@Xeera I think the reason the intro is getting crap from people, because the sound of the instruments themselves weren't very good. And yes, I have played the original Yoshi's Island on SNES as well as the GBA remake, completing BOTH versions with 100%, which is no easy task. I know fully well what the original sounds like, because it has been my favorite game since It came out in 1995. I'm actually 24 years old as of this date, and I gave my honest opinion. Not my fault if others agree with me.

I see comments like "intro needs work" and such-

But that only tells me this is being listened to by Non-Musicians.

The point of the intro is revealed if you ever play the game-

Whereas the intro is a foreshadow of seeing Baby Bowser approaching in the back- and then the sudden break into the song is a symbol of his onslaught.

The breakdown in the song wouldn't match at all if the intro didn't exist.

If the intro didn't exist- This would be nothing more than a solo.

Playing the game helps. .

@TheJetpackraptor : That's what I love in video game music. It's really there to settle up the atmosphere, alongside the background, color sheme and all... It's part of the experience, and it's even more important than the graphics (or even gameplay sometimes). People who play video games without the sound just see video games as toys.

@Unworkable34 : Techno remixes sure aren't very good, but Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's entire soundtrack is techno, same for Super Paper Mario, and that doesn't stop it from settleing the atmosphere.
