  • hermanos les pido orar mpor la vida de mi madre ella tiene cancer maligno ela es cristiana su cancer se llama liposarcoma retroperitoneal gigante . oren para que se forme una cadena de oracion, gracias por todo. muchas bendiciones

  • How great would your cities be or the world for that matter if everyone just followed the 10 commandments. Just get rid of the greed, gluttony, sloth, lies, killing, adultery. Would that really be such a horrible thing? Would it really be horrible for people to respect their neighbors? Excuse us for thinking something is bigger than us. I look at the miracle of life and SOmething I don't understand because I'm not brilliant had to create me and my environment. It's too big and complicated.

  • You can't just follow the 10 commandments and ignore the rest of what you're following. Its the same God who condones slavery, homophobic murder and many other disgraces. You can't pick and choose what you like about Christianity and ignore the rest. Yes there is something bigger than us, but its called the Universe, not God.

  • You need to read verse 2. Pay attation to the words "Singular vow". Look them up in Hebrew you will find todays contract.

  • Anyone who denies that the Bible condones and even advocates slavery has either not read the Bible, or he is lying to redeem his or her faith. Its not like the verses about slavery are even framed in figurative language, where an apologist can conveniently resort to "contextualizing it" as a colorful way of speaking about something else. The verses blatantly talk about how to keep slaves. So much for God inspiring morality.

  • FireThunderTV, you need to read the bible for YOURSELF. Don't assume that it was written by god and that it is morally perfect in accordance with today's standards just because some christian DUMB FUCK told you so.

  • The bible you supposedly read must have been missing Exodus 35:1-3. Those words were DEFINITELY written by some ancient IDIOT. An all knowing, all loving god would not say that anyone who works on the sabbath must die, you stupid fucking asshole!!!

  • @lotanddaughters It must have been missing Exodus 21 as well, because that gives a FAR less ambiguous definition of slavery. The verses Laura quoted just say that if you can't afford to give your slaves as a tithe, you can pay the equivalent amount instead to demonstrate an intent to give an offering, and get a conditional blessing rather than an the up-front blessing you'd receive from offering your slaves.

  • You seem to need some help in understanding spiritual things. Can I suggest writing these people? assistant@responsecenters(.)org

  • LOL. can I suggest that if you take your spiritual lead from the bible, then you are in no position to be giving spiritual advice.

  • Your disdain for God's Word is clear. I won't pursue this with any further. Theres no point. Whatever I say will and has fallen on deaf ears and you're not receptive at all to spiritual matters because of a hardened heart. But always remember when you are ready, God will be there for you waiting with open arms.

  • I knew there was a reason I read these channel comment. they always give me a good laugh. :D

  • Yeah i can agree with that comment. The bible seems more like it was written with a satanic character as god rather than a loving father. I suppose at the time that must have seemed like a loving father for the people it was intended for (people who hated everyone else)

  • I looked up that domain and can't figure out the organisation that resides there. I looked up the IP and found only the ISP.

  • It's not an IP - it's an email address.

  • Yes but I traced the IP of the responsecenters name to sort out what organisation that you are affiliated with. It's hosted by some company called rackspace, operating out of San Antonio. All I know is that your group isn't big enough to actually own the url, but get it for a discount in exchange for the host maintaining ownership.

  • I have no idea what you're talking about. When I suggested writing this person (assistant@responsecenters(.)org) it was clearly an email address. How you get that confused with an IP address, I don't know. Just write them and you'll see. How you think you can trace IP addresses from YouTube, I don't know. I highly doubt that's possible.

  • I can see you understand about as much about the internet as you do about real life in general.

  • Just look it up in the bible! It's in the REALLY NEW testament, here is a sample from the Book of IETF, RFC 21:31, you may have heard of it...

"And the Holy Host spake unto the Ether and said, 'Oh Server, please reserve a DHCP lease for me, and make it pure and just so that I may surf the heavens of internet smut"

Whether you are ready or not, God will NOT be there when you die... your only time in this world wasted... you'll never get that back to actually do something positive, so sad... ;(

  • Sarcasm (Noun): a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual.

