I simply don't have words to say how amazing is this video, it seems my 9 months-old German Shepherd has a cataract and I'm checking all over the internet to know what to do, I am very sad at this moment but as well I have a great hope that with surgery we can solve this, Thanks a lot for the video it gave me a great hope =')
I'm looking for answers for my 17 year old poodle.I'm heart broken.I hate when people say,"He's old,why would you spend all that money to remove his cataracts"?They just don't understand.
I've heard about these eye drops for dogs that disolve cataracts called Can-C but I am VERY skeptical even though there are people on Utube who swear by these drops.Did you ever get your German Shepard in for surgery and if so,how much if you don't mind me asking ?Thank you !
Im so sorry for your dog, fortunately surgery for cataracts are becoming more and more accessible, I recomend you to visit more than 2 veterinarian to get many choices, in my city I had a choice but it was not necessary, I went to my University and vets removed some kind of splinter which was causing the cataract and after some weeks my dog's eye recovered completely, good luck for your mate, health has no price but take care with people that are just after money! best wishes!
Thanks for your interest in the video. I have a Storz Urban. Phaco settings are: power 80%, aspiration at 130.
Preop mydriatics are: diclofenac every 30 minutes for 2 hours, tropicamide every 15 moniutes for 2 hours, neopoldexamethasone drops every 30 minutes, 10% phenylepiphrine every 30 minutes for 2 hours.

I'm very impressive. It's fabulous!!
Could you please share the setting of your phaco machine? And how do you deal with the perioperative miosis ?
Thanks very much for your kindness.
