  • I once set fire to a bunch of geeks playing this crap

  • warhammer rules i dont care what anyone says

  • so...much...unneccessary garbadge.

  • Guys he not giving tips they are advertising this golden things

  • But they don´t talk???

  • GW, stop making fancy bullshit, stop launching new editions everytime simplier and remeber that this is a strategy game, not a fucking tabletop hack and slash.

    I miss sixth ed. =(

  • yup this dude is def a virgin.

  • I've got gaming aids ...

  • LOL english version for deaf people. WTF

  • i once painted three space marines

    i made them all different

like i painted one as a Russian and called him Dmitri, and i made another gay and called him Herman

and then if you play the game its like noooo Herman is dead!

  • ive heard theat gw wants to make more plastic miniatures instead of metal ones..\

  • @MrThespayro Let's hope that all togetehr :-)

  • How on Earth is this English?

  • the only stopping me from wanting to learn and play this game is the price of the fucking sets, how the hell am i suppose to afford this?

  • @BuddaHotPopcorn don't buy a 2000pt army in one go. Play smaller games, have some self controll and buy a box a month instead of three. i can name a few.

  • @johnkerry7 That is what I do, and it does work. Once you have saved money enough pluck up the courage to buy together the rulebook, the army bok, a batallion and the cheapest general to have the core, then plan carefully your army and build it very very slowly with a more gradual expense.

  • @ilania95 yup, i gather enough to buy another vampire battalion box, havent purchased a GW thing since early last month, and im still painting the box set. I really really want some dragon princes to make into blood dragons, however im waiting till i gather enough money to not make the purchase hurt my other duties. Self control, you and i have it, some people need to learn it.

  • @johnkerry7 In the same way, I bought WH starter set (Island of blood) in February, then I added in spring a hero and a small regiment to the (alredy working) skaven army in it, and now I'll use a relatively small part of the big amount of money I have saved to buy the batallion and some other stuff. So I have built a more or less 2000 points army, but in a 5 months period and. I hope our exemple has taught someone else how good self control is:-)

  • they should do this with the warhammer 40k counter set cause i have no idea what any of those are.

  • As helpful as this is, without the verbal description of what he's making reference too its a tad hard to follow if your not an avid player. However I still find it interesting

  • I really like the undead army present in this vid, particularly the skeletons.

  • "Gaming aids"

    Yes.

  • My biggest complaint is the PRICES i still don't get how you guys can justify price increases, in aus it coes $50 dollars for a core unit box set $50!!! are you guys just going to keep increasing the prices until a box set costs $100? or $6 for your paint i can't get the SAME PAINT for $3, its flat out robbery.

  • The templates seem interesting but this whole set of *Gaming Aids* is sadly another release from GW in attempts to make money off useless crap. The combat resolution counter has to be one of the dumbest game tools I have ever seen but it did make me laugh thinking about someone being dumb enough to use it.

  • anyone see in 1:16 that the empire go from the middle not the furtest point like the acctuall rules lol nice presentation GW

  • CHEAPER MODELS! It's just too much as it is now.

  • Games Workshop is the Aids of the gaming world.

  • Guess more players need help on their math to keep track of combat resolution?? Why can't people do it all in their heads?

Whatever happened to just using the good old fashion tape measure?

  • If the collectors edition sold out, why do they still have it for sale at

    games-workshop . com

Availability: This item is not available now, but you can preorder it

A mistake? Can anyone confirm that it has sold out? Same with Engineer's Ranging Set?

  • @Alarion

I guess there sold out in different parts of the world, they had so many copy's dedicated to different places, i think the UK still has copy's left, but the U.S. of A. is out of both, still have the Engineer's set, but the dice are gone.

  • @Stoutzombie

It's to late now.. I was thinking it was a mistake so I didn't order, and now they have sold out..

Now I will never get my hands on one. cry! :(

  • @Alarion

Chances are try ebay. who knows, in a week after release you can get one their ><

  • This stuff is a load of fancy shit that will just hinder the game GW profit whoring at work! If you buy this stuff then you have more money then sense!

  • @jayfuture187

Right. How dare someone pay for something frivolous that they enjoy.

While These are obviously gimmicks and fancier versions of what is already out their. What is wrong with spending an extra 30- 80 bucks on a game that already cost 400+ just to have a competitive army. By your logic, Sense would mean not buying anything from GW at all. At the end of the day, you have physical models on a shelf that you put together, painted, and ultimately created.

  • That blast template is kind of stupid. It's just going to create arguments whether something is being touched by then 5" template, or whether its just under the fancy spikes and all that crap on the outside. And hard rulers are terribly awkward to use on the tabletop.

And at the end of the day, this is just painted plastic that looks like it's on the verge of breaking at any moment. The prices are outrageous.

  • @4rkadi in what way? in that you cant buy a 2000pt army in one go? maybe, but then again nobody is forcing you to play "competitive" tournaments. GW after all produces games that are meant at its core to be played for fun with friends...i.e spend $150 or so and play a 1000pt game and be happy.

  • And one die cost 1.5 bucks. What are thinking GW?

  • All this stuff quite useless, exept the Engineer's Ranging Set, and very expensive too. Rules comes so dissapointed. Almost all of my friend leave warhammer for another gaming system. Great thinking GW, if you want to destroy fantasy battles you going just right.

  • instead of making crap like this, figure out a way to make your hobby cheaper so that it doesn't go under.

  • @papanurgle25

I don't Think they will go under, they sold out of both the gamers and collectors editions in under 3 days. The Collectors edition netted them about 2Mill alone.

If the Gamers edition had just as many copies, i say that's at least another 1.5 mill. that's over 1 million dollars a day for 3 days. I really doubt they are destroying their game of warhammer.

