Only in MANY country. Im lucky, in canada, you can get a balisong ONLY at your home and not at public. In U.K. the balisong is a type of weapon. In U.S, this is the same thing as canada i think. In autralia, this is ILLEGAL to own a balisong.

We have strict laws in UK but legal or not, knifes and guns still show up in the hands of those who would use them for criminal activities. Laws like this just strip away the law abiding citizens rights to defend themselves. I often wonder what it is the government actually expect people to do when unarmed and confronted by someone intent on harming you with a knife. It's so stupid, even if you could magic away every knife and gun on this planet, people would just make their own anyway.

prime example of why you need to pay attention to what goes on in politics. also what happens in other countries i.e. EUROPE will eventually happen here. what happens in California, New Jersey, New York, Illinois will also migrate its' way in to your state. look up traffic cams in England,guns in England, taxes in England, then look up the same things in the states i mentioned. example in Europe no knife that can be opened with one hand is legal. think about that for a moment.

also your comment about the higher population. the un statistics for 2002 show that in the us there were 9,369 murders committed with a firearm, at the time the population of the us was 280,562,489. in the uk there were 14 murders with a firearm. i cant find the population for the uk in 2002 but now its 61,399,118. that means the population of the us is 4.5 times that of the uk. multiple the uk statistics by 4.5 and it equals 63. therefore population difference is insignificant, and your wrong.

Ive got a suspicion that this whole rule change proposal about knives is nothing but a ploy to turn more Americans unwittingly into felons over the knives which they already own, which would then in turn mean that they cannot still own the firearms which they already possess, or purchase other firearms from FFLs in the future.
Its just another baby-step towards tyranny from the one.

I've said this on another vid, but seriously guys, by a single edged fixed blade knife with a legal blade length (they're out there). There's no way to call that a switchblade now is there? Everyone who has commented here needs to do what organizations like KnifeRights, AKTI, and NRA suggest and write shit loads of letters and send them off before the 21st get them out ASAP. Some of the major knife companies are accepting letters too so that they can send them off on behalf of their customers. Get it done, complaining does no good if no one who makes these decisions hears it.

depends what your term of switchblade is... if there is a button you press and the blade comes out, thats a switch blade... but if it is spring assist then those are legal as of now but because of this new bill it might make those and all of the manual folding knives illegal
