  • out of all the games to steal assets from morrowind is the best, everything sounds so good.

  • looks awesome!

  • cool !

  • nice! remember runescape in 10 years ago =)

  • Stolen SFX from Gpotato

  • @lurviQ SFX are stolen from the game TES3: Morrowind

  • @NukeCorruption NO, GPOTATO, FLYFF.

  • @lurviQ get your facts straight and listen the sound effects of morrowind videos

  • @lurviQ pretty sure it's Morrowind, I should know as I racked up around 200+ hours in that game

  • this is cool. i like that you can see what you're wearing, monsters keep following you, and the two-player idea is neat. i might download and check it out further.

  • @myyellowdream thanks. i'm programming a remake of this

  • @NukeCorruption cool are the controls in the game!?

  • @halo122706 not ingame, they might be in readme.txt ..can't remember

  • Any updates?

  • @mykhalable i'm not updating this. sorry

  • How exactly do you draw out your character. Do you use sprite sheets? How do you draw the armor/weapons on the character without having to create a completely different sprite of the player holding the weapon or wearing the armor. I'm very lost in this concept, as I'm currently making an RPG myself

  • @yyz200 every graphic is a separate image, like 0.png 1.png 2.png and the game code creates a kind of sprite sheet out of them when the game is started. The player images are separate, like hand, leg, torso, so I could animate them ingame easier just using rotate functions and not having to draw each animation for moving and attacking. the equipment player wears is drawn on the player/behind the player/or in from another angle, depending which direction player is looking

  • @NukeCorruption

whats the graphic library you used to make this game?

SDL, OpenGL 2d? or which else??

  • @devilazpl SDL and OpenGL

  • watching half naked two men beat the crap outta of an aligator made me laugh my ass off

  • What are the controls for both players?

  • @mykhalable player one (right) arrow keys for movement, i for inventory and mouse of cursor. player two (left) WASD for movement, tab of inventory and YGHJ (if i remember correct) for cursor. I know that's it's a bit bad for second player to use the "mouse"

  • @NukeCorruption Cool thanks. How do you get it split screen? By the way, I played up to the big bad rat boss, but haven't done any of the quests yet. Keep up the good work!

  • @mykhalable Sorry! I forgot the splitscreen! I uploaded executable for splitscreen gameplay (you still need the original files). Download the splitscreen executable file and copy/extract it to Tantere main game folder and start playing some 2-player! You can find the download link in the video description. Let me know if it works correctly.

  • @NukeCorruption Nice job really god game, did u use SOCKET for the multiplayer game?

  • @JaoAssy game does not have any online multiplayer. it's only (splitscreen) two viewports for player 1 and 2, both players use the same keyboard to move around, etc.

  • I want to make a game like this someday, after my second one is (eventually) finished.

  • deloria(dot)draignet(dot)com great 2d RPG

  • pretty damn good man i like the feel. you should look at rpgwo.com, similar graphic style with an excellent crafting system, player owned land, magic, etc,..

  • Hehe, the memories from Morrowind made me forget to say this; Really amazing game! It looks really nice!

    Keep up the good work

  • Hehe, I was so amazed by the memories of Morrowind, I forgot to say; Really Nice Game!

It amazes me you did this in such a fast time!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Oh, I was so amazed by the Morrowind sounds I forgot to say.. Really nice game!

Far best game i've seen by Indie programming in such fast time!

  • Ah morrowind music, gives me so much memories!

Just got a flash back from my first "lan" every, me and my best friend playing Morrowind through the night, oh yeah!

  • Out of all the self made non-professional made games I have seen, this is the best by far. Nice sobe lizard sprite lol. 5/5.

  • @Zatchbelly97 hehe thanks

  • @NukeCorruption your game is AWSOME you should add muiltyplayer support me and my buddys would mostlikly play (if i remember) im learning c++ and such so to me this looks really really cool i can only make text based games with tut's help but i really enjoy your game if you have any tips on what i should be studying up on pliz help me

  • @who885 I'm working on a sequel to this one, it is in 3D and has currently basic multiplayer system as addition

  • You are amazing if this only took you a few months!

  • Could you make a tutorial about the basics of making an 2d rpg in c++ :) thanks.

  • @Programmur RPG is really wide aspect. first version of this was just a splitscreen co-op with random dungeon full of mobs. then I added more and more stuff to the code

  • @NukeCorruption yes but could you make a guide of maybe making a model and annimations like moving and a little map and combat? That would reeally be awesome.

  • Looks really neat. :D How long have you been working on it?

  • @LusikkaMage did this like almost a half a year ago, it took some months I guess
