Pumping so much money into our military is a similar problem to pumping so much money into an educational system that doesn't work. The only reason why such money would be placed into the military if the U.S. intends to use it actively. Does that mean more wars? Does it mean more secret military and intelligence operations? All the technology spent on by the defense budget goes into science and technology developement.
The US budget isn;t that different than other countries. We spende 4 times as much as China, while our gdp is 4 times theirs.
