I remember hearing that our Balrog was originally M.Bison but was changed due to his similarity with Mike Tyson (M. Tyson) Not sure if that rumor is true, but I do know that our Balrog, Vega, M. Bison were originally M. Bison, Balrog, Vega :D

Actually, the names are right. Those are their original names. When capcom released Street Fighter in USA, they wanted to change M.Bisons(Boxer) name because they were afraid they would get sued by Mike Tyson(go figure). So instead of giving him a new name, they just switched it.

The Japanese names are: M.Bison(Dictator), Balrog(Claw) and M.Bison(Boxer)[parenthesis are their nicknames]

Idk if you're into the fighting game scene or not but players refer to these chars as their nicknames.

this kind of behavior/logic isn't in any way exclusive to SF2, I have played at a high level in a few games (I admit I'm not that great at SF2 but I love it) and there are always people who try to make you feel bad for doing whatever it takes to win. always putting limits and enforcing arbitrary 'rules' of 'cheapness'. Pretty much so if a 'cheap' guy beats them they can say "Oh no big deal he was just a cheater".

I'm on ChingParr's side of this argument...but I do have a solution that settles both of your views. Spamming fireballs CAN be considered a tactic under the right circumstances as shown in the last fight between Bison and Sagat. It's definitely a last resort defensive tactic.

But, if you're just going to spam fireballs from beginning to end...yea, that pretty much proves you have no idea how to play the game.
