Freddie's refusal to discuss his sexuality was brilliant. I wish people could understand that music is what Freddie wanted to talk about. Music is what mattered to Freddie. Nothing else mattered.

Mick Rock is correct in saying that Mary was the love of Freddie's life. Mary was so lucky because she was the only one who had his heart & love. And having Freddie's heart & love would be the thing I would want the most.

What a beautiful person Mary Austin is. I never really knew much about her before. I can absolutely understand why they were both drawn to eachother and why they had such a great bond. I worked at Biba's too but at a later time than Mary and to hear Brian May talking about the place brought back so many memories of a time and fashion we will never recapture. RIP Freddie.

Freddie and Mary were lucky to have each other. You can still see how much she loved him, it still hurts her when she's speaking about him. You can see it in her eyes and her expressions. Even though they didn't marry, Freddie still did right by Mary when he left majority of his things to her when he died. He truly loved her.

Wow, pretty surprising to see Mary Austin doing an interview. I always had thought she didn't give interviews about Mercury, unlike his hangers-on like Jim Hutton and Peter Freestone who did tell-all books and shared the embarassing details for a cheap buck. A real friend wouldn't stoop to that (of course, I don't think Austin really needs the money!)

I feel bad for Mary, you can almost see the heartbreak in her eyes. They really did love each other, it's obvious. It was cool that he recognized that he could not give her what she was looking for, and she loved him enough to let him go. What a story!

Sometimes I wished Freddie was not gay and stayed with Mary but I believe his homosexuality greatly contributed to the persona on stage. It's hard to wish another version of Freddie cause in the end, the way he was, might have been the only way for him to shine like he did in life.
