Well Abney Park started out as a goth band and ended up going with a steam punk Theme.. but its about love of the music.. not about the critique of the lame.

Well, most power stations use a heat source and a steam turbine generator. So you might say it's based on steam power.

But, yeah. This song is not quite keeping with the theme. More goth. Still a good song.

Some are, some aren't. Airship Pirate and Sleep Isabella were always meant to be cut to the studio track as more proper "music videos" with the extra footage. Herr D's Doll, She, Dark & Twisty Road and Dear Opheila with the Aerialist use the live sound. I think for this track there was a glitch during recording that made the audio unuseable, though honestly I don't remember for sure.
