A lot of people think that Bogie falling back in that chair was a blooper, but it's actually part of the scene. The Movie is "The Big Shot" from 1942.
the last part is thomas mitchell... and even this is a blooper, of all the people in this reel, his performance is really still the best. one of the greatest actors in the golden age of hollywood. : )
Ann Sheridan was something else: came from Texas with an accent so thick she could spread butter with it, kept enough of it throughout her career till she may have been the most down to earth actress ever its always like having her in your living room, so real you can almost smell the cigarette she is smoking.
Not sure about the girl doing the test, but the scene is a flashback from the Bette Davis movie "Now Voyager." The actor who got the part in question can be found at 2:27.
Opera singer/director Tito Gobbi used to do that! He'd show the singers how to do things in rehearsals by taking all the parts, he'd even play a young girl. I sat in a rehearsal once in Chicago and saw him do it. He didn't dress up though :) Hee hee.
I adore these bloopers!! I almost died when that chair flipped over on Bogie! Isn't is funny to see Reagan in these movie clips? Stanwyck cracks me up!
