I think Ben Did remember that sayid shot him. this is why throught either the 4th or the fifth (i cant remember which one) Ben uses and abuses Sayid.Ironically this caused Sayid to shoot ben. I don't think its really a time paradox

sayd kills ben, purge never happens OR happens differently (maybe one of the losties end up having to do it, and earlier than 1992, possibly explaining why Rousseu's message wasn't there). If the purge happened differently or not at all, it would also explain why DHARMA signs were still up in 2007 barracks. We'll see
