  • i would like to know where can i get me some needles like the ones u have there im a beginner thanx

  • Thank you, thank you... I am a semi-beginner knitter that wants to do a wrap (I can knit the heck out of a scarf!) and the pattern called for a set of circular needles. I so needed to be shown this!

  • @valawoosie

glad my video helped you. please keep watching and look for me on facebook too.

  • I got it!!!! I am the "Do not turn" knitting person. The way to do this is to knit across in ONE color, and then back in SECOND color. Thank goodness, this is a great pattern otherwise.

  • Thanks for the video. It has helped.

  • @BohemianThings

glad the video helped. I hope you'll keep watching and look for me on facebook.

  • Fantastic, thank you for this, I've been given a set of knitpro's with a subscription to let's knit magazine. I was hoping I could knit straight with them, now I will be now able to knit on the tube without poking commuters with my needles.

  • @WeAreTheRivetts

I love thinking of you knitting on the tube and NOT poking anyone with needles. Have fun knitting. Look for me on facebook too.

  • I will try to explain my problem better: I am knitting a kerchief the direction says for every other row -" Knit across row, DO NOT turn, sl stitches to beg of needle to be worked from RS again" How do I do this?

  • @milsha100

I'm sorry. I'm still stumped on this. do you know about the question forum at Ravelry? They might be able to help if you haven't gotten an answer yet.

  • @milsha100 Double pointed needles perhaps?

  • The pattern I am knitting (Berocco Claudja scarf) says "do not turn" but knit to end of row. How can I not turn but "push stitches to end of needle" and start the next row? Thanks for your great videos.

  • @milsha100

I d'on't understand that direction at all. Sorry.

  • @milsha100 I wonder if you have to push the stitches back to the other end of the needle then start knitting again? Or you don't turn the needles you just slip each stitch one by one onto the other end so you can start knitting the next row without turning the work.

  • Do you know if all interchangeable cords fit all needles regardless of brand

  • @mrslgp

    I think so.

  • Thanks for getting back to me. I figured it out. After I finished casting on I was knitting into the first stitch I cast on not turning my work and starting with the last one.

And I love the like lace stitch!

  • @evekel7

glad it all worked out and I also love the like lace stitch. I use it all the time.

  • I have tried repeatedly to knit straight acrosson my circular needles but when I get to the end on my first row I have a "tail" attaching the end to my beginning (?) ! It is not the end of my beginning slip knot. I have no idea why this is happening - any ideas?

  • @evekel7

this doesn't make sense. You cast on, knit the first row then turn the work around as though it was a straight needle and knit back. do NOT join the work. keep trying. you can also see written instructions and video on my page at wonderhowto where I'm judytopaz.

  • I am self taught knitter and would like to start making shawls but I am not sure which circular needle to purchase or where to get any advise

  • @mrslgp

I prefer wooden needles, but you need to find which ones you like best. You can buy needles at an yarn or craft store or on line. thanks for writing. new video going up today. look for me on facebook too.

  • I am self taught knitter and would like to know which circular needles you recommend and where I can get them I am mostly knitting scarves but would like to start on shawls

  • Thank you soooo much! This has really helped me! Im 13 years old and I just opened a knitting and crocheting business. there is no way that i could make a big blanket with the small needles i have now! But now i know how to do this! Thanks!

  • @Reneec3343

I'm so glad I could help. Good luck with your business. I was about 13 when I started knitting and I'm still going strong and loving it. Please look for me on facebook.

  • lol never mine 1:42 answered my Q

  • I want 2 make a baby blanket so is it the same way as what you are doing now????

  • @0neskinnygirl

I always use a circular needle because it holds more stitches and is easier to use.

Please go to my Facebook page for more.

  • I have started a triangular shawl on straight needles, and have gotten to the point where I can no longer knit well due to crowding. The instructions say to switch over to circular needles.... I don't know quite how to do that since I've never used circular needles. This video helped A LOT but if you have any tips for the transfer it would be MUCH appreciated! :) Thanks and love the videos!

  • @jellatin124

No problem. On the next row just use the circular instead of the straight needle. When you get to the end of the row turn the work around and start knitting with the other end of the circular. You will be using the circular instead of 2 straight needles. good luck! let me know how it works.

  • "never falls into the sofa" i feel that

  • @Shramir

    yes! love it!

  • I was wondering if you could help? My pattern is in the round but I wanted to do it flat. So what I'm confused on is when it says knit 1 round, purl 2 rounds, knit 2 rounds... But because I'm doing it flat I turn my work... Not too sure what to do!??

  • @Shnexy13

you're right. turn your work. good luck with it.

  • because of you, i've invested in a few pairs of circular needles.

  • have fun using them. I almost always use them for everything.

  • I am really frustrated with trying to straight knit on circular needles. It is my second attempt plus I watched a couple of videos. I am trying to knit an afgahn starting with casting on 230 stitches. Please help!!!!

  • You simply treat the circular as if it were a straight needle. Cast on 230 sts. Start at one end, knit to the end, TURN the work around and purl back...or whatever stitch you are doing. hope that helps..

  • Thank you so much for this awesome video. It has showed me what I need to know.

  • Thank you!! I actually just watched another video, while it was informative, it didn't answer my question about weather I would have to purl to get stockinette stitch when knitting a flat panel on circular needles.. Thank you again!!

  • Thanks for posting this. My friend was so confused when I told her she could knit a scarf on circs. This video really helped her.

  • Hi Judy... I love that scarf! how did you get the colors to go toegther like that? Like, All the colors (i think 3 it looks like) i like it looked like purple and lavender but how did you get them to be toegther? i think I have in idea how but I dont wan to mess up :). Thanks for the teaching, You a awesome teacher ! ! !

  • Check out my video on how to make your own tweed yarn. It's easy. You can take any 2 or more yarns and just knit them together at the same time. good luck.

  • Hold all of the yarns together while you knit (:

  • I see in the video..That you knit normally, and then you use the string to go arond the needle a second time? does that make the stitches straighter?

  • The reason I do that is that I'm doing the Like Lace Stitch. Watch my video on Easy Like Lace Stitch to see how it's done. On plain knitting you would NOT wrap the yarn over. That would give you extra stitches. Thanks for writing and please keep watching for more new videos. I try to get at least one up every week.

  • I asked the question about why round needles for baby blanket and you have answered me!! I am going to use the like lace for a baby blanket..it seems very easy. I will tell you how it comes out

  • Yes, it is easy and it'll probably go fairly fast once you get into the rhythm of it.

I put a new video on yesterday. Check it out.

    Happy knitting!

  • Hi Judy! I am one of the people that e-mailed you re: how to do this stitch. Thank you so much for remembering and for taking the time to post this video! You have such great tutorials and I'm learning a ton from you! Thanks again:)
