I was there in 1994 and I have never forgotten the walk back to the mainland. "Now if someone on the other end tells you to run, you better run because some days the tide comes in really fast. First there is a path, then there is no path." Myself and a few others got almost to the mainland and sure enough, someone started waving their arms and yelling run. And indeed, first a path, then no path. I remember one of the tourists staring at it almost in shock.

Not in England? That's just factually wrong. Modern Britain believes in self determination, if there was a majority push for Cornish independence from England then a vote would be accepted. There is a Cornish independce movement but to state that it reflects anything like the majority is wishful and false.
