  • Where can I find scores ?

  • It's not by a Cuban, but by Sabicas, a flamenco guitar master. But I'm not sure if it really is a malagueña: this is more likely to be a fandango de la Sierra or de Lucena.

  • The song is that of a man telling a woman (from Málaga, Spain) how beautiful she is, and how he would love to be her man, but that he understands her rejecting him for being too poor.

This is a public domain mexican huapango song...and thus can be enjoyed by all without having to worry about piracy. No Cuban layed his greasy hand on this song.

  • @lowsodium36 don't confuse "malaguena salerosa" with "La Malaguena" and as fo rthe comment on Cubans and greasy hands...... besame el culo, cabron de mierda ignorante.

  • da fuq?!?

  • Wow. I'm speechless. She plays flawless.

  • Beautiful.

  • guitar + beer = relax

  • MY GOD

  • Beautiful in every way Thankyou

  • Bravooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • lol if we all had a bong we'd all get along

  • People stop arguing jts over the internet jezz!!

  • Children, go to your rooms. Art needs no egos or braggarts. Art needs only art

  • This was beautiful. One of the best versions in my opinion.

  • Cuban composer? His parents where spanish, and he was born when Cuba was spanish! Learn history please.

  • @SpanishBogatyr Screw you.

  • @Blockmaniaman777 Screw YOU for being against the facts, he was born in 1895 when it belonged to Spain, if you cant see that its because you sir are an idiot.

  • @SpanishBogatyr Screw YOU for pointing out one tiny-ass motherfucking flaw that nobody cares about. just SHUT UP and enjoy the damn music!

  • @Blockmaniaman777 Live in you ignorant world man, i dont need to stop writting to HEAR the music, cunt. I am not going to waste more of my time with you kid, read a book of history after hearing the song ;) Bye.

  • @SpanishBogatyr Fuck you, FUCK this music and FUCK Spain

  • @CrioloDoido1000 keep crying on internet kid! jajajajaja :D

  • @CrioloDoido1000 from cuban composer stupid, Fuck Jamaica

  • @SpanishBogatyr Quit calling everyone "kid", faggot. I JUST SO HAPPEN to be a writer. I write humour about the teenage life. Adolescence, sex, and fighting... I've experienced these more than YOU HAVE, I'm sure.

  • @Blockmaniaman777 Then if you are so "experienced" you should be more smart and stop writing bullshit, although i respect you because everybody who writes something deserves respect, i must say that your comment of "screw you" got me so angry because i exposed the truth. And better dont talk about experience, i am sure that i have experienced much more than you.

  • @SpanishBogatyr Dude just shut up I'm tired of constantly arguing with like 5 people at once.

  • Her hands move as though they were a machine. Absolutely incredible.

  • I won't play until you applause.

  • Bravo, very nice. I love guitar music...

  • where do people find the sheet music for the ERNESTO LECUONA version of malaguena, i have been looking every where.

  • La Malagueña(:

  • how can such music be played without mistakes?? like this...wow!

  • wow i totally suck at playing the guitar xD

  • @xFishNinjax she is in her early sixties not seventy...

  • @murronius I NEVER SAID SHE WAS DUDE.

  • she is nice!! ...very nice ..I don't care if she is 70... she is bad ass!

  • La composiicion es del cubano ERNESTO LECUONA, y otras piezas populares de corte español son GRANADA, MADRID, etc. del mexicano AGUSTIN LARA. Y todo porque admiramos a los queridos españoles ole!!!

  • married my...........

  • @bardockfender She is 70 year old !!!

  • fucking amazing

  • I think this video is exceptional. It has everything you could ever wish to hear about playing such a famous tune. I would say it is the best version of Malaguena I have ever heard, outstanding is the best I can say. It upsets me when I look at other people's comments and see such disrespectfully people posting rude and negative comments. Jealousy perhaps?

  • sabicas is just better

  • O.O!

  • Done so beautifully I could weep but then risk interrupting a theme song of heaven. God bless your heart, hands, and soul for this alone. To have heard your song one's life cannot have been lived in vain.

  • Esa guitarra es la mas afortunada de todas las guitarras del mundo, por que le esta haciendo el amor una mujer super hermosa con el mas grande talento que haya existido.

