  • "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." - RALPH WALDO EMERSON

  • the deep purple version is better

  • I prefer The Damned Version. of IM SO BORED

  • THEY ARE SO GREAT, THEN AND NOW!

  • What a voice Bruce. His later music is super too.

  • Listen to the Skip James version to understand where they got this.

  • this is a great tribute to skip james...it is a better version than his, but he was by himself in the 30's doing it. A amazing guitarist has to pull off that one and clapton does, which shocked me. I hated clapton until this song then started to understand how great he is.(especially Derrick and the Dominos)

  • In 40 states it is illegal to sing this song if you are not glad or drunk.

  • I'm so glad 2011 is over :P

  • so then Eric is glad;he should be. He has more money than Fort Knox.....

  • u glad bro?

  • awww Love the photo of jack Bruce *sighhhh* So beautiful mmmm thank you ♥

  • Used to cover this in late 60'sI... Was a drummer then.Got a few more minutes of this with my drum solo...Usta.. think..! I'm so glad I can get out in the cool air and have a fag after thispowerbox song (:)

  • great song, some people just don't appreciate good music...

  • Damn, I'm Happy it's Friday!

  • i like skip better

  • Cream was the hottest power trio ever!!!!

  • this band*

  • i dont see how people can go around hating music. i just dont understand. i would never do that. they must be really bored. i dont even know really this bad, which im sure is sad, and im not totally crazy about this song but its cool. and i would never hate on it. respect peoples music. there is absolutely no point in cutting it down.what good comes out of hating ppls music? do u want a badge or something? all it does is pointlessly get ppl mad.

  • I was just listening to this at the Coffee Shop very early Sunday morning. Love this song.

  • Bruce's bass sounds the way a bass should sound -- strong and "wooly." Clapton's soulful playing is just awash in bluesy psychedelia. Baker's great drumming is straight-out Jazz-flavored. The vocals are splendid. This holds up -- no matter what.

  • ..not really a brain teaser is it..

  • Would you say his being glad is perhaps chemically induced?

  • @eyesthatshine um,,,no,,,this was not chemically induced...unless Skip James was drinkin when he wrote the song. This is originally a Skip James song. Lovely. Peace and...good luck in life

  • it almost sounds like i'm so black!!! 0_0

  • @mijmantha5 yo nigga !

  • I was just playing the original 1930 Skip James recording on a Yazoo CD... I might not have been ready for it back at the time I first heard this Cream song many years ago. But now it's the James that speaks to me the most... definitely the James. His recording is eerie and very human.

  • Great Great song by this classic group, the likes we will never hear or see again unfortunately!;(

  • @seaness267 Except for when they toured again a couple years ago ;-P

  • @seaness267 True, real music like this is dying.........If not dead already......

  • And the ups-and-downs of teenage romance are shown in this song. WHY MUST THERE BE A TEENAGER IN LOVE?

  • If he's so glad then why doesn't he know what to do? Oh, I know, he's saying it sarcastically because he's tired of her treating him like crap & he doesn't know what to do about it. Hey, I answered my own question.

  • @railbuggy That's right: he's saying it to overwrite/replace a negative with a positive emotion/feeling. And this will assistant in attracting a better/positive experience/situation, since he is saying it ( ♫I AM SO GLAD! ♫ ) with strong emotion and feeling.

  • I'm so GLAD = Gratitude Love Awesomeness Deliciousness ☼♥☼

  • Me too! But wait... MAY BE is only because we don't already have next generation's music ready already... wait... You'll see/hear. Let's HOPE!

  • Man Jack Bruce is so much better than Clapton

  • Skip James rulz.

  • lady gaga what????????

  • I'm so Glad this Song is in my Favorites.

  • Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker sure WERE 'good buddies', weren't they! They hated each-others' living GUTS from the beginning. Eric was FOREVER cool, and just didn't want to step-into the middle of it.

  • Damn glad to hear he's so glad. Glad Damn Right!

  • ...this is ass backwards

  • was this tune in Casino?

  • @tulllguy There were loads of great tracks in Casino, wouldn't surprise me at all

  • @mootle661 Martin Scorsese (director of Casino), besides knowing how to make really, really, ridiculously good fucking movies...has great taste in music. There's a lot of 60's and 70's rock his favorite is The Rolling Stones, fucking loves The Stones.

  • Why do the dislike guys get bashed all the time? And most of all why do people care?! I like the song and I can care less if any you faggots like the song or not.

  • 5 people are not glad.

  • 5 people have never eaten acid

  • @u2joshuadesireu this band is english buddy

  • Crème de la crème!

  • TO ALL U REDNECKS OUT THERE..CAREFUL YOUR IGNORANCE IS SHOWING lol

  • such a great song

  • 5 people are no glad.......LOL

  • jus' sayin' that just cause most of what's mainstream isn't very good, doesn't mean there isn't still a lot of great artists out there.

  • @aflyinbanana When you can count the good ones on your fingers compared to thousands strong, it kind of does.

  • @aflyinbanana the only current stuff i listen to Muse and most of the stuff Jack White's involved in.

