@bmxorretw According to one person who reviewed the episode, the pulverizor dropped because the hazards were turned off due to Minion's team tapping out.
Minion sucked after season 3. Not only No Apologies beat one of my favorite bots, Codebreaker the following season upset Minion again and that was a shame. If Minion was the robot from season 1 when it won the superheavyweight championship, I think No Apologies would have a tough time and same with Codebreaker too
or are you confused as to why Magic the Gathering would sponsor such an event, in which case i think your answer is simply: Nerds love violence, robots and Magic the Gathering :P
man i love minion! They did make alot of great imporvements like the more reliable blade, and is hell of alot faster than last season. I do have to give credit for NO for being patient and waitig for such a perfect shot. but i wanted minion so badly to win that season!
I love Minion to death, but props to No Apologies! As far as the lack of Pulverizer hits, I think Minion was already tapping out thats why they didn't bring it down.
that's right. Minion tapped out already. They just showed footage of the arena powering down out of order, so it looked like the match was still going on.
how i saw this fight back then was that the guy operating the pulverizer was favoring minion, so he didn't want to hit it with the pulverizer. it wasn't fair. he was hammering mouser mecha cat bot like crazy in the light weight fight but suddenly didn't do anything hammer hits in this fight when minion was right at the spot.
When you think about it the hammer not coming into play kinda made sense since they were currently trying to evaluate if Minion was still mobile, but it really looked awkward.
luckiest shot in all of televised battlebots history? closest thing I can compare would be towering inferno managing to hit Mechavore directly on his spinning blade ... you know right before Mechavore ruined his shit
hmm.. arent they supposed to seperate the bots if they get stuck together like that? and if they did that i think minion might of had a chance to win.... just maybe
Even if they did, Minion did have his self righting thing moving but eventually everything seemed to die. I don't think he would have won. I love minion though.

smart move, team minion might as well give up or else their $3K+ robot and all that work would've been destroyed by pulverizer.

thumbs up if you think they should bring this back.
gabriell16bishop 4 months ago 3
shouldnt have let the bots be stuck together like that. Minions whells not on the ground prevented him from being able to fight back

@ThePsu9211 name of the game. they should've put stronger armor on minion

@ThePsu9211 Actually, Carlberg said they tapped out because No Apologies hit their transmitter and they lost control of Minion

Whats with all the Magic sponser stickers?
MasterofMayhem1394 2 years ago
@MasterofMayhem1394 Because Magic the Gathering was a sponsor? lol

@Rystification Good answers but neither. I'm used to UK Robot Wars, so I didn't know American Battlebpts were actually sponsored at all.

Even though Minion lost this fight, I really liked the improvements they made to it since season 3.
It was so much faster, and the disc looked a lot more reliable.

Isnt there a certain rule where they seperate bots that are stuck together?
Jerry11606 2 years ago 2
supposed to time out so they can be separated.
clikzip 2 years ago
yes, but minion forfeited, though, as the spike went right through his motor
jiminey6969 1 year ago
@Jerry11606 yeah and they didnt enforce that rule, so the way i see it, no appoligies got extremely lucky

And to think that this could have happened in season one when he (Minion) was going against Grendel.

Damn.
I've always liked Minion.
Do you have his fight from Season 5?
admtm24 2 years ago
he wasn't in it because they entered dreadnought
lampini 2 years ago
Minion was in season 5. It beat Abbadon and lost to Codebreaker.
You can enter more than one bot at a time in a weight class, as long as you have enough drivers. Dreadnought competed in seasons 3-5.

Yeah I remember the builder saying how they got a lucky hit and pierced the radio receiver for the drive-train.

r u sure?... cuz hes weapons wer still working..
johnboyd7 3 years ago
IIRC. The spike hit Minions drive receiver. Which is an extremely lucky hit since the receiver is about the size of a quarter
WeekendDaddy 1 year ago
No Apologies actually pierced the radio receiver in Minion, you see that his wheels weren't spinning. It sucked...
