  • Try it again with a Denon DN-s3700!!!

  • AUTOCUE IS ON

  • OMG less talking more demonstrating.......srsly

  • Not sure if it is the audio lagging behind your video or what but it appears as though there is a moment of hesitation between the time you release the platter and the moment sound is heard.

  • Awesome tips. But the song is so annoying!

  • My Reloop RMP-2b MK2b then behaves like a real turntable, since it dosen't turn back to any cue point.

My advice to people is, if you want a setup where you dosen't want to bring a computer to use your vinyl system/dj controller purchase a pair of reloop RMP CDJ's, they are after my opinion the best to scratch on. I think that Pioneers jog wheel feels rubbish, whic is a shame since all other components of Pioneers cdj's work :)

  • Anyone recommend a GOOD cdj set, any price? ;o thanks bros

  • @hVL94

well mostly it depends on your budget and how much you want to do this.

If you have the money and are 100% sure that you'll want to do this then i'll suggest 2X Pioneer CDJ 900 and a DJM 800 mixer (or perhaps the nexus)

Though this setup is pretty expensive, but i'll diffently last very long.

I myself want 2x Reloop RMP 3 Alpha and a IQ2+ USB Midi mixer.

  • @DJNerax Thank you :D

  • Really informative, thanks

  • ahhhh this is music, i thought you destroyed it ^^

  • I just found answer to my question. We have Pioneer's CDJ on work and I have thinking, if i'm starting work about dj and scratch things. Thanks about your videos! :)

  • Technics 1200 is better for scratching. Pioneer cdj is only for the mix

  • hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! vinyl all the way aha

  • @ellaskins YOU TOTALLY RULE DUDE !!!!

  • i wish i had vinyl..... :(

  • give it about 5 yrs and they will be as good (if not better) but i still prefer the vinyl its nicer audio quality!

  • I think at the start when it goes back its because it's cue'd.

  • ur right,they're not

  • mp3 ftw

  • vinyl never dies!

  • I love vinyl, cds, and mp3s

  • erhm.. is this a video learning us how to use the CDJ-800?

  • cd sucks ... vinyl rocks !

  • Now they are alright to scratch

  • youtube.com/watch?v=R8237NJ4qQI

Can you scratch such this man?

  • Good Opinions.

  • very basic comments

  • idk why dis guy reminds me of like a crazy scientist genius guy (x

  • what are your turntables *above* called?

  • @moneymakr23 He says it in the video. It's a CDJ 800 MKII

  • Please can anyone help me. I have a stanton c.324 turntable (cdj) and the vinyl mode randomly changed one day when a track is playing and i set to vinyl mode then scratch and take my hand off again the record does not continue to play, until i press the vinyl mode button off. Has anyone had this issue? And also my other c.324 turntable has completely stopped working, so anyone considering stanton, i would not recommend.

  • @inspiredbyshikari try updating your software i personally have the version below the stanton c314s and have never had a problem with them

  • very informative thank you

  • holy shit this guy looks like hes gona kill somebody

  • Question: Does the CDJ "platter" MOVE while the track is playing, just like a vinyl turntable? Or is it just standing still and you can move it back and forth?

  • @pwntheddrmachine Some do like the Numark NS& for example. However, the CDJ series do not.

  • Is it possible to have a vinyl and cd turntable at the same time?

  • what i noticed scratching with a CDJ is that you have less space to play with compared to the vinyl, there isnt a real noticeable lag a CDJ. but, I would prefer to get CDJs if im a mobile dj, vinyls are more for house use or in a club.

  • On your video was timer counting backwards I can't really tell cause it looks a lil blurry?t

  • thumbs up if u love vinyl

  • @finkbeatz hellyes,, mp3 only releases can fuck off

  • we all can but that is not the real art of dj that is technology love vynil!!!!

  • better use denon 3700s or midi numark v7 :D pioneers are good to hause, techno - and for sure not for scratching - maybe just quick cuts ...

  • Im a guy starting up as a Dj and may say i have learnt so much from ellaskins, i now feel 500 X more confident about becoming a dj, it's people like him that help people like me who live small towns and does have a tutor! Ellaskins you are a legend in my book! thank you!

  • What was the song that you were playing with in this video?

  • I really enjoy all of your videos. they have helped me alot. thx!

  • get a dn-s3700 and tell me if cdj's are as good

  • is it cheaper to buy cdjs or technics or turntables

  • @Qflick depends on what djs u get

  • @Qflick depends on what cdjs you get

  • @MrNicknames123 i dont know much about the cdj side of things can u tell me what a good ones are, maybe around the 1500 dollar mark for each or just under?

  • @Qflick cdj800 mk2 ~ roughly 450$ per used.

  • HOW THE # DO YOU HAVE SOOO MUTCH CDJ's AND MIXERS ETC!!??

  • @14HACK3R dude... thats exactly what i was thinking!

