  • I have footage of Willard when he was Bozo at the Charle's County Fair back in the 50's. My brother won 1st prize in the cutest baby contest and Bozo touched a freckle on my nose. It was great.

  • I was on Bozo starring Willard Scott with my Brownie troop 50 years ago this coming week. Somehow the date October 12, 1960, sticks in my mind, but I also remember it being a Tuesday. Unfortunately, October 12, 1960, was a Wednesday. So it was either on October 11 or a Wednesday.

  • willard scott is going to be old enough to be on the smuckers jam jar

  • @illuminatioracle Willard Scott was born March 7th, 1934, so he'll celebrate his 77th birthday in 2011.

  • Scott was also the first Ronald McDonald

  • I remember Willard as Bozo very well. I always thought it great that he made it big as the NBC Weatherman. He seems like a very genuine nice guy.

  • Gee, and I remember Willard hosting the "Mickey Mouse Club" on Channel 4 (right before the "Leave it to Beaver" reruns @ 4:30) back in the '60s...

  • I guess it was hot in the studio, 1st you see Bozo's hairdo all nice and sticking up, next thing it's all drooping

  • In the early days of color televison the studio was very hot and the lights very bright as you can see in this clip.

  • please don't forget willard and ed walker doing The Joy Boys show on WRC-AM. Their hours varied but for a long time 8 to midnight. old time clean, silly, fun radio. willard wore many hats in his career, not just Bozo and the weatherman on the Today Show.

  • I feel so stupid. I thought Bozo was just a Chicago thing.

  • thank you .... thank you... Willard Scott was the best ever!!! from doing the weather, to Bozo and in between playing Ronald McDonald.. thank you...

  • I remember growing up in the DC area , eary 60's watching Bozo .. Long live Willard Scott!!!!

  • I just read that Bozo died today

  • Larry Harmon who formerly played Bozo the Clown on Los Angeles television has died.

However, Willard Scott is still alive and working for NBC. In fact, Willard's been working for the same company for almost 58 years!!!!

  • The memories :)

  • I just realized the bozo laugh sounds a lot like the bullwinkle laugh.

  • Clown school ?..I was born a clown LOL.

  • I wanna go to clown college

  • Actually, Willard did Ronald McDonald in commercials locally in the D.C. area. He also made appearrances around D.C. The old costume had the funny "box" on his head with a shake, burger bag and french fry bag. For a long time I believed that the "national" Ronald McDonald was Willard!

  • Willard came up with the idea for the clown that is Ronald McDonald. McDonalds said Willard was to fat to do the commercials.

  • This is also a great video about Bozo the clown.
