  • so what part of the video contains the burnout?

  • @berserker2111 The tire on the opposite side is burning out.

  • Hey, it may not be a Cummins.. but at least its a diesel... kinda sorta somewhat sometimes maybe....

  • cool

  • the 6.5 is more of a car motor anyways, i got one in my 1 ton its better than a big block but its no cummins

  • Why a 6.5 they are F...in JUNK!!! They aren't stong at all. I'm a mechanic and I have seen my fair share of busted crankshafts, cracked heads, scored pistons, bad injector pumps, control modules, dropped valves, and the list goes on and on. 5.9 Cummins and 7.3 PowerJokes are 1000's of times better than a 4.3, 5.7, 6.2, 6.5 diesel and even the 6.6 Durajunk!

  • @mclarmer you are right you cannot beat cummins, forget that ford rubbish.

  • one wheel wonder!!!

  • never seen a detroit in a car before but thats sweet

  • you should put posi on that.

  • HHHmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!

  • One wheel wonder go go go...LOL. Sorry my truck is the same way, its a stock 2002 Dodge 1500. One wheel all day long man...lol

  • What kinda miles per gallon u gettin with that? And thats an awesome car you got there. And the 6.5 turbo diesel motors were not junk, its just not many people like them because there not as powerful as a cummins or powerstroke. But they are reliable motors( why would they use the 6.2 and 6.5 in the military hummers and trucks if they were junk???)

  • @472twintwo those hummers are junk,my buddies who had dealings with americans while serving in Kosovo tell me that hummer drivers carry an oil catch pan with them and put it underneath the engine on parking, they then refill the engine with this oil before proceeding

  • get a posi rear axel or locker of some sort haha

  • wow... bubba and the wild child are fucking douche bags.

  • Could have used a real diesel instead of a POS 6.5L

  • @bigbubba357m

you could sit on your ass and talk shit on the tube.. oh wait, you are!!

go build your own and then talk. you jerkoff.

  • @Ricardodelamuerte I have many of them. From old T/A's to old Chevy trucks. Thats how I know the 6.5L is junk. Anybody that knows anything about cars or diesels knows that they are junk. Bottom line the only thing worse than a 6.5 is the old converted 350 or fords 6.0L. Sorry to burst your little bubble.b why do people have to resort to personal attacks when they are told the truth? Douche bag

  • @bigbubba357m whoopy doo for you!! so get on the tube and diss some dudes project!! super cool of you!!

  • @Ricardodelamuerte Look dip shit I wasn't "dissing" his project I was "dissing" the POS motor. Don't get me wrong the car is cool but the motor is junk. If you dont like my comment tough shit because I dont give a shit what you think.

  • @bigbubba357m you gave a shit enough to reply. I got under your skin. you can suck it!!!

  • @Ricardodelamuerte You thin so huh.......

  • @bigbubba357m

yup. I totally thin so... heh heh heh

  • @Ricardodelamuerte lol i totaly fucked that up. I meant to say you think so. But hey what the hell ever.

  • @Ricardodelamuerte shut the fuck up , damn

  • @bigbubba357m i have to kinda disagre i have one with 400,000 hard pulling miles on it and still runs like a champ never rebuilt

  • lol, its a one wheel wonder

  • listen 4 one its a piece of shit diesel its not like its a cummins or a duramax and 4 too try doing it with a cooler car fuck those gay four door cars get a real nova or like the car on here ummmm 1970 mo9nte carlos with a CUMMINS 24V yea nice try but not cool

  • @TheWildchild59jr

then go watch spongebob videos you queer.

  • hey bud get a rear end differential non slip lock will help make the two wheel spins and not just one

  • Man those were some pretty good burnouts from a diesel to say the least!!! And i gotta say that putting a diesel in a nova is one of the wildest things ive seen in awhile...cool deal man!!!! very ingenious indeed! :)

  • I like it its different a diesel will out last any gas engine and is better on fuel.

  • 32 MPGS???!!! Man thats insane! Nice ride!

  • lol one tire fire.

  • get over it your video sucks bbc

  • A 6.5 litre diesel engine in a Chevy Nova? I can't imagine an engine that size being able to fit comfortably, let alone the drivetrain being able to withstand the torque of such a large engine.

  • @Seattlecarnut It's no bigger than a chevy big block

  • Comment removed

  • @mad4diesel I suppose if the drivetrain is able to withstand the high low-end torque. The biggest engine offered for the Nova at the time was a 5.5 litre V8 gasoline engine, wasn't it?

  • @Seattlecarnut These engines only put out 385 ft-lbs of torque, which isn't a lot. From the factory the largest engine that came with these cars is the gasoline burning 5.7L (350cid), and with a couple of parts swapped, and a tune up these engines can put out more power. The only advantage these Diesels have is the fuel milage. On a good day the 5.7L gas engine will get 20mpg, the diesel on the other hand average 30mpg, and where I live diesel is 10 cents a liter cheeper than gas.

