  • He mentioned Fred Astaire? This man is a genius.

I've been trying to find a clean album version of The Show Must Go On, but it's actually very difficult to find. One of those artists that didn't get their due recognition.

  • Very underrated song probably cause its kinda gimmicky...but the melody is awesome!!

  • havent read all the comments I Love this song its invigorating yeah

  • this song always makes me want to dance :) Love it!

  • A kind of goofy little tune..but I`ve always liked it!! ;-)

  • To anyone interested I checked the U.K. chart archives and discovered that this

    record reached No.4 there.

  • His hair is at the beginning stages of natural dreadlocks.

  • Why did he steal Richard Simmons picture?

  • I'D JUST LIKE TO SAY THANKS TO YOU-TUBE!!!! A GOOD PLACE TO GO BACK AND REMINISE(SP)

  • @ROTH1944 You got that right!

  • one of the most powerful songs of the seventhies! love the strength

  • Loved it when Drew Carey covered it on his sitcom, and I remember when it first came out, I cannot get it out of my head. Some days I move to it in my desk chair.

  • I am 19 and I love this song. Heard it on the radio. I drive alot and the pop and alternative stations play the same songs over and over. So I listen to the old stuff cause you hear a new song everyday. This song made me laugh, not since 'The Streak' or 'She got the Goldmine' has a song made me laugh.

  • @landcaster11 Thanks for mentioning "the streak', I am wanting songs that make me smile.

  • Leo hit #9 in Billboard, 5-3-75. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • I know this makes me sound old, but that is what is missing from the music today, there is nothing fun.

  • Dang I'm old. I listened to Leo Sayers all the time when I was in high school. He also wrote most of the songs for the Who's Roger Daltrey on his solo album 'Daltrey', but Leo was a great singer in his own right as well as song writer.

  • @morecowbell5977 Somebody posted those old Leo songs on YouTube - start with /watch?v=S2o2kdd_Veo

  • @PackerGreg While 'I Can Dance/Long Tall Glasses' was the pop song on the radio that hooked me on him and got me to buy his album, 'One Man Band' and 'Train' also became big favorites of mine (though I could do without that mime get up). I have offspring of my own now who are listening to Leo Sayers' music, thanks to YouTube. And both of those songs are in my favorites already, but this video of yours is the best quality version of this song, IMHO. Thanks for putting it up so I can reminisce.

  • very dylanesque. I like it

  • I love you Leo!!!

  • I FINALLY found the name of this song.. thanks :)

  • great song ,great beat , great memories .

  • been since high school for me.. long tall glasses with wine up to yar..

  • you should have seen me moving. The floor is moving! I love it

  • great one!

  • THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE UPLOAD. GOOD DAY 2 YOU!!!!!!!!

  • I guess Leo CAN dance, after all, right, gang? God bless!

  • The best version by far. Leo Sayer is in his element here.

  • Am I the only one who used to love this song but never knew the name of it?

  • @gpgaal No, you're not the only one. Before I posted this I heard it as bumper music on an LA radio program and the host mentioned the name and artist. Before that, I only knew it as the "I can't dance" song. So I downloaded the mp3 and shared it here. I'll add "I can't dance" and "I can dance" to the search tags.

  • @PackerGreg, Mix of boogie and ragtime. Leo Sayer sure touched a nerve with this one....superb.

  • @gpgaal I'm with you on that! Glad we both figured it out cause it had been in MY head for years.

  • @gpgaal >yes, you are...I asked around

  • @gpgaal Right there with ya...Only heard it once and I loved it but whenever I tried to find it again I found all sorts of other songs but not this one. Listening to it again I still love it and plan to get it on Itunes now that I know the name! Honestly though...what was his idea in naming it Long Tall Glasses? He only says that once in the song! XD

  • @gpgaal I had to put the lyrics You Know I Can Dance in the search engine to find it on You Tube,

  • This is the kind of man who gets all the chicks.

  • Isnt there a cartoon of this song floating around out there somwhere? I think I remember seeing it on the Sonny and Cher show back many years ago

  • ahhhhhh just love this :))

  • i remeber going 2 places and i wold always tell her 2 put it on this song and i hardly ever listen 2 stuff like this

  • Thanks for posting this song, it's a classic!

  • Made me think maybe I could dance. Oops.

  • I haven't heard this song in too many years to mention. I'm so old, I owned the 45!

  • this was the b side to the show must go on im also quite old

  • Leo Sayer Is My Home Boy ;P

  • Quarter in the jukebox at the teen center got you three songs. I played this one more than once. (Enthusiasm for this song pre-dated my discovery of Bob Dylan's music -- now am hearing some similarities...guess this is my Thing)

  • I'm giving you 6 stars****** for this one.Thank you for having it & for sharing it with us.I love the studio versions.

  • Billboard's #90 song for '75. Leo hit #9 US. How'd it do in the UK? God bless!
