  • DL has always flown a daily service to Melbourne including the MD-88....

  • i jus got back from arizona las nit and

  • DL has always had a MD88 into MLB the RJ is here too but DL has always had MD88 service into MLB

  • They used to fly the 737 their all the time.

  • Why was a delta md88 flying from atl to mlb thats an ASA or Mesa route flying a CRJ

  • They needed a bigger plane.

  • Oh thats really suprising because As I rember that flight is usually practly empty for everyone goes for the cheaper tickets at mco

  • This was back in 2006.

  • @capcadet417 Delta flies a mix of mainline and RJs to Melbourne...right now they are flying 4 daily flights on the DC-9-50

  • This may sound trivial but does anyone know why the strobes on the tips of the wings don't start flashing until rotation? And then at the moment of touchdown they stop? Was it just a design that McDonnell-Douglas made when building the MD-80 Series?

  • the reason they start on takeoff is because when the plane lifts its nose it knows that it is airborn so the strobes kicks on and sends a msg to the computers that is is off. And the same thing on landing but the other way around as soon as the mains hit they shut off and send a msg on the ground. Just like wen the close the main door and the anti collosion light comes on it sends an out time and when it parks and shuts off the anti's it sends an in time

  • Long live the Mad Dogs!

  • Delta Shuttle? I think

  • omfg i love that sound right before maximum power

  • wow this must hav been a nice ride lol

  • That was ATL-MLB flight.

  • I live in Melbourne, Fl...that's an old standby for me...quick flight to ATL or the other way around...nice.

  • What time was it when it took off?

  • This one went out late about 21:50.

  • I can't recall for sure.

  • then they had leather seats and still do

  • i heard that they are going to add Wifi service on the MD88 don't you need power they should add power ports

  • They need to put the wifi on a different plane and ditch the 88's. They are so loud by today's standards that I don't have to look up to know it is a MD-88.

  • Delta should get rid of them the MD90 are ok better than the 88s

  • Good ol Melboring Fla. Been on this flight many times.