  • @mad4diesel Cool! It's too bad the Diesel didn't sell very well.

  • @Seattlecarnu Every engineer I've ever met had a lobotomy when they graduated, they have no common sense and refuse to listen to the anyone for a solution, GM had a few of these, there were a couple of simple things that were problematic that GM refused to fix. It doesn't help that all the tree huggers are trying to ban these engines even though they produce less harmful emissions than their gas guzzlers.

  • @mad4diesel (laughs) A lobotomy? Why they never bothered to fix the problems before the cars left the assembly line is beyond me. One thing I've never understood is their attitude towards the way other car maker's r&d. I've heard them call either Mercedes-Benz (or was it BMW?) being masters of overkill.

  • @Seattlecarnut and that is why GM and others lose sales to everyone else.

  • @mad4diesel Unfortunately.

  • @mad4diesel I've never understood why these "tree huggers" would want to ban diesel powered cars or trucks. They get better fuel economy than the same vehicles with gasoline. One could run it on veggie oil (bio-diesel) if one wanted to. It's just bureaucratic bullshit, that's what this whole deal is keeping us diesel enthusiasts from buying and using their vehicles for their intended purposes.

  • @Seattlecarnut How about the chassis? No-way I'd dare put something so torquey in a stub-frame car without at-least adding 2x3"-tubing connectors... And maybe a cage.

  • did you do the conversion or was it originaly like that.

  • 1 wheel peels arent really all that good for the rear axle.

  • This is the truest example of a "sleeper" I have ever seen...

  • im not sure about any one else but this fucking guy is a retard thumbs down mother fucker

  • @a9mmlugar fuck you mother fucker, dont watch the video then

  • Any Nova without s Small- or Big-block motor is a winner by me!

  • lol

  • not sure what he was going for I had a 77 nova with a 40 over 454 343 posi and a wide ratio muncie 4spd that all you had to do was dump the clutch nail it and it would literaly boil the back tires till they blew out if you were stupid enough to do it. Didn't have to hold the brakes to burn out and at 80 mph in 4 th all you had to to do was gas it to break traction and leave the two prettiest black streaks down the highway and still got 21 mpg on the highway

  • @bpktrucking 10 more miles to the gallon and originality? maybe thats what he was going for

  • That's certainly, uh, different! I think I'd give that an 'A' for original. Too bad there's so much pissing in the wind against it. Those people probably don't matter to anyone except themselves anyway.

  • I think a posi is what you really need hehe.

  • Cool ride man. Detroits aren't built to pump out crazy power, they're built to run strong and last long. And to not cost a fortune. I would tell you to put a posi in it, but that's just encourage you. In my opinion, burnouts are really kind of dumb and wasteful. How is it cool to hammer on your drivetrain and burn your tire just to spin your wheels? I just never got it. Donuts are bad enough, but at least those are kind of fun. Maybe having such a lame burnout will keep you from doing it to much

  • haha there is so many haters out there!!!... its cool you put a diesel motor in this car i bet it took a while to fabricate everything people just dont know how much time it really takes i have a 1984 caddilac diesel it got 33 mpg to 37 mpg without ac on the motor quit @ 230,000 miles!!! and i got a 1971 gas 350 oldsmobile built 300 hp for it.. people keep saying why didnt i just replace it with another diesel like a cummins or power stroke duramax way to much fabrication involved period...

  • one legged..

  • ...one wheel wonder. Still badass though.

  • spent all that money and didnt even put a posi in it

  • seeing black smoke coming out of a gas car, that fucking owns.

  • this thing would be a sick boat hauling beast

or great for bringing the track car to the track

    nice job bro!

  • car needs a posi.... and a d-max, get rid of that junk slow ass 6.5 !!!!

  • Damn, better than my Daddy's Oldsmobile diesel for sure.

  • Awesome burnout, especially on the left tire! Also dig your exhaust leak - and the fact that you turned a cool nova into a slow piece of junk truck :)

  • ahahahha

  • i think your the one on welfare if you cant afford to BUY a car and its alot cheaper leasing 1 car every 2 years then buying a new one every 4-5 years so whats youre point

  • Whatever you say faggot boy. This guy has no "skill" because he is driving a tin can. People who have "skill" are working and paying for nice things like I do. But you can continue to masterbate over scrap metal and junk if you want fuckin rube.

  • @TheDrakenZ

thats cool. You are still a faggot though. I drive a new truck every 18 months and the homo in this video drives a tin can that probably breaks down every 2 weeks. Peace.

  • lol i drive a 84 chevy dually never broke down once while my friends brandnew silverado broke down hmm thats weird considerin mines just a tin can. right?

  • @moonbat42 You know that buying a new truck on a regular basis is just about the gayest thing you can do short of sucking dick on a regular basis, right?

  • @moonbat42 Your "nice" or our "NICE!!", you consumer? Takes guts to go against the "wind" (Trends), and this guy certainly has it. Enough of it to showcase it here on the "world-stage". As for the whole idea of "Newer is better"... I've seen far too-many flawed "Improved" products over the years to gulp that Kool-Aid. Or should I say: New Coke?

