  • This sucks.

  • I have friends who do shit like this all the time and it sucks just as much ass

  • @IAMTHETICKTOCKCLOCK Go listen to Fallout Boy.

  • epic. this ca been rockin it before youtube.... throghj weird catalog i find album not know who is try good keep. ttyl8r meow...

  • lol... minimalist video? or you waving the CD case in front of the camera...?

  • Brian Jones.

  • Anyone who says they like Jandek is a fucking liar.

  • @geldofpunk32 Anyone who says they know what other people truly like or do not like is a liar :)

  • what a terrible video. great music though. it's my first time hearing it.

  • an understanding of eastern music, in which dissonant arrhythmic melodies are common, actually makes jandek a lot more palatable, because it opens up your mind to a different concept of music

  • I would totally give this guy a rim job.

  • This is absolutely ridiculous. This is an obvious ploy to make an interesting documentary about a reclusive, allegedly 'talented' musician/songwriter. The reclusive part may be correct, and there' a story, but the "music?" I mean, come on!!! What music? I should use the same marketing scheme with my 3 year old child, who when she plays my guitar, sounds just like this. As long as the story behind it is convincing enough, It'll become brilliant music of the avant garde :)

  • I understand what you are saying, but just because it doesn't adhere to the common principles of popular western music, doesn't make it any less of a song, just a different type of song. I've never heard of Jandek before today, so I don't know his story, but in his music I hear an innocence and beauty that probably wouldn't be there if he learned to play guitar "properly"

  • @3563313 You sound like the same people mocking Pollock's paintings in the 50's. "oh my kid could do that"

  • he looks like andy warhol.

  • I want to hear someone say,

"For as many years as he's played, you'd think he'd figure out how to actually play."

    I think that'd be hilarious.

I wonder if he ever uses prepared guitar or what type of tunings he uses.

this song doesn't really sound that interesting to me. I'd like to hear really noisy recordings if he has any.

  • check out electric end on the album lost cause. if you want a noisy recording.

  • He does have noisy recordings. Listen to Telegraph Melts.

Some of his live albums are pretty loud too, check out Glasgow Sunday.

  • I kinda wish white box was in stereo instead of mostly mono

  • Isn't "White Box" a masterpiece? I am not very proggy in my listening habits, and generally think "Concept Albums" are pretensious, but this one is scary and pretty honest. If you are afraid of death, it really sets off some frightening, challenging thoughts. You're right-it would be better in all stereo.

  • you can't want to expect something,or else you'll be wrong, and blame him for the wrong you feel

  • Quoi?

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEAH!! The almighty-f&^kin' "Glade!!" So cool-sounding, so twisted. It makes me want to write my own acoustic instrumental.

  • Indeed. Dzhandec/Jandek/Yandek/Iandeque/Zhandek/Chandeque/Danjek Lives

  • Old Japanese music is what comes to mind.
