  • It is not that it's 3-d with 3 corners. It is cause of the perspective that's complicated like the angles of the corners are different when your looking from the top, or when it's in a parallel perspective. Even some people with sight can't even understand that :)

  • they mke him feel the building and the dummy which is 3-dimensional and he felt that so he drawed 'something' 3-d with three corners. come-on even blind people can do that!! Its not like he painted every window in detail or something else shocking!!! just a building with three dimensions!!!!!

  • Wow!!! Incredible! :O

  • omg i cry!! this is very good!

  • Wow he is blind and he is really good at painting!

  • 6:06 Omg it's not a child you're talking to!

  • @joyfighter ikr

  • How do 35 people dislike this? WTF?

  • @TheOhAte devem possuir um coração cego

  • @lucasbudega I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe he has simply memorized stuff you know, like from talking to people, maybe he learned that the ocean was BLUE then he figured out that his BLUE paint had a certain smell, so, when he paints the ocean now, he knows which tube of paint to grab :) Maybe he was told the common colors in nature, that grass green and roses are red etc. and he combines that knowledge with his own perception of shapes and every time he touches paint to canvas, his mind

  • Amazing!

  • 6:57 "Esref !! How nice to see you!"

  • sauid arabia has significant viewers for this video. eerie

  • How can he tell which colors to use?

  • that john keneddy is so irritating

  • if i was blind the last thing i would do is try to do something that involves eyes..

  • what' the name of this show?

  • @Minecraftinity Extraordinary People

  • @RaybRay89 k thnx

  • Sad truth - today world give You formula for all (how live and do something) but don't give You anything else, anything You can't imagine...

  • There is no way a U of T lecture would have any less than 500 students in it....

  • If he was BORN without eyes, how is he painting real life things and using the correct colors?

  • i'm pretty good at drawing stick figures, that's about all.

  • THIS ARTIST IS BLIND AND PAINTS BETTER THAN ME.

  • amazing

  • How can he know what sailboats etc look like and then know what they look like from a distance xD and how the hell can he draw god damn shadows and shading??? :L ho would you even know what a food painting would like like and the colours! He knows the colours of things? I'm amazed :l

  • BRAVO!!! where's the treat now??? good boy!!!

  • okay, how can he see the sailboats and birds if he has no eyes?

  • Oh my God! Is there an end to your miracles?

  • @schehry Make a person blind .. then give him the talent to paint. A real miracle alright... Just tell your god to keep this kind miracle away from me though.

  • amazing and extraordinary ... go esref !!!!

  • Him? He is not blind. We are.

  • couldnt be as simple as knowing that the farther an objext is the smaller it is. Also, y knowing shapes, things can easily be described to him and this translating into art!

  • a blind painter i hope that comes in handy against the joker :s

  • I think I found the solution to my problem. I must gouge out my eyes if I want to learn painting. After all, painting is art and art is about using one's imagination.

  • lol the translator has an accent but not a turkish one :p

  • 6:07 he's blind, not mentally ill. don't patronize him.

  • @roquesand if you say that than you don't know the first thing about drawing

  • @realistasensocomum what'd i say that implied anything about my prior drawing knowledge? i said not to patronize him, that's all.

  • @roquesand ok look at this wikipedia-org/wiki/Piri_Reis

  • @HDTrailermania not to be rude, but how was that related to my comment?

  • This artist does what all the best artists do: create the picture in the mind before executing the painting!

  • Anything is possible! There is no limit to what we can accomplish with our divine potential! Very interesting video!

  • niggas always wana scan somebodys brain..smh

  • i don't think he did a great job, tbh :/ and i almost don't want to believe this is even true. how does he know what colour things are? and how does he know he's choosing the right colour of paint if he can't see it? and just like someone else pointed out; why does he have a watch?!

  • @anoziraflaminghot Ever heard something called Braille watch fucktard! Yeah the guy is faking just to fool Discovery Channel for decades. Man, some people are simply waste of hydrocarbons.

  • @OKEKOBEB lmao!! i'm just not fully convinced. and you didn't explain the whole colour thing...

  • @anoziraflaminghot picking the colour isnt the problem... Thats easy if the label on the paint pots is in braille or he knows which order the paints are put in. I think actually knowing where on the paper he is drawing is more of a problem.

