@raoulsd Barcarolle Silvano. Look in the related videos section here. Should be right there with that in the title. And that will lead to other full versions and such. :) It's quite beautiful isn't it? I find it as beautiful as the other one that was used at the end of the Godfather Part 3. :)
@ChromatopelmaDude i saw that episode before seeing this movie and was dissapinted their was no shot of Lamotta knocking someone out of of the ring ike that
@lovekyordie15 haha that is broad, id put some chaplin, renoir, soviet cinema, hitchcock and fritz lang in thier to! And if they seem to be un original so be it ! whats yours (roughly as i was not beeing 100 percent serious)
@dckitchen haha I feel you, I was just messing around. Although those directors and films are very "film school"-esque, I think people get lost in the semantics of films. My favorites are the ones that I can connect with on the most personal level. my list probably goes something like this, and in no specific order: bladerunner, cashback, return of the jedi, lords of dogtown, casino
@lovekyordie15 yer and IMO those films are a bit to 'popcorn flick' for my liking although bladerunner and casino are found films of mine, cashback is also underrated i think its a good feel good film especially in the past 10 years which IMO have seen a real lack of great movies, no ?
@dckitchen I guess we have different opinions on what makes a good movie. I can respect a movie for its technicalities, but my list of favorites are going to be films that I connect to as well. I grew up on star wars and will forever be obsessed with its fantasy galaxy. I dream of growing up in Venice and in a group of kids like those casted by Hardwicke in Dogtown. I can relate to the story in cashback and the sense of simple beauty. It is a combo of good technical taste and personal connection
@lovekyordie15 Yer good point, i think thier is a difference between my 'favourite' films of all time and the films which i regard as the 'best' usually they side together yet they are not mutually exclusive for example waynes world, star wars as you said and other films
@lovekyordie15 that was arough group to spark debate; in my top movies their would be some fellini (viteloni/8 and half/la dolche vita) some chaplin (the kid, the circus, modern times) some hitchcock (rear window, rope, north by northwest) some kurosawa (red beard, seven samuari, rashmahon), early soviet and german cinema (battleship potekim, nosferatu, the cabinet of dr caglieri), french cinema (renoir/ joan of arch) Kubrick, allen, ford, leone and a handful of other classics, original or not !
This scene has the best song in the film, and one of the best songs in any film.
Many other directors would serve these kinds of scenes as filler. Not Scorsese. Every single thing in his classics has purpose.
I love this scene, its unique song and how it's in colour. It's as if to say THIS was when he was on top of his game, but he always wanted more. "I was blind but now I can see".
Scorsese is a genius. This scene remembers me the scene on Citizen Kane, where Orson Welles tells us the story of the couple during 20 years.
Scorsese did it but on 2 years. It shows the most important stuff for Jack ( his brother, his wife, and furthermore boxe.) Brilliant idee of the old screen and the photo (which shows that all Jack's past is ephemer. Nice scene because of his simple history, beautiful music.
Both side of Jack: his happiness a 1:17, and his rage at 1:20
This scene is like an intermission but it's also so important and beautiful that you can't take your eyes off of it... a perfect way to kind of reflect on what you've already seen and get ready for the downfall about to come.. this film is epic entertainment!
I feel like these home movies are the only happy memories he had in his life

For me it goes 1. Citizen Kane, 2. The godfather, 3. Casablanca, 4. Raging Bull, 5. A clockwork orange, as the 'best' movies of all time
