@Anamar221 It's because the movie is a mixture of Jesus' time and the 60's. Hence the uzis that the Roman guards carry and the Israeli Air Force flying over Judas and the tanks as well. So the lingo is mixed in. Plus the phrase "Jesus Mania," playing off of "Beatlemania."
The religion dosent matter?Jesus clearly was a threat to the Sadducees and Pharasises and there hypocritical way of life along with there illegal trial of Jesus.
They represented the Jews's along with there full support.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 Please think what you think before putting out to the pupil hun.
Religion doesn't matter because the religion is just a belief and for that you don't have to kill someone and just because one human kill someone else because of religion doesn't mean everyone else sharing the same religion think the same way or will do it.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 They where Jews and so was Jesus, so all Jews weren't supporting them. The Christianity was born with Jesus' death so he could hardly been a Christianity himself.
Think before typing. BTW, I believe in Jesus, not God.
Your really have no concept do you? If you believe in Jesus you must believe in God,the two go hand in hand, every thing Jesus did was Gods bidding.
The reason the Jews are to blame is because they represented the Jewish people,Jesus made the way for Christianity and had a small Jewish following amongst other peoples too, gentiles could become Christians and eveything changed as the world knew it.
No I don't because I don't believe in God, not in that way anyway. But I do believe that a man called Jesus has existed but he was only vise for his time and a good doctor, but he could pure sight are wake people from the dead, walk on the water or turn water in to wine.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 The Jews aren't to blame, the humanity is. Jesus was a Jew and not a Christian, people liked to follow his lead and his mom was a Jew and his friends, he loved them and if you really do believe everything in the bible you would know he just turn the other cheek and forgave them for their sins.
Religion was maybe needed back then to rule over people, to stop them from stealing and killing, but we don't exactly need it today.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 I believe in Jesus, nut I don't believe in God over evolution. I just believe in the God and the Devil inside of me. Jesus wasn't God sons but we have learn very important things of him.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 Hey, you can believe what you want, I don't expect much from someone like you. But you should hate on a certain group of people. And sense you hate the Jews, it's like saying you liked what Hitler did to them.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 And you have no understanding of life or Jesus. Yes and no, it is like you are supporting Hitler because of you hatred of the Jews.
Don't live your life after a book, and don't hate on innocent people. At least not on here where people want to watch this amazing movie. If you want to hate, hate those who cased this and not everyone that has this religion, Like Jesus did, turn the other cheek. And he gorge them. You would know that if you have read the bible.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 I'm not saying you are like him just saying you must have supported them sense you hate the Jews so much, not just the ones that did this but apparently all of them, do you even know what you are writing?
No, you are the one because you go one here insulting a religion.
The admit you put it wrong in the first place because you said you hated the Jews and not just the ones that did this.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 I know the message he brought and I believe in him, I just don't believe in God and that is something you should put your finger on. The only thing that bothers me is that you said you hated the Jews and think they should be punished! 1. Jesus forgave them. 2. you should blame the religion. 3. He was a Jew himself.
You are pathetic, you are writing two things, at one moment you write of your hatred of the Jews the next you say you don't hate them, so which is it.
@LemmingoftheBDA2 No but you said the Jews as if all of them and that is pretty much like you hated them HONEY. And for that HONEY it comes out like you liked what Hitler did to them.
God and the Devil is inside of you and not anywhere else. You can believe what you want butt don't believe in a Good, I believe in the evolution and I do believe in Jesus, that he has existed but not that powerful they say he was.

@LemmingoftheBDA2 The Pharisees and Sadducees were not hypocrites ! Christians like you , on the other hand , most certainly are ! Hating all Jews for the crimes of a few is like spitting at your father ! As Yeshua and his apostles were Jews . Christianity was a Jewish sect before branching off into a separate religion largely due to The Church spewing ignorant , anti-semitic hate speech like you . The Pharisees saw Yeshua and the apostles as threats to Jew-Roman relations .
@LemmingoftheBDA2 The Pharisees were not just priests but politicians . Yeshua / " Jesus " was a political as well as religious figure . Yeshua was actually involved in a Jewish rebellion against Rome . Thus , The Pharisees feared that he would stir up anti-Roman sentiment as he did ( albeit unintentionally ) which could lead to an all-out war between Romans and Jews . The Jews knew they stood no chance against the mighty Roman army and likely would be wiped out .
@LemmingoftheBDA2 Thus , they were motivated by fear , not bloodlust as your Bible claims ! And , how can you so despise a people for doing something that your Bible says was " God`s will " ? Especially when your religion was founded by Jews !