  • I'M SO HIGH!

  • Today's music has so much to offer, if you bother to look. Mumford and Sons, Avett Brothers, everything Jack White touches, and actually open your horizons up because the second hip hop golden age is happening. Less myopic cynicism, more truthpursuit.

  • @shad455 ITS ALL RAP CRAP JUNK..........TAKE IT ALL AND STICK IN A JAP CAR AND SEND IT ALL TO TOKYO........

  • @whokeithmoon little bitch

  • @santrackjuggalo THATS WHAT I CALL YOUR WIFE IN BED EVERY NIGHT. MY LITTLE BITCH...O SHE SAID HI...

  • @whokeithmoon stfu.

  • @whokeithmoon Thats so Racist

  • @UmiKenja NO ITS NOT...JUST SPEAKIN THE TRUTH. I DONT HIDE BEHIND WHAT SOCIETY HAS MADE US TO BELIEVE IS RACIAL...ITS RAP CRAP...AND A JAP IS A JAP...ASK ANY WW2 SOLIDER..ESPICALLY ALL THE ONES THEY TORTURED IN WW2...

  • @whokeithmoon Well your truth is messed up. You cannot hate a japanese person for what Other japanese people did in the past. It's the exact same as saying something like. Your a fucking twat because Some Australian 40 years ago killed a child. You didn't know him or anything. Thats exactly what your saying.

  • @shad455 Todays music is nothing compared to the 60s, early 70s, go listen you mental midget and learn something. you techo moron. its all studio produced..no real music all washed down bullshit

  • how glad?

  • @persianchick28

    So glad :)

  • i think we should all stop comparing any good music to justin beiber or today's pop. we all know they suck, we all know that cream is the best. and all of you who bitch about justin beiber's sales being higher or whatever, all i can say is that i can bet clapton, bruce, and baker don't give a fuck and just want to play good music. let's all follow suit

  • @MrDrifter66 Blow it out your ass..keep your 3rd grade philosphy to your self..

  • @MrDrifter66 ABSOLUTELY MATE-FUCK TODAY'S THROW AWAY POP MUSIC BECAUSE IT IS 99% MINDLESS BOLLOCKS ANYWAY-I JUST WISH THERE WERE GROUPS OUT THERE TODAY THAT WE COULD HONESTLY COMPARE TO CREAM

  • @hairyarsewelder right? that's what i'm sayin

  • @MrDrifter66 IM SO GLAD! that you said that

  • @GuitarWarrior5150 thank you

  • Comment removed

  • "Literally" your opinion. Go back to using the adjective "epic" to describe everything J0H0. You're out of your league here, Junior. Go blast Eminem or Dr. Dre as all the haters of your generation do.

  • I'm one of those rare specimens who enjoy a tad more depth than mindless lyrics exhibited by songs like "boom boom pow" and "i'm so glad", Rich Hartley Nineteen Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy One; songs that i can enjoy even when i don't have a doobie in my hand

  • @J0H0stetler Think about lyrics before you make statements. I'm so glad is a skip james song. Listen to what he says, then listen to Devil Got My Woman and you'll understand that I'm so glad is not written by cream...also Boom, boom, boom, boom. I gonna shoot you right down..knock you off your feet...take you home with me. And when I get you in the room...boom, boom, boom, boom. GOOD John Lee Hooker lyrics. Check the originals out.

  • @J0H0stetler I'm So Glad and other Cream songs were reknowned for the segues into improvisational techniques which are the hall marks of American Jazz and Blues which the Cream artists held in very high esteem and accomplished with great virtuosity. It is weird how British artists made America appreciate American Music

  • @shermy1700 Whats also amazing is how much YOU ARE FULL OF YOURSELF...

  • @whokeithmoon

What's amazing is that you turn a music discussion into a mockery of YouTube trolling.

  • Little bit of cream to go along with my coffee.

  • I'm so glad that the like/dislike bar looks like a joint

  • @J0H0stetler - take your trolling elsewhere. cream is the bomb-diggity.

  • @symanx00 i am not trolling, i defy anyone to tell me they enjoy this song while hooked up to a polygraph machine.

  • @J0H0stetler That's because your an asswipe & take it up the chute, what do U know about music, go listen to your Justin Bieber songs & lady ca ca, U douche!!!

  • This is music. It has rhythm and melody and unique lyrics created by skilled artists. Conversely today's tunes sound like computer generated repetitions of electronic sounds and what may be human voices.

  • To me this is the best kind of cover song. It keeps the spirit of the original without slavishly trying to copy everything. And the musicians use their own skills and creativity to add their own flavor. Plus... when this song came out the writing credit read, Skip James. Other bands of the era *cough* Led Zeppelin *cough* probably wouldn’t have been so honest and made sure Skip got paid.

  • If the young Skip James were around this would be a REAL pop song....before anyone knew what the artist looked like when they decided if the music is good.

  • Skip James > Cream

  • 5 people aren't glad ._.

  • @SkShaws969 my thoughts exactly

  • Who is glad

  • AWESOME!

