man I dont understand why everyone is so concern'd with drag racing a Rally Car. Yes of course they have the ability to go fast in a straight line, but these cars were built for the back roads, sliding around bends at a 100 mph. I wish someone would make a rally montage of the Evo X. Cool Car btw.

at whiteevo , what is the weight of this vehicle at its current setup? is it possible to run 11's w full evo x weight w/ 400whp?

I believe it was 3410. The only actual weight reduction was removal of the front and rear crash bars (replaced with light Al ones) and the spare tire and tools. You should have no problem running 11's with 400hp.

@WhiteEvoVIII with 50 more hp and torque and IX can run 10's (stock turbo/e-85) with NLTS. I seriously considered selling my IX for and X MR but I don't think I could take the performance hit.

I agree shifting the X compared to the 6 speed in the IX is like rowing a boat. Hopefully someone will release a quick shifting kit for the 5 speed manual X soon if they havent already done so.

I notice youve stated the car hasnt been tuned yet. What did you use to raise the boost without going into the ECU?

Seriously guys is it that yard to get an old ugly bucket of bolts 80s Mustang, slap a few turbos on it and go run a 9 second pass while it drops oil and bits of rust all over the track. I know which car Id rather be driving and it isnt the useless Mustang. Kudos to you mate youre doing a fine job there with the EVO.

The people commenting about how slow the EVO is compared to the Mustang its a shame they dont understand what an EVO is about. The fact this car can run an 11 second ¼ is just a bonus. Put both the 9 second Mustang and this EVO on a piece or tarmac or windy road or race track and the EVO will put a dress on the Mustang and call it Mary.

I guess they started following the rules after they got busted when that guy from the mustang shootout died a few years ago. When i was racing there (2000-2004) they were a little too relaxed on the rules. You needed a helmet if in the 13's but they didnt enforce much else. Not like Gainesville raceway where they tell you go home or stop racing.

The worst part about Bithlo were all the rednecks who brought a dying car to race and end up dumping oil down the entire lane.

So what if there are mustangs pulling on him. You should see the sick cars that come out to Bithlo (Orlando Speed World). People drive there in 8-10 second mustangs camaros, grand nationals, etc. Some of them and daily drivers. I used to race there all the time. Anything under under 13's races together.

Bithlo is one of the few tracks that doesnt follow any NHRA rules. You can wear shorts and they dont kick you out if you're missing a roll cage.

Is the end of  track still all gravel?

The runoff is pretty long and all paved, I think its just grass at the end. They are more stringent on the rules now though; helmets (if quick enough), roll cages (if quick enough) and pants are all required.

In the 2 races that you see a car they are both against the same Mustang (its twin turboed by the way). In the last of the 3 runs you can see his time was 10.3, he has it in the 9's now.
