  • I'm gonna try to use a splitter and hook it up to my tv for channels and my receiver for radio. I think I would get better reception on the roof tho so that's where I'm gonna mount it.

  • @whologe - If you haven't purchased already, you might want to try the ANT-105. Its a very similar antenna at about the same price. The ANT-105 has two ouputs for TV and appears at least to have a more weather resistant setup. We have had this NRA 3000 outside for almost two years now without any weather related incidents. Recently I purchased the ANT 105 for a relative and I intend to do a review on it as soon as I get more results from actual usage.

  • what if you have it 40 feet in the air and you cannot give it a little help to get it to go in the opposite direction?

  • @1antennaman - Good Point. I'm not sure I would put it up that far anyway, I installed mine so it would get some protection from the wind. Also, the cord will not extend that far, although I think there is a similar model on EBay that has a 75 foot cord.

  • how many channels cause on my homemade one gets 13...

  • @chickenpoper - You're probably doing good with 13, I'm getting 12. Actually, I can get more if I turn it another direction, but prefer to leave it pointing South. One thing I'm finding is antenna's really give you different performance, depending on location and obstacles. How many miles are you from stations? We're about 70-90.

  • @thoughtchallenge im not that sure....but if you want to see my antenna come to my youtube channel in a week and ill make a vide of it

  • @thoughtchallenge hey i was thinking.....what antenna do you use because i just found out there is 43 stations withing 100 miles of me so what antenna do you use (im ok with 100 bux antenna or could you recomend a really good antenna cause the one i built was just to try it out and to test styles plus to have tv till i made a huge one with my dad or bought one my self

  • how many channels do you catch with this antenna?

  • They are Junk So Bad That The E Bay Seller Refunded My Hard Earned Cash And Did Not Want His Or Hers $2.00 Of Plastic and Aluminum Back,It Never Worked and Cant

  • @Acmemechanic yea, I bought on off eBay last year also, the rotor was junk and didn't work. I put the antenna up anyways to see if it would get signal and I got nothing at all. I got more signal with my old antenna. The booklet wasn't no better as it was what looked to be a copy a very bad copy of how to put the antenna togather. Gave the unit to my one cousin that lived out by a feild. He got nothing either with the antenna. These things are garbage.

  • @moparlover80- As I said the instructions appear to be written in pig latin. Your problem may have resulted from a mix up on the metal strips, I had to look closely to figure them out. The remote controlled rotor was my biggest disappointment. The amplifier was the selling point for me, we are receiving 10 channels versus about 4 before give or take a couple of channels that come in and out. People should always remember the arrow shape of antennas points backwards to desired direction.

  • @thoughtchallenge Well, then how cpme my cousin couldn't get the antenna to work either? Plus he lives out in a open area where he should be available to pick up signal very very well and yet he didn't pick anything up with the antenna either. I put it togather took it apart and gave him the stuff and he did the same thing but he did cross and uncorss the metal strips and yet nothing.. same when I had it.

  • @moparlover80 - I won't argue with your experience. This video was made to provide consumers with the information they need to made their own decisions. There are as you can see others who have commented about problems with the antenna. Unfortunately, I have no method for discerning the percentage of failed products to successful ones.

  • These are mass produced chinese antennas. The american designed antennas perform much better.

  • Ebay is full of these crappy Chinese made antennas. My neighbor bought one and set it up on his deck.. the first wind storm we had snapped the antenna right off at the rotor This antenna is pure garbage!

  • This antenna has great quality reception from HDTV signal from HD broadcasting towers up to 100 miles away but this antenna is not strong it will breaks very easy even with 30 miles per hour wind , it doesn't need hurricanes to break this antenna. I got one before and it broke by the wind.

  • okayyyyyyyyyyyy

  • ha piece of crap antenna more like it i get more with the coathanger antenna.

  • I plan to update the review soon, with better sound hopefully.

Keep this in mind before purchasing. The main advantage I have found is the pre-amplifier.

  • need to do something with the audio, it is terrible. About the antenna itself, it is a piece of junk, like to said the rotor kept getting stuck, metal flimsy and plastic would not last long in hot sunny weather.

  • Thanks for your comments. I wouldn't recommend mounting this antenna on a roof, for the very reasons you describe. We're getting good reception at ground level on the least windy side of the house. It seems like this would be an opportunity for an American company to produce a higher quality version of this, by using a higher quality plastic or other material for the skeletal structure.

  • speed it up
