I just made one of those shorts from a T-shirt that was slightly loose for me,but in the end (or somewhere near the end) I found out it was not my size at all T^T ~ Though my baby brother loves them XP

Please use a VERY BIG T-Shirt,one thats like atleast 6 to 7 inches loose.

Those shorts are way too tight on this kid - but it's a fantastic idea! They'd look great if they were bigger. I don't think there's a tshirt in circulation on earth that I could make into shorts that'd fit lol

You can also just cut up the sides of the shirt instead of the middle, if your shirt has some sort of graphic you'd like to keep.

Follow all the steps of this tutorial.....but when you get to the point where you cut up the middle of the shirt....DON'T...instead, cut up the left and right side seams of the shirt so that you will end up with a front and back piece of the shirt you once had..From there...follow the rest of this fella's tute...or if you msg me, I will send you a link to a tutorial with PICTURES. :D

just got done making a bunch of these cool shorts and I have a little tip when making them for infants and babies make sure you double or triple the shirt size because they are built a little different than us they have bulky diapers and such and even though the tee might fit it dosn't fit their little butts very well

Maybe you could take off the waist band and replace it with another wider band of fabric. Or use a contrasting band of fabric between the waistband and the shorts to drop the crotch down a bit.
