

  • muchas gracias por el tutorial me sirvio muxoo muxoo en akustika suena = filete:P

  • "especially when your this close the the nut"!?!!?!?!?!? hahhahahahaha nut 1:08

  • especially when the the g string is that close to the nut! bwahahaha XD

  • It's gonna be relly tough to bend that g string when it's that close to the nut.

  • hahaha, nice:D

  • Thank you for this very informative video.

  • thank you and great job

  • Played on a 4 string an octave lower one must alter the fingering as strings are tuned differently and do not bend in the same fashion. It is simply adaptation and interpretation...

  • YOU'RE GOOD! YES! YOU'RE GOOD! XD

  • soo much thx for this video !!

  • Picked my 1st guitar up at xmas so my fingers are fked off learning this song lol not to mention my strigs, Especially my G string. On the 4th fret its all ov a sudden worn right down and looks like its ready to snap just off this song??? Gilmour terminator fingers is wot i need

BTW thanks for this vid..... shud get years of plesure from it 5 stars

  • great vid, learned easily, thanks man !!!

    keep on uploading hot stuff!!!

  • I was really wondering how the hell he got that extra note off the bends... a pull off! of course! Bah.

May I ask how you find it so easy to bend your strings? The tension on my acoustic is going to snap my fingers off soon lol

  • Use lighter strings. I have 10 gauge electric strings on this acoustic-electric guitar.

  • this is awesome i've only been playing guitar for 6 months now and i've got this whole song down!
