You need to add what some people would call "soul".
I'd call it breathing technique. You think about your breathing, great. Now think about the one of your instrument. ;-)
It's a good thing you recorded yourself. You can listen to it, and try to ear the way it doesn't "sing".
Also, some vibrato is nice sometimes.
Excuse my poor english, I'm both french and tired. Keep up the good work and enthusiasm.