Did you look up IETF, RFC 2131 at all to see that this was a joke?

Except the part about when you die, now lets get busy to making something productive out of the one life we have instead of waiting around for what comes after death.

  • I don't know you. I can't see you or hear your voice. All I can see is words on a page. So I wasn't sure if it was a joke. People believe alot of strange things. You never know if they are really serious or not. Especially here on YouTube.

  • Dude, if the first couple references didn't tip you off to the joke, the sentence "Oh Server, please reserve a DHCP lease for me, and make it pure and just so that I may surf the heavens of internet smut" really should have.

I shouldn't be surprised you're this dense; your channel proclaims your 'hero' to be Sarah Palin after all.

  • "And the Holy Host spake unto the Ether and said, 'Oh Server, please reserve a DHCP lease for me, and make it pure and just so that I may surf the heavens of internet smut"

Maybe its just because I'm a geek, but I laughed my arse off at that line :)

  • In Iraq, I had an atheist friend. We were on the same MP team. The other MP's would get together and pray before a road mission. This friend and I thought it was funny because of the irony. We knew (as atheists) that the enemy was praying for success (our demise) too. We both made it back to the U.S. in one piece after being in that hellhole for 16 months. Religion is a joke! Hoowaaah!!!!

  • Jesus = bronze age myth. The reason why theists get angry when you tell them their religion is founded on NO EVIDENCE is because deep down, they know it. No sane person can possibly believe the RIDICULOUS story of a virgin birth and a man coming back from the dead. If you believe that myth, you will believe ANYTHING.The Muslims believe some illiterate sociopath received the final revelation from god and went to heaven on a winged horse! I am truly amazed that people believe in such bullshit.

  • Why are you trying to justify the 'holy babble'? It is a silly book of bronze age myths. i was raised Christian and did not believe any of it for a moment. I used to tell my bible study teacher, "That sounds silly." I am a moral man, a father, a husband, an enforcer, a war fighter. God belief is a crutch and a sign of mental weakness. I do not trust religious people's morals. Why do you need fear of hell to do good? Weak! If you need some fairy tale deity to keep you in line, you are weakling.

  • All God has done was put Guild lines around a social structure that man LATER decided that they wanted to pervert and corrupt as we usually do. It's mans fault that we have slavery that oppresses and forces people into labour. It was God that made guild lines to avoid this. But in the end of the day like everything else we have a choice and consequences to follow.

  • Not to mention Jews today still follow these laws!! They don't accept Christ so they are still under the Old Covenant, how many Jew Slave masters have you met?? Non!! Because first off they are not allowed to oppress secondly that type of social structure has evolved with the economy its not needed. Slavery as we know today is a result of darkness and sin in man's hearts... not what God ordained or Commanded.

  • Ephesians 6:9 and Colossians 4:1 talk about the relationship between a slave and master in those days... That they are to respect each other and treat each other fair and just. Slavery back then was a means for one or a family who could not provide for them selves to sell them selves to someone who could. Slavery was also issued if someone owed someone and could not pay. Now-day you do not see this because we have an abundance of jobs, loans, credit cards and what not.

  • Slavery back then was a common practise outside of Jewish culture meaning God could not have ordained it if those who don't believe in him practised it: Genesis 12:10-16 Egyptians gave Abraham cattle and slaves to settle a wrong doing against him.

Deuteronomy 15:12-15, here indicates that Hebrews could sell them selves individually into slavery... How could slavery back then be oppression as we know it if people SOLD themselves into slavery??

  • Ok I have posted on other videos talking about the Bible Condoning slavery. I will make it crystal clear here too.

The Bible does not condone slavery God did not ordain slavery. The slavery in the Bible is not the same as oppressed slavery as we know today:

"Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."

