  • what gas setting do you use in your para?

  • And you didn't bring the target back in. . . why?

  • Hey man just wonderin where you bought this gun from. Lookin to buy one myself!

  • isnt it like 1 dollar per bullet? this is shooting .308s right?

  • @armydawg1292 Definitely not.

  • I love watching people that don't know how to shoot. lol no offense.

  • That paintjob looks very nice!

  • Is this rifle hard to shoot from an unsupported position such as standing? How heavy is the carbine version??

  • @scarred4life1 It's not a light weapon like a M16/M4 type rifle, but at the same time, it's much easier to manage than the M14...

  • @slagman5 Ergonomics I'd say

  • ah you cut the part i wanted to see, the mag ejecting!! :(

  • Beast of a rifle.

  • do you shoot mostly steel cased ammo or do you bust the extra dollars and get only brass cased? also do you have alot of feeding issues when you load a 20 round mag full? i have herd alot about that being an issue

  • @cokeman2423 I buy brass cased ammo in bulk and might start reloading soon... And I have yet to experience any feeding issues, full magazine or not.

  • your sa58 para is nice what type of receiver do you have??? type 1 2 also you gas adjustment seem a little high. really nice rifle. have ou looked at the eotect 552 308 for it. and the CASV-FA hand guard both really nice. and is it all dsa parts???

  • your modded controller sucks :p

  • @MrMeat31 My what???

  • @slagman5 nothin, mw2 joke, thought someone would get it

  • @MrMeat31 Ah, don't play that game, no interest. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on the PC is so much more awesome, why would I even waste my time with Modern Warfare 2? lol. :-P

  • The mags it uses are identical to metric FAL mags right?

  • @dawnninjawolf Yes, it not just identical, they ARE metric FAL mags. Nice and cheap. :-) One reason I like this rifle.

  • are you asian???

    and where you from??

  • are you resting the mag on the table as you shoot?

  • @BWpepperr Nope, and you really shouldn't. Although the FAL's mag sits in there without any play at all...

  • Whack a scope on it !!!!

  • @ausglocker I'm planning on it, but need more $

  • i was hoping you would show the target at the end to see the bullet groupings.

  • You're not wearing ear protection! =000000

  • LOL, they're called ear plugs. :-P

  • do you have to have an ffl licence to ordor this gun

  • @FD6 No, you'll just have to have it shipped to a local dealer that does have a valid FFL. Most likely they'll charge you a transfer fee for the transaction. Or you can have your dealer order it for you, might be cheaper that way, depends on if they get a dealer discount and how much profit they charge. My dealer didn't charge any profit. So I got mine at dealer discount cost plus transfer fee. I love that gunshop... lol

  • dsa makes a fine FAL

  • Hell yah! I love mine.

  • The make 30 round F.A.L mags but they are huge and I believe they make them out of S outh africa. Good luck finding mag pouches

  • Yah, I've seen them, I'm fine with 20 rounds. :-)

  • hmm i'm not a big fan of attachments TBH, and i still find the ak74m the best because of its caliber and reliability. remember, the 5.45 is almost twice as controllable as 5.56 and 7.62. only 2 problems are that it can cause stoppages and that its hard to find in europe

  • @Destroyer

Somehow I doubt the "poison bullet" is "twice as controllable" as a 5.56x45mm round. Have you fired them? You don't even feel it firing... I would think they are about the same, maybe the 5.45x39mm would be slightly less, but not by much, at least not much that you can tell since the 5.56x45 is already so tame...

  • yep, the 5.45 has much less kick and @ automatic its much more controllable.

  • oh, and also you might feel the 5.56 soft because of the weapons that fire it. some 5.56 are very complex weapons thats why they dont kick like a mule. but in simpler and more reliable weapons its rougher. thats the advantage that the 5.45 has - it makes even simple weapons like the AK accurate and controllable @ auto

  • How accurate is FAL PARATROOPER, more accurate than a ak47?

  • It'll be hard to find something that's less accurate than the AK47... The FAL is a lot more accurate than the AK47, but less accurate than the M14.

  • i find the AK47 not that inaccurate actually if you can use the sights....

and the AK74M is one of the most accurate things for me

  • I am also thinkin of buying FAL PARATROOPER, but this fires the same bullets as AK47, right?

  • No, it fires the 7.62x51mm, the AK fires the 7.62x39. This has A LOT more power...

  • not a LOT... it also has a huge amount of kick and most 7.62x51 magazines are like 10 rounds so....

    5.45 and 7.62>nato calibres

  • Um, do you know the meaning of the second number? 7.62x39mm means the full length is 39mm, while 7.62 NATO is 7.62x51mm, which means it's 51mm long... that's A LOT more powder... I understand you're a AK fanboy, but at least be realistic. Yes, it has much less recoil, that's the advantage, the power advantage CLEARLY goes to the 7.62 NATO. Video games are bad for the brain.

