@humanjukebox58 Agreed, to me this album sounds rather similar to Grave Digger's "Stronger Then Ever" album(whihc is also highly underrated IMO), which came out the same year, this song sounds very much like "Stand Up And Rock"
I don't think this album was that bad at all, it may be a bit too "commercial" at times, but it's pretty damn catchy nonetheless, and it's light years better then most of the garbage that passes for music today(Creed anyone? why oh why did they have to reunite?)
Funny when this came out alot of people hated it including myself. But mid 80's Raven wasn't good, thanks to wacko for wanting to go this direction!!!!!!.... Raven made a big come back with their nothing exceeds like excess that album is over looked and up there with rock until you drop. And Raven's newest album Walk Through Fire is better than Rock Until You Drop, i like both Joe & Wacko but I think Joe would have played better on this record even thou this was before his time!
Is this Ravens best album? Hell No! but I'm sorry this album does not suck. Trust me back in 86 when this came out it was still better than most of the crap the music industry tried to sell as rock.
@Satan8118 I too have always loved this album. It's not their early stuff, but it's great. Catchy as hell. One of many many 80's metal albums I wish were not out of print.
@Satan8118 It was nowhere near their best, but it was a FUN party album. Easy to scream along to, girls loved it even though they never heard who the fuck Raven was.
@Satan8118 wrong. this album sucks HARD. Take it from someone who still has the original Don't Need Your Money 7". Around 86, the people who were into early Raven and Metallica were already branching out to hardcore like DRI, Corrosion of Conformity etc This album by Raven wasn't even on the radar then. It's a real shame, if Raven had kept true to their everyday image they wouldn't have fallen off as hard . . . whaddayagonnado?
im not going to get into a big thing with you guys... BUT this song is good... just plain fun to listen to, and im young(22) this was made when i was just sperm, i first heard this song as part of a sample for a popular california rap group called "the pack"
I agree that this is Raven at their most crass, but there are a few moments on this album that I actually like. The best thing about this album is that it inspired "Life's A Bitch", one of the angriest metal albums ever!
It's not actually "bad"....but quite strange when compared to their earlier stuff....Thank God they realized they were not a hairband and came back to the heavier thing.....their last one Walk Through Fife is awesome.
yeah! i remember it had a cover of "gimme some lovin" on it... you know.. the one that said "so glad you made it..." and i also liked the whole album. crazy getting to hear it again after all these years. REALLY a trip. thanks for posting this! i see you thought it was terrible but i was in middle school and i thought it was great hahahaha. great pop-rock songs!
this is horrible and not Raven. Thier best albums are actually done in the early 90's like nothing exceeds like success was awesome. but no one knows about it......
Rock Untill You Drop and Wiped out both rule too! fuck they all do...RAVEN FOR LIFE!!!
This is one of my best albums, although even RAVEN themselfs say they don,t like it. Hey, the producer is the legendary Eddie Krammer... I think the Atlantic years are the best period for Raven.
I thought it was a good album. I didn't get into their older stuff so maybe that's why. I still have the tape and unlike many albums, I can listen the whole thing.
after reading some reviews on this album I honestly thought it would be way worse. I personally think this song kicks ass..that's why I'm viewing it. but I like a little cheese ...I enjoyed Turbo as well.
Yeah man, this song is good but, overall, there is no reason to buy this album except to complete your Raven discography, or if you really like bad 80's corporate glam.
I love this album and played the shit out of my cassette of it, in my car, until it wore out.

They were following the glam pop-metal trend, luckyly they returned to its roots with "Life's A Bitch"

In my opinion, "Life's a Bitch" is possibly their best, showcasing the bands talent not only as song writers, but as musicians as well.