  • @p1elover i know it's possible to pick a colour if it has brail, but how does he know it's that colour to begin with?? like how does he know a tree is green or that the foam in the ocean is white?? i guess someone can tell him >_> he also said that he can figure out what something looks like by feeling it, but how does he feel the shape of the ocean?? and as far as knowing where on the paper to paint, that seems like the easiest part :P because he can just feel around.

  • @anoziraflaminghot I see what you mean kinda... If hes never been able to see how does he even know what blue looks like. Someone could tell him the ocean is blue but he wouldn't know what that was.

  • @p1elover yea i really just don't see how this is even possible :/ it really would be extraordinary if they could explain it so it makes sense, but to me it just looks like a hoax or something.

  • Truly remarkable!

  • "The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire." Field Marshal Ferdinand Foch

  • Its amazing. But what freaks me out is how Esref responds to Kennedys hand at 7min2sec. maybe he can see auras.

  • either way this confirmed it : )

  • it is merely a sensation of perspective. something scientists never would understand.

  • An anagram of Armagan is Anagram:)

  • but he drew it with 5 sides showing; no more than 4 should be visible from any point!

  • @jerewho lol, give the man a break,he IS blind lol

  • @jerewho it doesn't matter..... he can't see so he doesn't know that!!

  • That someone can grasp and depict spacial relationships without sight does not surprise me at all. What I can't understand, is how he can depict color and light and shade unaided, without vision.

  • At 8:18 How come he has a watch?!!?!!

  • @MrCredulo blind people often have watches that look completely normal but they can open the front to feel where the hands are or digital watches that speak the time when you press a button :)

  • @MrCredulo There are watches for blind people.

  • @MrCredulo It's a talking watch, for visually impaired people.

  • @MrCredulo it probably beeps at every hour :P

  • @MrCredulo 1. never heard of tactile watches? 2. are you from usa?

  • @MrCredulo Maybe he sets it to beep at certain times of day.

  • @MrCredulo it is probably braille watch

  • @MrCredulo sorry, I only saw your question, not the others answers

  • @MrCredulo there are watches designed for blind people.

  • @MrCredulo there are watchs for blind people -___-"and they can know time by touchin it

  • 32 people who disliked this video are to blind to understand this video!

  • He was born without eyes. He seems to have a pretty good idea what nature is like (notice the waterfall).

    This is the interesting bit.

  • Wow, this has to be one of the most fascinating things I have ever seen.

  • This makes me cry.

    seeing this is so inspirational.

  • He knows because he wasn't blind in his previous life and remembers now

  • Sry some things couldn't fit. All this crap is my opinion

  • God did this God did that Who is god. God was a belief system or something made by humanity to control or make us feel that there is someone that is greater then us. We follow this god person because what was written in was is called the bible. How to we believe in this god person when we can believe in other Greek myths like Hercules or Gilgamesh. They were considered as gods for people because they were more better. We as human been have talked about making a world a better place. How come we

  • Don't bother watching if you people are gonna give bad comments... -_- you are not even as good as that guy

  • Ohh my godddd!!!!

  • scientists are curious and forever curious

  • U call that art? I once took a dump, looked down in the toilet, and it was a Leonardo decaprio painting. Didn't want to flush it for a month. Had all of my friends come and looked at my miracle. They were astonished at what they saw. Only bad part was, my house smelled like crap for that entire month.

  • @Lbolting005 hahahahahha

    it was a "Leonardo Decaprio"

    ahahahahhahahahahhahahaha

  • @Lbolting005 LMAO!!!

  • Its a miracle.. Its a sign from God.

  • @TheGreenfrog140 wrong HUMANITIY my freind

  • @lilmadzer ITS A SIGN FROM GOD!!!! nobody can do this..nobody!! Its a gift from God. how can a BLIND MAN who never saw light PAINT???

  • We have to think from the perspective of someone who has never once experienced sight, even light. To draw that was amazing. This isn't a matter of feeling the stroke or not being able to see the drawing as he paints it. It's being able to comprehend the perspective and apply that to a drawing. :P

  • this is real art....not all those idiot artists who think having an artist degree and feel that anything they touch is art and worth millions.

  • uhm he feels the painting after he draws it another way of knowing its their so ya no its not that amazing if he can remember where he put the markings and how big they were he can paint just as well as any of us.

  • sobhan allah! = oh god! how great you are!

  • Erm, how exactly did he know how to write his name? :S

  • this was absolutely amazing! I still have trouble with perspective even when I'm able to see it

  • Amazing

  • i paused porn for this..

