The whole Colonial Gardens, Iroqouis Park cruising to the top of the hill, going into Ehrlers Dairy for BIG ASS scoops of Ice cream, and all the while living and loving my life there when I was growing up!!!!
Great song. I grew up in the metro Louisville area, in Southern Indiana in the 50s and 60s. I can't imagine a metro area having more quality musical performers than we had back then. They put out a lot of great regional songs that could have been big national hits had that had the distribution. This song is one. How about "Small Town Gossip" and "Soft and Pretty" by Cosmo and the Counts,,"This Old Heart," and "Look Homeward Angel" by the Monarchs, to name a few. fan36, we DID have it made then!
I still live in that neighborhood and remember the Jerry's. It was located behind the Colonial Gardens and on the other side of it was the Ehrler's Ice Cream store. I also remember cruisin' the Ranch House drive-in restaurant on Winkler Avenue.