  • How come the level indicators on the mixer aren't lighting up ?

  • @cristian3131 probably not set up right, hes looks like a mess anyways...

  • time codes ftw

  • bulshit!

  • @cheechwizzard101 if you had taken the time to browse his channel you would have noted that:

1.- He most probably scratches at least 10 times better than you

2.- He has real turntables, some technics 1200

This is an informative video, not a show off video, now when you have 2839 DJ videos uploaded by you come here and tell him that again.

  • @skam1 Cool story bro

  • @dskmale Yes, very good.

  • @cheechwizzard101 he's way better than you that's for sure

  • Comment removed

  • @AgentDaNgeR11 Sorry that is some of the worse scratching i've heard

  • @cheechwizzard101 well now? YES! but i don't think he tried just to show tht u can scratch

  • @cheechwizzard101 you sir need to watch his channel, this is just a video on a cdj and the options...

  • @TheLozerPwner what do you think he's dj qbert or rectangle? please, it's wack.. lol..

  • @cheechwizzard101 uhmmm this video is not about showing he can scratch the best, he isn't even trying to scratch good. this is about the question if you can scratch on a CDJ module

  • :-DDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • your moaning about features u can change u dooshh cdjs r the way forward

  • wack

  • you talk too much. get to the point

  • @phambobby die gook

  • @phambobby dont dis!

  • i think vinyl sounds more original sometimes I hate new technologies :)

i love the old school vinyl and i think we have to keep it alive

  • whats the best cheepest deck for a begginer?

  • @ShredderChris Gemini cdj 203

  • vinyl is way better

  • I have a question for you... can you scratch...?

  • Ns7 isn't a turntable, idiot.

  • That was pretty good it's dj blend her the reall dj blend not the fake homosexual I'm the one on you tube warring the chucky mask ok any way if u wanna have a great sound preforming turn table get the ns7 they are legit

  • omg the cdj100mk? i wanna buy it online but i dont no where they can send these to mexico.....AWSOME i love scratch

  • hey does anyone know if you can scratch with a cdj 100 or 200???

  • @samsta4eva11 u cant scratch on a cdj 100 but on the 200 its fine.

however, buy traktor duo and 2 turntables if you ask me..and a mixer of course.

  • @mange96 you can't scratch on a 200 either.

  • @poonisrtd uhm yes you can? however, its not even close to the vinyl feel...

  • @mange96 Their is no vinyl mode on cdj 200 therefore there is no scratching the jog wheel is not for scratching. The lowest model cdj is now the cdj 350. Trust me!

  • @poonisrtd *lowest model with scratching! sorry.

  • Comment removed

  • @poonisrtd oh my sorry seems like i was wrong.... my bad :D

  • He's speaking 1 Syllabe a minute.

  • Not the same man

  • nah bruh, not "exactly the same" at all....

  • HELP ! xD

is scraching with CDJ's exactly the same method as with turtables ?

    (except in pause mode)

  • aye is there anyway you can connect a cdj in a box or the ndx-200 to a laptop?? and can you use your ipod to play your music or you just have to play your music with cd's?? plzz help..

  • @xxdeathlove1xx you can use timecodes and use whatever music you have on your pc on your ndx-200 using software such as traktor, serato,or virtual dj

  • @DJLongLastin where can i get the timecode?

  • This goes out to anyone who knows. How much does this CDJ cost? Where can I get it from?

  • @AlSirrom1 i just bought one, second hand for £400

and saw a new one for £800

  • @AlSirrom1 There are many places to look on the net but try out Guitar Center amd branch out.

  • what track are you using?

  • can you scratch your balls with a broken bottle?

  • YOUTUBE-DORA THE EXPLORER METRO

  • sure

  • What some of you guys don't understand is that this isn't showing off some "maadzzz scrachin' skiiilllzzzz", it's just a demonstration! Take note that J isn't a turntablist as he have said in his other videos about scratching!

  • no offense, but that scratch sounded like crap, both the scratch technique and the sound of the scratch.

  • dude you suck u cant scrach with a cdj it sounds like crap and you suck

  • ArBiTeR0000Tactical LOL

  • you look like you scratching with fucking deejayhero on your fucking 360

I wonder what hiphop and rap scratch artists really think of that shit !?

  • they aren't. u can't get the sound of a real scratch and can't do 75% of the tricks / scratches a record can do. there are a lot of scratches, like 300 kinds u r really good like q-bert who is the creator of most scratch techniques that r really complex.

  • id rather watch Britney spears Breastfeeding....

  • Still prefer vinyls for scratching, though reloop's CDJ are pretty okay for scratching big jog wheel, precise like hell, and very solid)

    DJ Nerax

  • really annoying

  • So this video should really be called, I'll show you how scratching works on a cdj in a really annoying and confusing way. Fail.

  • Question for you..???

Can you scratch MP3s..??? I really want turntables but only want MP3's as my main music with a few vinyls.. Can you scratch with a USB turntable using mp3s are your music.. helllp..