    Exo 22:21

Jews are commanded not to oppess anyone, for they just escaped slavery....

  • Well... wait until the new testament... not only did Jesus not speak against slavery... to Christians, we are suppoused to be slaves and Jesus is suppoused to be our master. We are suppoused to obey Jesus, blindly, without hesitation... and how are we to know how to obey Jesus???

Simly, by obeying what our church leaders have to say.

  • I think everyone has at least a minimum level of knowledge about the story of Moses. This story is something that is overlooked by people who say the Bible condones slavery. In Exodus 5:1, Moses was instructed by God to tell Pharaoh, "Let my people go!" (release them from slavery).

  • The Passage she posted was written after exodus from Egypt... Remember, the Old Testament was written after they left Egypt. So yeah, Moses was opposed to having his people enslaved... but in turn, Moses was fine with havign his people owning slaves.

  • It won't matter what I say, or what anyone else says...what they try to show you that you're taking these Scriptures out of context and not understanding them from it's time period. You'll just keep finding excuses for not believing the Bible...afterall, that's all you want to do anyway, isn't it?

  • Exodus 21:1-4: "If thou buy an Hebrew servant(slave), six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself."

Note: Only Jews that were slaves were released on the 6th year.

  • No... you said that Moses was against slavery because he wanted to free the Israelites enslaved in Egypt, which is common knowledge.

    And I dissagree.

I went back and read what Exodus had to say about slavery... which was a book written by Moses.

Well... Moses was fine with his people owning slaves. Exodus 21:1-4 also 21:20-27

(There is no distiction between the words servant and slave) Servants were bought, could be beaten by thier masters and had no freedom amongst other things.

  • You keep trying to inject your opinions into what the Bible says. No matter how I try to tell you that what you're thinking is not what the Bible says, you won't listen. And I don't know what. Do you hate Christians and the Bible?

  • I'm not injecting my opinions into what the bible says. I've read it more than once.

The bible endorses slavery. You can say that slavery in the Old Testament is a metaphore of humanity being slaves to sin. I understand that. But at no point, does the bible speak against slavery. On the contrary, it endorses slavery many, many, many times.

If you don't like it then don't read the bible, but please do not try do defend it by saying that others are taking this out of context.

  • You aren't looking at the text in a historical perspective. In those days, slavery was VOLUNTARY, 2 pay off debts. It was not FORCED. There R many videos on this website 2 help U understand from a Biblical perspective the context in which slavery was used. I think I stated my opinions on this already, and I don't see this going anywhere, except in circles. So UR going 2 have 2 do your own research. I am not sure if you are really looking for the truth, or if you just want to badger Christians.

  • I don't desagree with you because you are Christian, but because you are wrong.

Yes. In biblical times some people sold themselves as slaves to pay depts. They also could buy back their freedom.

Not forced? What about prisoners of war? or criminals? They were enslaved

In biblical times slaves could be beaten by their masters. Granted, slaves were not treated as an inferior race, because there were slaves from every race. That does not mean that it was a less despicable institution.

  • The Bible is a historical document. It is merely documenting history, telling us what was going on during those time periods. Writing down history is not condoning (or preaching) slavery or the wrong actions of those who had slaves. I keep saying it's a historical document, but you aren't listening.

  • Actually, for reporting history directly, the bible is pretty poor. You can use it indirectly to study the mythology of ancient hebrew culture, how they saw themselves, what they desired, what they believed, etc.

The Jews of the old testament are 'god's chosen,' freed from Egypt and sent to Israel to repeatedly commit mass genocide, with the aide of their god, to claim back the 'holy land' that they had long since abandoned and had been settled by other people.

  • Of course if you actually study archeology and history you can learn a lot more interesting stuff about what really happened in ancient Palestine. I encourage you to go to the library and check out some books on the archeology and history of ancient Palestine.

  • If you make claims then you should be prepared to defend them yourself. It also generally helps if you worked them out yourself, and aren't just parroting what some authority figure told you. Or does the church discourage that kind of thought?

