Your amazing and touching video set off an emotional outpouring from me to my daughter now 12 who suffered this type of injury at birth. I spent the first 2 yrs of her life doing PT at home 6 times a day. She is about 95% recovered. Your daughter is precious! I was doing some research on motor development in children and saw your video. Thanks for giving my daughter and I a way to connect today and remember her journey. She now plays basketball and volleyball and loves to swim like a fish!!
I'm a 21 years old girl from Denmark. I have a BPlexus Injury. As new born I didn't move my arm at all. My parents did some home therapy and I began to be aware of my arm and use it. I never had surgery.
Today I live a normal life although I do some things a bit strangely or in a funny way. I study, dance in a dance crew, work out, have friends and i'm happy. I just started therapy 2 times a week and I hope it'll help me to improve my rotation in my arm.
my daughter was born on october 29 and she has Erb's palsy :( I never heard of shoulder dystocia before her delivery. I wish I knew about it ... I might have known what to do to prevent it
Hello! I've had ROBPI since birth as well. Thanks for putting together this great awareness video. I've never had surgery and it's great to see that your little girl has recovered well from the surgeries. God Bless!
p.s. your daughter is beautiful, and so is this video. I know it was hard on my mom, so it is probably hard on you, too. You should know that everything you are doing is great, because even if that slim chance that it doesn't help much is there, she will still love you for trying. At least that's the way I feel <3
Anyway, I'm gonna leave the ball in your court. I'm here if you ever need me!
My name is Stacy and I have had an obpi since birth in my right arm also. I had a very very similar surgery (maybe even the same one) as your daughter when I was ten (w/cast that sticks your arm out 90 degrees) If you ever want to talk to someone who's had to grow up a lefty with limited right arm motion, I am right here. I'm 21 years old, and I live up in Washington state. I will even talk to Madison if you want. I would have loved to know other people with the same prob when I was little.
this video is great. made me so emotional, my son also has obpi of the right arm and has so far had the nerve graft surgery at 3 months old. Seeing how your daughter is able to move her arm now, gives me so much hope for my sons future. Thank you so much for putting this video out there.
Thank you for posting this! My daughter also suffers from obpi. she was born on Jan 15 2009 and has since received 2 surgeries with Dr Nath. Mod quad (Sept 2009) and Tri-tilt (Sept 2010). I hope Madison is doing well! i will keep her in my thoughts and prayers!
You happen to be someone I look up to. Why it may be odd that your own aunt looks up to someone who is about 17 years younger than her, it is because you are the definition of strength and bravery. You have inspired the people around you and you are a true blessing in all of our lives.

My little M,

You are, without doubt, one in a billion.
