The reason it doesn't sound like never alone by Barlow Girl is because it isn't by Barlow Girl, it's a different song by Lady Antebellum

I had to find the original to hear what this should sound like. After I heard it, your version made more sense :-) But it does sound stiff and a bit like playing by numbers. The lack of singing doesn't help this impression.