  • Beautifully played. Originally written by early 20th century Cuban composer/musician Ernesto Lecuona. An expressive piece (Lady of Malaga, in English?) conveying much passion - I'm still trying to achieve this on the piano. There are also some excellent piano examples on YouTube.

  • She looks so feminine and beautiful the way she sits and hold the guitar and her skill.... she is perfect!

  • cuban composer??????

EPIC FAIL IT IS A MEXICAN SONG EVERYBODY KNOWS IT !

  • @19ars92 Mexican style song, composer was originally from cuba though

  • @InSaNoDaCloWn NO IM SORRY BUT THE CUBAN VERSION IS PLAYED WITH PIANNO!

naver a cuban has composed this kind of songs. THERE ARE A LOT OF SONGS NAMED MALAGUENA, MALAGUENA SALEROSA , LA MALAGUENA, BUT THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT. BESIDES ITS ON WIKIPEDIA AND YOUTUBE AND IT EXPLAINS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CUBAN AND THE MEXICAN VERSION

  • @19ars92 Was caps lock really necessary? Anyways, the Cuban "version" of this song is played on piano, and the mexican version on guitar? That implies the music is the same. If I play back on a kazoo Bach is still a german composer, he wrote the song. The instrument it's played on doesnt change the fact that the arrangement of notes was written by a guy who was born in cuba

  • @InSaNoDaCloWn sorry if you got offended by the caps !

but i just wanted to let you know that the Cuban version and the mexican version have the SAME title but not the same lyrics in it this must be the cuban.

  • @19ars92 Improvisation is how music evolves and styles are created. If not you would have no Mexican music.

  • @crazedNdiffused and without the arabs we wouldn't have the guitar ....seriously come on!

  • @19ars92 The guitar evolved from stringed instruments that were used long before Ishmael land Isaac. Compare the finest Arab music today to a mere European chamber piece. And neither did Arabs give us 'zero'. But if not for Arabs we definitely would have missed out on Islam.

  • @19ars92 Curious why you would make a negative comment here in relation to what cannot be denied as 'highly skilled and beautiful' music'. I have no ear for many classical pieces but am amazed at their complexity and the perfect ear and genius that created them as well as the instruments.

  • @19ars92 sorry when i first saw the video i heart she said cuban composer before she had played the guitar but at the end i realized that is not the mexican song its actually a cuban song with the same name ... my bad

  • A strong arm, and a sensitive heart! Thank You!

  • I have always loved your music you are so so talented. I truly "feel" when I listen to you play, I have seen you live I enjoyed to the fullest!

  • YES!

  • my idol....<3:D:D:))

  • Lindo!

  • me tuve que aprender esta version de oido xD =D pues no pude encontrar ninguna partitura de esta version T.T

  • granny power

  • donde puedo encontrar esta partitura??

  • Love Leona, ♥

  • bien

  • بسیار زیبا

  • Where was this video taken? It looks like the concert I went, in London Ontario

  • @Rhawnied Hey, I live in London ON and I'm dying for a classical guitar concert. When did Lina Boyd come to London? Do you know of any other classical guitar concert in London?

  • my thumb middle articulation is bending 90 degree,is it bad or good to play classical guitar?

  • @hyperislamist I have a middle articulation not as severe, and have had severe issues with some kinds of positions and have to modify them significantly. Called bad technique, but we do what we have to do, yes? Otherwise significant pain all the way up my arm. My advice is make sure you do not squeeze the neck and get a professional teacher. Use light strings and a narrower neck if you can.

  • @SGPlayer0008 its true it makes harder to hold the neck.u know the issue.i think i shouldnt take playing guitar seriously.because im 30 now:)

  • jose feliciano wins

  • Anyone got a link to the guitar tab for this? I can tabs for Malaguena, but not played like this.

    Thanks.

  • Aahh Liona, I thought I knew how to play this song...

Pure Sweetness, thanks for the serious lesson, it was beautiful!

  • @lookinphoto So, if this is not La Malagueña, then I'd like to know the song name.

@CataclysmicNinja Where you lucky to find a tab of this version?

    @Liona Boyd Marry me!

    :D...

  • esta melodía NO es La Malagueña.

  • ..... Guitar Tab? lol

  • very nice, but TOO nice. She plays that thing like a harp.

  • mamacita..........

  • Beautiful woman... she has done her homework on that guitar I wonder if people would flock to her concerts if she wasn't so beautiful to look at... but all credit to her I love it.

