  • I have a technical question. For the first time I hooked up my guitar to Garageband and it sounded fine. The part that confused me was that when I played it back after applying one of the amp simulators, I got this inescapable buzz that ruined the track. There was no such buzz when I wasn't using the amp simulator. Is there any way to get rid of that buzz? I would greatly appreciate your response, because I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere else. Thanks, Lewin.

  • dude, i love all your videos. very helpful.

  • how do you take a video of the screen? is it a screenshot thing on the computer??

  • garbage band it's just a toy, you must to get better software¡

  • @pedroparamo9 You're wrong! It's much more than you realize!

  • @pedroparamo9 You sir are completely and totally wrong. I use garageband and the stuff I do sounds perfectly fine.

  • @Tviruskillu maybe you are a beginner¡

  • @pedroparamo9 Why don't you listen to my tracks before calling me out you douche.

  • @pedroparamo9 Garageband is Logic with a simpler skin. It runs off the same power and system as Logic does. It is not a toy. You can go way in depth with it. Don't be dissing on Garageband just because it came free with my laptop.

  • @Tviruskillu hi¡, that would be fine to listen your tracks¡, that would be more appropriated...

but I've tried another software like Protools, Cubase, Wavelab, Reason, etc. and another format plugins, like VST, RTAS, TDM, Sound forge... and I can say, Garage band is not the best option, is good, but not the best. But if we can listen your wourk, it would be better. thanks.

  • @pedroparamo9 I have my music on my profile man. And I still like Garageband but Logic is my latest investment. I'll still use Garageband for certain things but when I get Logic then I'll have something better.

  • @Tviruskillu yes you are right¡. Logic Pro it's better, and both they're compatibles. Good music¡.

  • @pedroparamo9 - totally untrue! It's only limited by your own imagination, creativity and expertise. If you have a clear idea of what you want and the understanding of how to achieve it then anything is possible. Successful output from creative software apps depend upon user input.

  • @oshawaxpress there are a lot of limits in garbage band, the sample rate (44.1) vs professional software 192 khz, the plug ins are very bad, the worst, but we must to try the real amplifiers, effects, and dynamics processors...that's the real sound, the real music, not the emulations.

  • Did you use a midi controller on this or just the keyboard on your computer?

  • @pedroparamo9 minimizing your tools often yields greater results and more creativity. really, garageband is all you need as far as production unless you are stepping into more electronic stuff. It's the song that does the work. production is just showcasing what the song is already doing.

  • @VcookiemonsterV hi¡, I think Logic Pro is far better software, it's professional and it's a "big brother" of Garbage band, I recommend you, and Mac think it's a big step into the musical production, even more, they're both compatibles¡...recently I've tried Logic PRO and it's great, like the other Pro software ( Protools, Cubase, etc.)

  • Which interface would you recommend to a beginner, a Presonus firestudio mobile, or a Focusrite sapphire 6 usb interface? I hear a lot of good things about both models.

  • Can anyone tell me how he was able to reveal those extra buttons beside solo and mute? Thanks

  • @tonglil Go up to the top menu and click on "Track" then select "Enable Multi Track Recording". You'll see the little red button come back.

  • @GaragebandandBeyond Thank you very much. This has been very helpful!

  • @GaragebandandBeyond

Thanks, now what about those other two?

  • @tonglil What are you talking about?

  • The only thing they removed was that red button.

  • you remind of JD from scrubs

  • you remind of JD deom scrubs

  • could you do a green day guitar sound on gb?

    id appreciate it:)

  • @nikolaisaskator you could get something called "Guitar Rig". thats way better than the effects&amps that are featured in GB!

    good luck.

  • you and your buddy marty schwartz are the frikin men

  • I am adding distorted guitar as my main rhythm section so what should my settings be for that guitar in terms of compression, reverb, and EQ?

  • I totally agree with your opening comment man, do you work in a studio?

  • Thank you Lewin for your tutorials! Your insight is top shelf

  • i have question can use garage band plugins in cubase

  • How does he make those cool videos before the video?

  • I really do appreciate these videos but it sounds like you are talking more about composition rather than production value...

  • Good stuff again......keep it up.

  • do you always use the amp and effect sounds from garageband or is it only for when you are not using your own amp to record electric guitar?

  • I have been using the GB amps for a while now. Mostly for convenience. Plus it is nice to be able to change guitar tones LATER in the recording process if I need to.

  • radiohead is the shit

  • thanks Lewin.

    Excellent video clip.

  • Good Video.

  • honestly, these videos are awesome, and you are really talented with recording. Great video, again!

    Keep them coming

  • The only thing I don't like about this song is the singing. While it's not bad I really don't like the style. Otherwise I loved the mix you did a great job.

  • I think it's unique and original. His accent adds to it as well.

  • first view, rating ,and comment, im proud