  • IM SO GLAD I CAN LISTEN TO THIS SHIT INSTEAD OF TODAYS BULLSHIT!

  • @Alithecomedian "IM SO GLAD I CAN LISTEN TO THIS SHIT" how dare you call cream shit... shame on you

  • @44cheeto hey i mean it in a good day xD

  • makes me want to turn it up more than my speakers will allow! this rocks! thank you ode

  • There are5 little boys and or girls that did not take their meds, now, they are not glad.

  • I can say this for today's 'music': "i'm so sad, I'm so sad, I'm sad I'm sad I'm sad!"

  • one of Clapton's best solos IMO, probably 'cause it sounds like he's trying to emulate Beck...

  • 5 people aren't so glad

  • @Zeppelinfan11or12 They're probably fans of Justin Bieber!

  • im so glad i actually JIZZED in my pants!!!

  • dont get mad. get GLAD.

  • 'I'm So Glad' you posted this Cream classic. :)

  • Today's music makes me so sad, I'm so sad, I'm sad, I'm sad

  • @RootUnique Me too...I can also say this for the 'music' of today: "I'm so mad, I'm so mad, I'm mad I'm mad I'm mad!"

  • @RootUnique Don't be sad, just listen to what you want to.You can't change todays garbage.Just go on amazon and buy the music of the bands you like.NOW sucks, lets face it.Build your own music library.peace.

  • @RootUnique Don't be sad! get Glad!!

  • i'm soooooooooooooooooooooo glad:D

  • only a legend could create a song from 3 words

  • @killermon12

There is more than three words, but those three are the majority.

  • That opening riff makes me glad.

  • I'm frickin' glad myself.

  • I wonder if hes glad

  • 3 people are not so glad.

  • This might be Eric's most sublime solo from this era.No treatments, tricks or pedals.

  • People, check out my version of "I'm so glad"

We would like to know your opinion!

  • The solo by clapton is played on one string.....go to love it

  • @therealnotpalc I read a Guitar Player interview of Jack Bruce recounting Eric's use of one string was also used to awesome effect for the intro to White Room which was,get this, inspired by Puccini .

  • 2 people are not so glad.

  • i'm so glad(: to be a flower child, and a peace, love, life, hippie dippie(:

  • This song is one of the classic lost rock gems. How can you be sad when you hear I'm so glad? Peace

  • woohoooo ty this song u guys

  • cream made me glad

  • song kicks *ss

  • man i want to dress just like cream

  • These guys actually played my suburban high school, believe it or not. I don't even think they knew where they were. The show was as good as anything on their live albums, anything they'd play in NYC or Boston and London. I was in awe.

  • i'm so glad some one uploaded this tune on youtube 1968 one of the best years in my life

  • A friggin' great song ! They don't make them like this anymore!

  • why is he so glad? btw glad means slippery in my languiszschq sorry i dont know how you spell languiszahchsq

  • @corakanproductions glad means happy in the english languAGE

  • @danielhzi yea i know i was just sain

  • i wonder if he is glad ?

  • @Pokergod1188

I doubt it. What made you think that?

  • Cream and Clapton at his best, love it---thanks for the post, wore out my cassette years ago, but the great music will live forever----

  • The Damned did a " version" of this, called I'm So Bored.

At last I get to hear this after 24 years! Ta! : D

  • i' m so happy to hear this great cream song!!!!

  • all of kanadia are Fags /live with it /or come 2 TEXAS

  • Eddie Van Halen called this Genuis

  • well this song was recorded in 1966, although its just a cover a skip james song from the 1930's

so yea, this is neither 70's nor 80's rock, if those are the only two decades of which you like your music from, then obviously this would be your thing

  • i wonder if he's glad?

  • very underrated drummer!!

  • There are many wild ,longer live versions of this classic Cream track, I always go back to this 1st cut on the studio debut album. . Jerry Garcia. Johnny Marr, mick Taylor..Jimmy Hendrix .I love them all........But nothing beats this , spare ,simple Eric Clapton solo.. The genius is in the timing and driving confident finale which builds and comes to a clean finish ..then a pause before the final sung verse....less is more !

  • Such A Nice Cover Of Deep Purple. Eric Clapton is sheer genius.

  • @Ledzep69Man, Cream released their version of this song in 1966 on their depute album Fresh Cream... Deep Purple coved the song in 1968.... It was originally recorded by Skip James in the early 1930s.

  • @dosgoat ohh sorry

i love deep purple's version better though

but this is just as good

  • actually skip james first recorded this song in 1931, then deep purple covered it 30 years later

  • @AgentCarter I already have been notified of that. Anyway it doesn't concern me. Because I am a fan of the remakes by Cream and Deep Purple. Most of the time remakes are not so well but in this case they are very interesting. I think Deep Purple did a nice job though

  • well maybe if you looked into it you could be a skip james fan too, obviously the members of deep purple and cream were

  • @AgentCarter That is so otherwise they would have not done a remake of the song.

I saw the videos and he is a quite great musician.