  • son of a bitch, i'm an expert at firearms and video games are just a way for me to earn quick money cos i'm skillful. I've measured it - the 39 has about 2400J of energy and the 51 has about 2900. yes the power advantage is to the 7.62x51

  • correction - 39 has about 2100J

  • Not sure about Joules, but from what I know about how many ft-lbs of energy they each have, I'd say your numbers are way off. In ft-lbs, the x39 is somewhere around 1600ft-lbs while the x51 is somewhere around 2500ft-lbs. The 7.62x51mm round is a 150-168gr bullet while the 7.62x39 is like a 125gr bullet, and the 7.62x51mm has a muzzle velocity like 400fps faster than the x39. More weight, more velocity = much more energy.

  • Basically the 7.62x51mm round has 50% more power than the 7.62x39, I think that counts as "A LOT." But it's not really fair to compare them because they fill different roles. The 7.62x39mm is an intermediate round like the 5.56x45mm, while the 7.62x51mm is a full powered round. The 39mm's purpose is a big diameter bullet that's easy to control, the 51mm is big bullet, big power. Not an equal comparison.

  • thats y i hate indoor ranges the brass is flying back at your head

  • Burned me before too when they land between the back of the chair and my butt...

  • LOL that happened to my girl only with her boobs

  • How's the stock on that one, solid?

  • If you're wondering about if it has some play in it, not at all. This is a rock solid weapon.

  • Excellent! I was thinking of selling my CAI R1A1 and buying a DSA Para, but I have a folding stock AK-47 and it's not as comfortable as a normal stock, you can't get a good cheek weld.

  • Which stock is that? The underfolder? That one is pretty much crap when it comes to comfort, it's mainly just for how small it makes the weapon when it's folded. I do wish they made a rubber butt pad for this stock though... Hm, maybe they do, I'll look.

  • Nah, it's the Tapco side-folder. Came like that with the rifle. It works but it's not the most solid thing in the world. I want to see if I can fit a Russian 74-style folding skeleton stock on it, assuming I can find one.

  • Do you think you could add a slip on Limb Saver pad to the Para stock? It probably wouldnt affect it while folded, and you could always cut the sleeve down with an exacto knife if need me? I was interested in an DS Austrian Para Model and was just wondering about cheap and easy mods.

  • It would probably fit fine, but it adds a little bit to the length of pull. I personally wouldn't. I don't think the recoil on the FAL is THAT punishing. It's much less than the M14/M1A type rifle, and nowhere close to a shotgun's, lol.

  • Oh, I forgot to say, the limbsaver pads seem to need to screw on, replacing the factory butt plate. The Para stock doesn't have a removable butt plate and no screw holes in the back of the stock, so it might need to be installed by a gunsmith if you really want one.

  • Thank you for the quick reply.

Ive put many straight through a range rented Romanian AK with the factory wooden stock and the kick back wasn't too bad(in fact my shoulder was less stiff afterward). I thought that the para stock might be a little different though, because they traditionally look like formed metal piping or sharp bent sheet metal. I think I might go with the short para FAL so I can have a reliable 308 I can pack in a BOB.

    Keep it up,

    J

  • nice rifle. too bad the army wont issue us any of those for our mission to africa next year..... lots of fals, ammo and mags for those in africa.....

  • @wwclay86 Hey, if you don't mind the old beat up fals you'll find all over the place in Africa, grab one! lol

  • well, im that guy who likes to get his hands on and fire the kinds of weapons that are usually found in the area of operations. in case the poo really hits the fan, and the M-16/M-4s become unusable, or we run out of ammo. know your enemies weapons, and know how to use them. just in case....

  • If you're going to say it, go for the gold.

    Shit.

  • I like your taste in guns. My Vz. 58 should be arriving soon, but my next rifle would be a dsa fal paratrooper. The quintessential battle rifle.

  • you should rig up a brass catcher, like you had on the other video u did with the ar15 i think.......lol that range looks like the shoot straight rifle range in tampa, where i live by.....and the same thing there they dont let you stand up there as well.....but you can rapid fire though.....nice video

  • I actually have a brass saver for this rifle. It was just backordered and I didn't receive it until after I shot this. I do use it to save my brass. I intend to start reloading sometime soon, just gotta make some room in my house, lol.

  • is this a civilian model? or do you have to be police or military? also, does the stock come off? .223?

  • It shoots .308 aka 7.62x51mm. It's civilian since it's semi-auto, and the stock doesn't come off. I mean, you can take it off, but that will require tools.

  • Very nice. How well does it do on recoil?

  • Well, shooting from the bench gives the most felt recoil in my opinion, and you can see in the video that it wasn't bad. Shooting it off-hand was actually much easier in follow-up shots. In close range, I can rapid fire and stay within center mass.

  • That range where this was shot didn't allow shooting from any position but sitting on the bench, and didn't allow rapid-fire. Yeah, they are gay like that.

  • what state do you live in?

  • Florida