  • Tsk, discovery, i wonder what they forgot to mention.

  • Amazing

  • He draw shits

  • Assassin's creed city?

  • If you could see what I feel! Amazing he's deffenately gifted. {:)

  • i wonder how he started off

  • @kespec

Well, visual perception was never my field, but my degree in experimental neuroscience did teach me to evaluate the claim against the evidence.

I'm not saying he's not extraordinary... Maybe if I put it another way: The picture he drew THAT DAY provides only PARTIAL evidence for an innate understanding of perspective. He got the the convergence of perspective in the vertical plane correct, but got it wrong in the horizontal plane. That's one out of two... ( i.e. performing at chance?)

  • It's amazing work.

  • can a deaf person play music, i guess they could feel vibration...

  • I hate to be a downer...but yet again Discovery seems to be glossing over facts and exaggerating the truth for the sake of storytelling.

Did anyone else notice that the guy's drawing was actually inaccurate? Look at 9:13 - He drew 5 visible sides to an 8 sided shape. Then look at the actual building at 9:42 - there should only be three.

Yes it would be great to get clear evidence of visual perspective from a congenitally blind person, but I don't think this has quite done it. Sorry.

  • @mvb101

the point is his understanding of perpective is actual. none cares whether he draws good or not but the perspective he puts in his art. its emphazised in the video over thousand times you still cant understand any shit.

understanding of 3d perspective and depth of world is locked unless you visually experience it.

the guy is blind and yet he unlocked the understanding of third dimension.

  • MAYBE HE IS EXTAORDINARY?

  • if he was BORN without eyes how does he know what the objects look like?

example: a tree or a bird or even another human being if he has bever seen one before?

  • @CallMeKittty by touching them. By touching them he can get a basic layout of what the object "looks" like. Like when you close your eyes and touch a pen, you can feel the outline of the pen, the cap, the tip, etc. but you're not looking at the pen.

  • you CAN see with your hands it's nothin strange paranormal people can do it sometimes too, he is just paranormal and coincidently blind.

  • why does he blink???

  • Comment removed

  • INCREDIBLE! I want one of his paintings, they're absolutely astounding considering he's blind.

  • 6:13

    Like a boss

  • Amazing.....unbelievable

  • wow

  • "That's like telling a blind man what the sunrise looks like" hmm about that...

  • Amazing.

  • Yes, he did draw the walls next to the wall facing him as receding, but on the other hand he also drew the sides as being visible. In his picture you see five walls, looking at the building you see only 3 walls (can't see the sides). So I don't think this can be considered a positive confirmation of his ability to correctly draw perspective. His paintings are beautiful though, whether his perspective is correct or not.

  • how does he know which colour to use

  • @vaiisgod13 I thought that and just assumed people tell him when he feels stuff and asks what it is, what color, etc.

  • @vaiisgod13 he probably asked his mum when he was a kid :/ but he's an amazing artist :DD

  • @vaiisgod13 he probably uses stub marks to tell him which colors he uses on the cup he uses of paint.

  • @vaiisgod13 The bottles/containers probably have a slightly different shape to each, or he can remember that yellow is 3/4 and therefore heavier then green at nearly empty and lighter then his brand new bottle of blue paint.

  • @vaiisgod13 they touch the paint

  • @vaiisgod13 I'm not sure if you question has been answered, but I've heard from art professors (and blind artists) that that can feel the different texture of the paints.

  • Also, re-watch this under the assumption that he's just a simple town con man... it's actually kind of funny.

  • 8:57 am I a terrible person if the first they that came to my mind was "that looks like shit" and proceeded to laugh?

  • imagine it.. you could literally live in a dream. just imagine having your eyes closed your whole life. you could literally CREATE your own world

  • what i dont understand is how does he draw things so accurate if hes never seen them before in his life?

  • but...but...hes never seen the ocean or trees or colors....how...ho...does he know what the colors look like? how does he know the ocean is blue with white breakers. that...thats insane. i mean....it cant be coincidence, he cant just grab the right colors every time. im flabbergasted....great gatsby (yes, this is worth taking the great gatsby in vain)...amazing

  • @beautifulliar5263 Maybe cus People have told him the shapes and colors of some natural things such as oceans and trees?

  • How does he tell the colors apart? '-' how does he even know what the colors look like?

  • Is this supposed to be like a weird episode of "Heroes"?

  • That is amazing!

  • The soul see mores than mere eyes can ever witness.