Finally, some wisdom: Just 'cause someone can afford something, it don't automatically make them worthy of it. Hot car don't make-up for chit driving.

  • YOu really need to make a friend so they can man the camera!!! Diesel power!!!! Check out Audi and their TDI race car!!!

  • It is so weird to hear that 6.5 indirect injection engine in a Nova--those were not available here in the states. They put them in trucks and very rarely in a caprice--certainly with nowhere near the power yours has (they were not turbo'd). Cool car.

  • i could be wrong...but im pretty sure detroit never made a 6.5L

  • Yes they did. Lots of them Look up a Pre Dramax GM truck. Hummer H1. ETC.

  • your half right, detroit design the 6.5l but gm built it

  • It appears you need a locker in the back end. One wheel wonders don't score any ladies.

  • Budget build. Fire up the welder.

  • diesel POWER!! nice

  • How you like them spinning tire

  • what year is that?? I have 78 nova custom with a 305 small block. I have seriously been toying with the idea of putting a diesel in it. how hard was it to do??

  • I love that its also a four door.

  • a sleeper with a ton of potential.......

  • Cameraman rules!

  • yeah because its on a Tri-pod :-P

  • Nice dude, I want to do a 6.5 conversion myself.

  • Very cool conversion! Do you have a webpage at all with the swap details?

  • Im glad you finally decided to show us the side with the tire that spins.

  • no ofense bro but either that motor is weak or youre lying, how does a fucking 6.5 unable to spin both wheels?

  • it doesn't have an lsd, thats how its not able to spin both wheels.

  • no posi you dumb shit.

  • thats awesome lol i got a 69 ova with a 307 but im a cummins fan n want a 6bt in there =O

  • thanks for all the replay`s. the milage is about 32 mpg

  • What motor mounts did you use to put the engine in? The stock gasser (small block v8) or something else? I have a 6.2 powered stepvan that runs great, but I know that that motor in a lighter chassis would get killer mpg.

  • I have a corvette diesel with the same motor.

What milage are you getting with the nova

  • is this a joke?

  • i need bigger pipe. ur constricting flow to much with that 2 1/4 it looks like

  • sorry thats pretty weak

  • Dude: Limited Slip Differential, OK...

  • Have you reprogrammed the computer yet? A simple handheld tuner will do wonders for power and fuel economy. Check it out.

  • 1. the 6.5 doesn't have anything really available for obd2 tuning.

    2. i maybe wrong but if i had to venture a guess this car is probably using a fully mechanically governed fuel system.

    3. to one of the guys below this comment the 6.5 power specs ranged from 180hp/360ft.lbs - 215hp/440 ft.lbs either way it is more power than a nova needs which therefore makes it awesome right off the bat but without more information i wouldn't be throwing numbers around saying they're correct.

  • Oh, your engine has a computer. Being a 95, It may have an obd1 or older system. In that case, you don't need a tuner. You should be able to swap the actual computer chip. And even if you don't want a hotrod, a chip change should increase fuel economy. Ask a knowledgeable mechanic or consult a service manual. Good luck.

  • Question... Is it that same 6.5L V8 Powerplant the exact same one used in military humvee?

If so than that thing can rip you arm off clean! :-)

  • Yep, same Detroit Diesel.

  • no luck.

  • Yup, I was a disel mechanic myself, and worked on both GM's and Cummins. The Cummins is clearly the better engine by a wide margin. But, do you know how expensive they are? Even for a scrapyard one. It's the same reason every one uses 350's in hot rods.

  • detroits usually sound better too lol, but from what ive sen and read, cus im not a specialist or mechanic or anything, just a fan, is that te cummins are better for many reason.

  • @mulletstang Detroit Diesel was a GM subsidiary at the time.

  • can imagine the torque!

  • Very nice diesel conversion, i have very fond memories of the old Novas, esp with built smallblock motors, but this is very, very cool for a Diesel nut like me. This rates right up with the Cummins 5.9 in a Monte Carlo for the cool factor.

  • oh! its a 4 door :(

  • I love it...a diesel Nova. Did you install it? Great job man!

  • Hey, your'e dutch! Ik dacht al dat ik het landschap herkende! Super wagen, je ziet niet vaak nederlanders met zulke goede smaak!

  • Inderdaad, dat lijkt wel op friesland!

  • Now all u need is a posi, and you'll be good to go

  • Geez, thats insane buddy. Who would have ever thought of a Diesel Nova. Very Original.

  • What kind of gas mileage (or should I say diesel mileage) do you get? How about 1/4 mile times? I've thought about doing something like this but with a different car.

  • a corolla can do a 1-wheel burnout in the grass. not very impressive

  • i've seen some queers but this kid takes the cake.

  • yeah ok kid...when you move out of your parents basement then let me know, ok?