  • I have other videos to back up what I say. I don't know why people insist on arguing with me when all they have to do is watch the other videos. If they don't answer the questions to your satisfaction, there's hundreds of other videos that can. Debating is not my style, and I'm not here to argue with anyone. I'm also not omniscient. So if my answers aren't to your liking, then write the email address I gave you. I know they will be happy to help you. I've done as much as I can.

  • Because if you make an outrageous claim it's customary to defend it, not to leave it to the person questioning the claim to research defense for such a claim himself. Otherwise, the claimant demonstrates a lack of credibility and critical thinking skills. If you are not prepared to defend what you say, then don't say it.

  • Love how you made sure to show it clearly stating "Old AND New Testaments" in case some moron tried to automatically fire back saying the OT doesn't matter anymore.

  • Sure it does, see Matthew 5, 17 :-)

  • Atheism has been distasteful for many religiously fundamentalist societies, we can say it runs societies. But denying God and religion can only result into mass opposition.

  • Religion has been and still is today the great destroyer of civilizations. Books such as the bible, torah, and koran have inspired more hatred and suffering than anything else throughout the history of the human race.

  • And religion has caused bigotry.

CASE IN POINT: Many Christians hate homosexuals because the bible says it is an abomination, this is just one of many examples by one religion. Religion is the cause of a great deal of prejustice.

CASE IN POINT: The both the old and new testaments support the notions of slavery. My proof just watch this video again. Furthermore, just look at the history of this nation. African Americans were treated as second class citizens even after the abolition of it.

  • 1. I know it causes bigotry against homosexuality, and I find that extremely unfortunate. However, the original reasons for calling it an abomination (gay sex, not homosexuality itself, mind you) were pretty good. Back in the pre-lube and condom days, putting it in a guy's butt was extremely dangerous (bleeding, disease). All the Levitican laws were made with the well-being of the Hebrews in mind.

    2. No it doesn't. The video shows a completely irrelevant piece of scripture not about slavery.

  • The title of the video is the Bible Preaches Slavery. It clearly shows that it not only says that it's ok but it practically endoreses it. The Levitican laws wern't about protecting them form dangerous desease and bleeding like you claim. If it were it would give penalty of death to those that do.

    Ex.Leviticus 18:22

    Genesis 19:23-25

    Leviticus 20:13

  • I know what the video title is, but it doesn't mean it's right. Read the passage yourself, it's not about slavery, FactVsReligion took it completely out of context.

And yes, it was to protect them. They had the death penalty as a deterrent, because Israel was in a fragile state. A bit extreme, I know, but necessary.

As for Sodom and Gamorrah, they were destroyed for overall wickedness, not homosexuality. That's an all-too-common misconception.

  • True enough, the Bible doesn't say you MUST have slaves but in giving regulations about slavery it implies that slavery is ok, not a bad thing. This just shows that the Bible like ever other book was written by humans based on their experiences and understandings. Parts of it may be inspiring but it is not inspired.

  • IMHO, the Levitical laws were originally instituted to keep the Hebrews as a distinct people from the people in the lands they invaded and the people in the lands around them. In order to remain ritually clean a Hebrew could not eat like or worship like other folks. A male Hebrew was permanently marked by circumcision.

  • All of the areas of the country that slavery was legal had a great deal of antiblack fealings. Many of whom claimed that god made them superior to those who were discriminated against. Look up Mormonism, they are out right bigoted against African Americans. It literally says in their bible that they are superior. In summary you are right. Much of the suffering and hatred that we see in the world is caused by bigotry and prejudism, but the vast majority of that has a deep religious background.

  • Religion suits best madmen and fools!

  • Incredible. The bible was put together 1700 years ago and just recently slavery was outlawed in countries with Christian influence. What else does this insidious book encourage. Stoning, drowning, beheading.......................???

  • slavery, hate, racism, bigotry....you name it...it's action packed.