@LemmingoftheBDA2 He was involved in an anti-Roman rebellion , not a war . A war is what The Jews feared , a war they knew they could not win and could lead to the extermination of all Jews in Rome .Yes , The Pharisees as your Bible portrays them were hypocrites but the real Pharisees were not nearly as one-dimensionally evil as your Bible which was edited by Romans under Constantine claims . Infact , there`s evidence they sympathized with Yeshua but saw him as a threat ...
@LemmingoftheBDA2 ...to Israel . Yes , he was but not all his followers were . Their main problem was his followers loudly spoke out against Rome and their blind faith meant they could not be reasoned with . According to The Bible , only Thomas & Judas Iscariot did not have this blind faith . Judas was also Eastern Judean like most of The Pharisees and shared their and Yeshua`s disgust at the militant attitude of the other apostles while Jesus & the others were...
@LemmingoftheBDA2 ... Northern Galilean . This likely made Judas feel like an outcast despite pretty much being Jesus` right hand man and treasurer . Furthermore , Pontius Pilate was a bloodthirsty former Roman general who would not have hesitated to execute an enemy of Caesar`s no matter how innocent the dude may have appeared . And , Jews had no authority whatsoever in Ancient Rome . The Pharisees , Sadducees , Roman-appointed Jewish kings like Herod & temple priests did .
@LemmingoftheBDA2 Everyday Jews , however ? None ! The idea that A Roman governor and former general would by bound by the will of embittered Jewish peasants is frankly preposterous !
Constantine did not alter the bible nor is there any evidence of this,He formed the begining of Chrisindom and we have seen first hand what the results were.
The true Christians started of course in jesus day and beyond, dont confuse them with the cathlolic church!...im glad its"my bible" as you put it.
Im most intrested in to where you get your information from.....
@LemmingoftheBDA2 You`re right , Constantine didn`t alter The Bible . He did , however , handpick what texts went in and what texts were left out , influence its interpretation and have his editors subtly revise parts of what became The New Testament to be more sympathetic to Rome .
@1993MovieMan Well put, and well argumented. Just a thought on the historical relevance though: If Jesus really was able to do the things the Bible says he did, (like feeding an army with only one bread, walk on water, curing blindness and cripples) wouldn't there be more information on the guy than just the Bible and a single line about a man called Jesus scribbled down by Plato? Every nation in that time would have wanted to capture and use him for their own ends...
@doisettep ... and thus have their historians at least write about such a man. Especially the great nations of that time would have done nearly everything to obtain such a man for their own agendas.
Seeing as there is no historical reference to Jesus Christ except as written in the Bible I am very sceptical as to that he really existed as a person.
@doisettep Very few scholars hold the position that Jesus never existed. There are some non-Christian sources that make reference to him; for example, there are writings of a Roman official called Cornelius Tacticus, who makes passing reference to Jesus having been executed in the reign of Tiberius under Pontius Pilate when discussing Christians. Whether he's divine is another issue, but most serious scholars, Christian or not, say that the man existed.
@doisettep A very good question and one I`ve pondered myself . The miracles of Jesus were all taken from older mythologies . Thus , they weren`t nearly as unique as Christians claim . Furthermore , I`m pretty sure the " Plato " document you mention was proven to be a forgery a long time ago ,also a very good point .
@1993MovieMan It's worth remembering that tales of miracle workers would have been ten a penny in those days. Until his remaining disciples started preaching he would have been unknown outside of Judea.
@1993MovieMan It was common for tales of miracles to surround leaders of religious sects, and there were many sects branching out from Judaism at the time - people who believed in God, but did not like the Priesthood. It makes sense for Jesus to be a leader of one such sect. Indeed, Talmud mentions early Christians praying in Synagogues together with the Jews, suggesting they did not regard themselves as a different religion, but merely a different view of the same beliefs.
@Galastel Yes , Christians started out as a sect of Judaism and later branched off into their own separate religion because of differing beliefs , practices and interpretations of The Bible as well as Christians trying to fit in with The Romans which The Jews clearly did not at the time. However , there are even to this day , Messianic Jews and despite The Early Church`s best efforts Judaizing Christians !
@wsmith6079wpg Well the church has gotten out of control throughout history yes. But in this scene I think they're more getting across what contempt the Pharisees have for the common people they're supposed to be guiding. It's a very hippie play so it makes sense for the authority figures to be insulting the young, visionary people. :)
is that agression? if so, why? if you believe in christ you follow the principles of christianity. does jesus tell you to be quick to anger, does he tell you to try to insult someone? you claim to believe, but if you truly did believe you would love jesus with all your heart and would be able to understand and follow his commandments.
