  • freaking awesome man! I have yet to get me an old SGI system :(

  • And then the SGI Octane III was unleashed on the unsuspecting populous...

  • Rad!

  • Great Machine I have one O2 with R10K I'm planing to buy R12K soon.. Its old but still rocks as hell.

  • yeah those are nice machines. I bought an old SGI O2 running at 175 MHZ R10K for $200. Very fast. I intend to max it out, add MIDI and video capture capabilities & network it with a Mac. With all the bells and whistles, it should be almost as powerful as any computer on the market today. SGI's were true 3D machines, not 2D and half. So what you see on them is the real thing. Plus they were renowned for their video import capabilities. Very HQ. Use to sell for $15,000.

  • Um.. I have an octane r12K 300MHZ and its definitely nowhere near as fast as any computer on the market today. I still love it and prefer it to a PC however :)

  • Are the demos on a cd?

  • They are the stock SGI demos that come on the install cd's for Irix

  • What about the doom game??

  • that came on the demo disks for the o2

  • How much did you pay for this and is it an r12k?

  • I paid $10 for 2 o2's at an auction. So $5 a piece. It's an r10k.

  • Great deal!

  • the cpu-eater is - eating ur cpu :D

  • Hehehehe

  • the ibm lcd is a nice touch :-)

  • Yeah I was surprised it worked.
