@ShogunATT Nah, airborne isn't special forces. SF is top of the line thing. But you have to be airborne to be a ranger, pathfinder, and SF. It's just an advanced school like air assault.
After graduating jump school, how can you secure a spot in an airborne unit or at least have a better chance of landing in an airborne unit? Thanks for the help!
my life has been signed away to the airborne infantry division in the US Army... i am ready to serve my country in ways that many will not... i am proud to call myself a United States Soldier.... HOOAH!!!!
July 1975 I left Fort Polk, LA after completing advanced Infantry Trng for jump school at Fort Benning, GA.. It was the hottest 4 weeks of training I ever had. When I cherry blasted into Panama and humped all that gear including my prick77 radio with extra batteries and ammo for 4 weeks it did not even compare. c Co 2/504 Inf.
you have to pass the prior protocols.. then if your accepted you go. if you don't pass, then your just not airborne... you usually train infantry first, then later on try for airborne. My brother is a Army Chopper pilot in georgia... He started off as cav.. He had to be transfered.. Even through thats what he wanted to do.
But MEPS have to get approval from " The Rock" Then comes the physical which im waiting for that. The comes the stamp for Airborne. Then comes Hell. haha
well u don't have to do infantry to do airborne, but its easier to get airborne school if ur infantry, like me i got it in my contract, so after i finished infantry OSUT at Ft. Benning i went straight to airborne school at Ft Benning
What does it take to be Airborne Infantry in the Army or Marines? How good is the pay? DO you have to get a really high score on the ASVAB? Im 16, dying to get my life started, someone help me out. Dont be suprised if I message you asking more questions.
Determination and the ability to push yourself way beyond your comfort zone and the natural understanding to do beyond what is asked of you. It's a lot of hard work but it's also very rewarding. You will be along side some of the most well-trained and well-disciplined paratroopers in the entire world, and when it comes down to it, that's all that matters. If you're looking to become one of the best, go Airborne. A lot will be expected of you (cont'd next post)
(cont'd last post) but the dedication you put in will be rewarded in kind. Just remember that being the best of the best is very challenging, and many will try to take that title away from you. But just know that the well known reputation of paratroopers to adapt and overcome in high stress situations has not been earned and cannot be maintained without blood and sweat. AIRBORNE!
I don't know what kind of shitty fucking unit you're from that teaches you to make broad assumptions, dipshit, but I wasn't talking just about jump school. There's a difference between a parachutist and a paratrooper, you 5-jump piece of shit. You know it's a sad state of affairs when I can only laugh at you rather than actually argue a valid point because you have no fucking idea.
lmao i came from a squared away unit and went to more schools airborne being the lesser of all of them in 4 years than most do in a 20yr career... so get over your little airborne being the best of the best crap... just being airborne was badass in WWII but not so much anymore buddy
Bro i have the same problem, im joining up in less than a year and i still dont know which one. Got a cousin in the marine corps infantry and also my dad was in the Army and i have a friend in the 82nd. He told me marines are great IF and only IF they can guarantee you infantry in your contract, army can but im not sure marines can too.
thats a tough one, 82nd has much more training and even marines go to Army jump school so in terms of a availability and readiness to deploy it would be 82nd but Marines are not far behind on the ground...remember that
is this at fort benning?
