im a new zealand meter reader and our handhelds are alot different we only read gas and eletric here in Hamilton, binoculos is a very good idea I must bring that up at another staff meeting cause if theres a dog on the property we dont have to set foot on it if we dont want to, most of them a very vicous and some of them are very friendly, rural stuff is the best nice views you get to see and alot of off road driving
They left the part out where the company asks why only 300-400 were done when they got back to the office. My crazy company thinks 400-600 can be done a day on average. Electric/Gas both outside & inside. Not to mention they question workers the estimates vs total reads completed. Wish companies would just leave workers alone and let them do their job as best they can. A mirror makes a great tool for reading meters in hard to see areas like behind bushes and tight clearence locations.
Lol same here, interesting to see we use exactly the same handheld on the other side of the world. I would love to have this route though, all outside meters by the looks of it
poor mailmen are always crying about the dogs they have to deal with. they only have to go to the front door, and most of the time, just to a mailbox. the meter reader has to go in backyards, climb under porches, etc... boohoo mr. mailman

Also dogs are 1 thing - humans are worse!