    From Australia

  • Tabs?

  • Charo's performance doesn't hold a candle to this. This artist is far and away better than most of the performances found on You Tube. Outstanding!!

  • Superbe bravo !

  • tab 2:29 ? T.T

  • I will not comment on her performance. She plays perfectly.

But she's strange something, her face skin looks like she's younger when you look at her hands skin.

Anyway, she plays perfectly and no matter how many years old she is.

  • Typical rendition by a classical guitarist - no feeling.

  • Very good! This is the guitar rendition of "La Malaguena" playing in my mind. Thank you.

  • Charo CAN bend some strings!

  • yes

  • she said get a that a cuban wrote this??

  • I was gonna say, "That's a weird looking kitchen," but then I heard her play.

  • @dmaster225 youve obvioulsy been laid...

  • this song was writen by a mexican, where she get that a cuban wrote this? lool

  • @ProviderMR Porque es un gringa, lol. This woman can barely play it anyway. Charo kills it.

  • This isn't shit compaired to Charo's rendition.

    Spaniards just do it better.

  • if you like this, you'll love the band All That Remains

  • bravo !

  • @DJAFKAT how old are you?

  • i love thes

  • Canadian classical guitar goddess, Liona Boyd

  • this is not the real sapnish flavor malagueña, please check the maestro Sabicas look for "Sabicas Malageña"

This is real malageña this woman make a good interpretation but is not the real interpretation, check the Sabicas end of the song, AMAZING.

  • This woman is absolutely amazing. This is true music right here down to every pluck and strum.

  • TAB AND THE NAME OF THIS WOMAN PLZ!!!!!!!!!

  • this video needs a top comment

  • I don't think I've watched a youtube music video were the majority of the commentary isn't intensely and argumentatively focused on trying to tear somebody down, or alternatively trying to convince others of their own assertions. Lamentably, this condition is the epitome of the human race. I don't see why people can't enjoy somebody else's talent or ability, without having to resort to comparisons, juxtapositions and so forth.

In any case, beautiful interpretation by a beautiful woman.

  • ok. I`m going to stop acting like i can play guitar after this.

  • BTDubs its a huapangao so it's technically Mexican. still great thoug. =)

  • this is great guitar playing, wish I could do it.

  • another gringo who wanna be latin tipic

  • that's the last thing we would ever want, sorry beans

  • yeah man!

  • Still the first lady of the guitar. Leona has been a worldwide ambassador for all of us - we who love to play and listen to classical guitar. This is a fabulous piece that blends a few styles together....not just flamenco.

And for those interested, Leona has written some amazing music herself....

  • hermosaa¡¡¡

  • This lady has more class, and more guitar talent than ANYONE who would have TIME to post here, me included. So to all you jealous dweebs, sock on that.

  • the veins on her hand did not happen from doing dishes and laundry!

  • Arriba mi España querida, aunque soy ecuatoriano de nacimiento, pero de madre Española y padre Judío, pero valoro las raíces de mis padres, y como músico profesional pianista que soy, digo pa lante España. Viva Siempre. Simply Lovely...

  • 47 dude,s dont know how to play this song

  • Magico

  • MAGICO....

  • WOW....47 more morons in this world dis-like this performance. Maybe they'd be better off sticking to Lady Gaga!

  • @fxtrader92 Didn'y tou listen to the explanation???? It's a Spanish STYLE piece of classical guitar music, its NOT flamenco!!!! The composer is not even spanish, is cuban (Ernesto Lecuona). If you don't know, you should learn to listen before saying anything. It's a beautiful song, beautifully performed

  • @vdra681029 I'm not trying to stir it up but it may not have been written as a Flamenco piece but it was destined it seems to be played in the style and most people do.

  • @vdra681029 I guess in your idiotic world, only someone from Spain plays flamenco! I play flamenco guitar and Malaguena IS flamenco moron.

Just because the musician calls it "in the Spanish style" doesn't mean it's not flamenco. Flamenco is a "spanish" style of music, moron.

To call it classical is to show your utter ignorance.

Funny. He's Cuban so it can't be flamenco!!!! You truly are stupid.

  • Respond to this video... And her rendition is simply without passion. Her ending is pathetic.

  • Beautiful.. I'm a Saxophone preformer and I have a love for guitar.. She does an amazing job at this song.. Bravo!!!