  • @papanurgle25

This is some good stuff maybe you should get a better job..

  • @papanurgle25 And produce this nearly unuseful stuff to give it as a present for customers who spend a lot!

  • @papanurgle25 they are not a charity and they aren't forcing you to spend the money for $2000pt armies in one sitting.

  • @papanurgle25 how would it go under? spend your money in increments instead of all at once and dont play big battles unless you want o.

  • @papanurgle25 Everyone is commenting that, but i really dont belive they read any comments.... it's sad, because their profit would maybe double in a short time period if they did lower the costs. ITS ALOT of people whom LOVE pc/console games that would absolutely LOVE wwarhammer, but why would thye bother? 50 euros for a Brand new game and maybe 500 euros for an army + paints to get going. Not quite comparable, and kids can forget to have enough money. Really sad to see this franchise die out.

  • @Anilithun no they wouldnt. PC gamers, most, play those games BECAUSE they dont like tabletop games. Also, keep in mind, GW is unlike ANY other table top game in that they have retail stores etc etc. Not to mention, the cost of living has increased so the price of stuff has gone up for almost EVERYTHING. It is not GWs fault if companies that employ people dont increase wages. And another thing, if GW lowered there prices they would suffer what people like to call shortag.

  • @Anilithun PP expereinces this almost every day. If all of a sudden a land raider was retailed at $30, they would not be able to stock the amount needed to keep up with demand. They would either have to keep the supply low, or they would have to increase production that would in turn increase the price again to cover the production price. So, you have a choice, you can either wait weeks upon weeks for your brand new models and rules

  • @Anilithun (if prices lowerd and supply ran out), or bugdet your life base upon what YOUR job pays you. Again, it is unfair to bash GW and suggest that they are doing anything OTHER the running a company. Remember econ 101, as cost of living goes up, the ones hit hardest are older people (Social security or something similar in your nation) and minimum wage earners, simply because there wages dont usually go up as fast to keep up with COL.

  • @johnkerry7 its just that now, ove ther past 15 years or so, the table top gamers (who i might suggest the majority of work at lower end wage jobs) are finally seeing the reality of cost of living against wages.

  • Why does this need to be translated into multiple languages? THERE I NO TALKING.

  • @seag0d123

Because GW is full of idiots?

  • why not use the old trusty paper and pencil???

  • curse you GW and effective marketing!

  • "SILENCE!" @NominusTheWise

    For the Emperor!

  • seriously if the whole set wasnt over 100 dollars id be interested

  • I like it. The tools don't break immersion in the same way the old tools do.

The engineers meaurer looks like it could break any moment though.

  • @BaileysBeads

    Don't say that. I bought one ><

    And the gamers edition.

  • coooooooooooooooooooool ordering norm rulebook tho

  • I might buy some of them but i dont like that measuring device. I will stick to my tape measures.

  • Looks really cool, but they're all really bulky and mostly unneccesary. I'm probably not going to buy them.

  • Can't wait to play my Wood Elves in this new edition!

  • i like them they look very empire technologyish, wont buy them though unless there is something that is vital for the game that i don't already have

  • totally redundant items, a ruler? really? Like people don't own that already.

  • @fear432 I like them, the decoration looks great. Especially that little 'line of sight' arrow isn't reduddant, clears a lot of issues when gaming. :)

Of course they are things people already own, although it is nice to have some pretty shiny stuff. Why else, for instance, renew the model range? I like the decorated templates etc, and it gives a bit of a in-universe feeling. And personally I just think it looks cool. :D

  • @asgardlegacy

sure but they'll charge a fortune for them and generally it's the newer players who buy into GWs gimmicky items, such as this one. Of course, some of those items are pretty neat, but honestly all or most of them can be found in high school level geometry sets

  • @fear432 but not in awesome gold painted plastic with cool designs.

  • @BayxHarborxButcher

sure but how much are you willing to pay for some shiny school supplies?

  • The way the demonstrator rolled some dice before charging his models in at around 1:24 looks like it could be one of the changes in the new rules like rolling for the distance of charge like war of the ring?

  • @mallaryduck It is, this has been a long standing rumor, it is generally accepted that WHFB is being simplified, taking ideas from WotR

  • @Skringly Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a bit dissapointed to find it's going to be simplified

  • @mallaryduck was it not a leadership test or something as he was charging undead?

  • @heppellpot No, charge distance is determined by base movement + 2d6" in the new edition.

  • Great-looking stuff, but I'm sure about 90% of the price will be for the Citadel brand rather than actual utility: Just wait for some clones to get cracked out ;)

Though they do look exceedingly cool...

  • omg these gaming aids look fairly awesome i'd be interested to see if more people start playing warhammer.

  • Is gaming-aids an special aids that only gamers get? :O

  • less convenient templates, harder to see under

  • Very cool to give the game a nice in-universe feel, I like it :)

  • I prefer my current GF9 charge arc template!! Sorry ladz!!

  • Very pretty! They do look great and very useful!

    40k versions would be appreciated.

  • i have bought collectors edition yess!!!!!!!!!!

  • Would love some 40k themed gaming aids

  • Waiting to see these up close at my flgs..

  • they look very nice but aren't 100% necessary, it isn't difficult to work out combat resolution. and what is wrong with a tape measure? Saying that I will still probably get them :P

  • Okay, the LOS/charge arc tool is going to be REALLY useful, as will the charge range and combat resolution tools. Great ideas on GW's part.

  • that all looks awsome

  • very fancy have to get my brasso for them lol

  • some might be useful but most can be made for a fraction of the cost. For example the corner thing to test arch of sight....folt a pice of paper at a 90 degre agle and there you are.

  • @jaws900 I think these are just for rule of cool, considering they will probably still sell their previous stuff.