    Thanks mate..

    James

  • @jam13es YES!

  • @jam13es yes you can. but thats way to easy.. stick with scratching with records. dont go with mp3's, laptops, b a true dj like me,

  • hi... where i can download scratch samples.. some track name? to easy for begginerS?

  • woo meinl cymbal in the background :L

  • I like the way concepts are explained in your videos.

I would be glad if you could post a video on midi controller devices like Hercules on the Virtual DJ platform

    Kind regards

  • whats the song that you used??? for the first track?

  • it jus doesn't sound the same to me, i want vinyls now..i have numark cdj's but i feel if i learn how to use vinyl i'll be complete since i know how to do everything else

  • Try the V7 by Numark, best scratching without vinyl ive ever experienced

  • how much is the CDJ ????

  • I use TT-m1's ;)

  • Im a new started dj here. can u give me som tips about Dj mixers and turn tables?

  • thank you

  • I wanna become a DJ and im getting turntables soon which is better for a beginner vinyls or cdj?

  • schlecht

  • scratching on these doesnt sound anywhere near as good as vinyls

  • @nightshadetheexorcis true, true. Only CD's dont skip like needles do :p

  • @audioh0lic ahhhh very true sir. ill take better sound and occasional skip over a perfect shitty sound any day tho xD

  • @nightshadetheexorcis i agree, ,

  • @nightshadetheexorcis scratching anoys me

  • Technics are the best vinyl turntables and Pioneer make the best CD turntables. But nowadays if you get vinyl turntables you need Serato.

  • @djmichaelblain no dude you dont need serato just a shitload of vinyl of your choice

  • i have virtual dj and a soundcard , but i dont know how to set it up with CDJs, Anyone know how?!!?!

  • yo will need a time coad u can get from the website

  • so with that i burn the time code on cds?

  • @PocketHercules99 u need time code cds, an audio interface and REAL dj software. Traktor Pro atleast.

  • thanks for the help ! i have a u control audio interface , so with that , correct me if im wrong , burn the time code cds off virtual dj website and put them into the cdjs? From there i should have succes when i adjust my settings in virtual DJ??

Thanks ! im spinning tommorow night so it be cool if i could try this out

  • it doesnt really matter what style of music your going to play.. but pioneer for cdj's or technics if you want vinyl turntables :)

  • Pioneer FTW!!

  • what are some good, cheap softwares to use with turntables? i have a mac with garageband but i heard it wasnt a good choice to use for recording

  • virtual dj. search youtube how to get it for free.

  • @MarkyMan737 Use cool edit pro Or Pro tools

  • any turntables are as good as any other for a particular genre to be honest... you could mix any genre on Pioneer CDJ1000s for example, and you could mix any genre on vinyl turntables as well, it totally depends on your budget. Just get the best ones you can afford.

  • pioneer cdj's if you can afford them. just got a pair of 800's last week.

  • yea i have cdx but i thing buying the one he has and the mixer one cdx and the one he has i think its a good mach for house music and sraching.

  • im a beginer and i got the gemini cdj20 really long time ago and i was wondering can u with scratch with gemini cdj20 and does the gemini cdj20 have a stuttering effect and can u make it have the stuttering effect while scratching it? if u could show me how to do that i appreciate alot thankx

  • Is there not a delay when he was bringing it back?

  • keep vinyl alive!!

  • @DJPhiLAm

    this is what i do

and everybody should do.. in my opinion ;P

  • Hi everyone, I just started to learn to be a DJ. I bought CDDEX cd/mp3 turntables for a start. Can someone pls tell me what sound should I use to scratch on those turntables? Any reply would be much appreciated. :D

  • exact as a vinyl turntable..

but without the spirit of the oldschool

  • im thinking about getting a vinyl turntable but im not sure about the amount of modern day music i will be able to get on vinyl, any help ??

  • if you find the right record store you can find just about any bands album that they released on CD as a LPx2 as well

    also EP's they've released

i would go for the vinyl turntables but also note that making a collection of vinyls will be more expensive then collecting CD's

  • @joshknight13 if you know where to shop this isn't a problem. most music believe it or not is printed on vinyl.

  • Comment removed

  • check juno for the latest vinyl

  • Amazon is great, I've found just about every band and album on amazon on CD and vinyl.

  • go out and get a external hard drive and save all of your music to it and save it to scratch live, if you have it, then go out and just buy the scratch live vinyl

  • @joshknight13

I recommend the Numark CDX, i have one, it's PERFECT. I had that same issue. It was solved by getting the CDX.

  • this guy has the best frickin dj vids on the internet !!!!

  • Stop hating on evolution! Shift happens and people are rocking out on cdjs. Search for "7min cdj scratch set" and you will see someone working these thangs out, lol. This is just a slow a** function video, so don't judge by this. Real talk!

  • Nice Meinl!
