  • @Jeremylmp Yeah man it's just you.

  • Thank you so much. I love Ms Hahn's use of oboe timbre in the gigue. Wonderful. Kevin

  • Has anyone had the following happen?.......While I was watching a video a pop up came on and instructed to sign in again. After signing in again a box came up that proclaimed that I had just linked my channel account to my Google account and that my password for the channel was no longer valid and I would have to use my Google password from now on.

  • Yes, different violin, not her Villaume. Yet her characteristic splendid bowing shows through. Thanks.

  • My hunch is maybe her violin is at the shop? Anytime you go to texas prepare for your violin to fall apart - the top of mine started to unravel after I took mine to some humid places the last few months.

  • @masael255 i noticed that too.

  • @jeremylmp i think it might be the studio she's playing in? Her bach is usually conseravtive but very musical. I also notice she is moving a lot more than usual. Maybe she's tired.

  • Is it just me or is she kinda of stiff and not very expressive? Just my personal opinion.

  • @JeremyImp ARE JUST U

  • @JeremyImp Well, really? You can't criticize her

  • excelente violinista y que comienzo bach tocado con alma muchas gracias por subir este video

  • is that hilary's 'usual' violin?

  • idk

  • @shrew960

  • @HINTZEE7 It doesn't look like it, does it? The varnish is very red and new for a 16th/17th century violin.

  • anyone know what new recordings of her we can look forward to? I would love to hear her to Nielsen and maybe Shostakovich 2

  • I love her Bach...

  • She's good but slightly over-rated. Excellent technique but not very good feel. ;)

  • @freqtrav You shouldn't blame Hilary (the artist) for what other people do. She has no control over the lines for the CD signings, that would be the staff of the venue in which it is being held. Regardless of what you think, same goes for the Ochestra. The artist directors are the ones who handle "security" (as you call it) not the artist.

I have met, and even worked with Hilary several times in the past and she isnot what you accuse her of.

    Ciao

  • @KevyKooKoo I met her as well about 10 times and talked to her sometimes longer when nobody was there. A friend of me did a longer performance tour with her. I wrote in my comment she is a nice and friendly person! I didn´t blame her what has happened in Dallas (she couldn´t observe it) but she should know it because it made a lot of irritation and it was her own signing . She is an adult, not a child, the famous artist and she should have the power to order what will happen during her signing.

  • @freqtrav Wait, was her violin stolen? Sorry, I don't keep up with the times as much as I should.

  • @HahnPotterishFowlnut Don't think so, I'm sure its violincase would have mentioned it... ;-)  -> twitter,com/violincase

Perhaps it's been to the luthier for maintenance. Such things can happen. ;-)

  • Buying tickets I missed foreign countries in the dropdown menu which do not exist in the head of TX people. Feeling of being in an airport with first+coach: 2 lines for signing, people who bought an expensive CD + students just wanted signing their sheet music. 2nd line not opened before all CD buyers get their autograph, the younger people missed mostly the second part of the performance. Rude staff. Never go back there. Been as well to OH and PA for performances which brought a better feeling.

  • @freqtrav I think you just like to complain about everything... :o I'm sorry your life sucks so bad :o

  • @KevyKooKoo If your only argument is to affront people who criticize your sacred Hilary ...

By the way: my life is very good. I travelled to all 50 states and most countries in the world, met a lot of artists and went to hundreds of performances, lived in different places like Germany and Argentina. That is why I am able to observe some differences and perhaps something more as somebody just remaining in Dayton, OH area. I complained about things happened in Dallas and nothing in addition.

  • @freqtrav That's find but your citicism is completely off base. It doesn't even make sense. You've done nothing but take the majority of this comment section will obscure complaints.

  • @KevyKooKoo You took the majority of this section to affront foreigners in a vulgar language (as example : "sucks so bad"). Perhaps it is the US way of communication - in Europe I am not used to it.

Why is my criticism completely off base? I think you were not there, so you couldn´t observe anything. This kind of discrimination in Dallas bothered me; I had this feeling nowhere in the world. I do not pay for a ticket and take a transcontinental flight to get experiences like this.

  • @freqtrav You are still off base. This video is of Hilary Hahn. Nobody cares about a bad experience you had while in Dallas, descrimination, so-called vulgar language etc... are you getting my point now? As I have said before, if you spent so much money on a ticket and had such a bad experience what is forcing you to come back? You surely don't have to. Plain and simple... nobody cares.

  • @KevyKooKoo This video is not about Hilary Hahn, it is about her performance in Dallas ("Hilary Hahn in Dallas May 13,2010" if you are able to read) - and I wrote about her performance in Dallas in a critical way. In opposite to other artists a lot of (young) people come to her performances because of her signing - I don´t no why but this is a fact (I went to Dallas cause of her playing). These students missed the part after the intermission because of bad arrogant organisation und rude staff.

  • @KevyKooKoo At this point let us stop the discussion, it is not the time worth and perhaps bother some users here!

  • Love her! I don't know why she isn't playing her Vuillaume. This violin doesn't mesh well with her. I love the depth and warmth in her Vuillaume.

  • @KevyKooKoo I seem to remember an interview where Hilary says she demoed a variety of best-of-the- best instruments in an empty concert hall and found her regular instrument was not surpassed by the others. Is this a modern instrument made by somebody she'd like to promote a bit?

  • @charliep3 Yes. I remember her saying that she owned a modern instrument made by a very good luthier that she kept at home. I've just never seen her play on it before. She said she gets it out every-now-and-then when she is at home to play on it a little bit. I just never guessed it would be on TV. She is probably promoting trying to promote the luthier, as you said. It just doesn't compare to her Vuillaume. Don't you think?

  • @KevyKooKoo I'm no violin expert. It still sounds like Hilary. She's is my favorite violin player, period. I grew up with a singer sister who was noted for fine muscianship, awsome technique, and a beautiful sound. That describes Hilary's playing. I can't get enough.
