  • I don't mean to be negative, but this simply looks like a high tide to low tide transition.

  • @kbaldeo Its ok. Please read the description underneath the video. If you are still confused, let me know, and I'll try to explain in better.

  • everyone just attacking this person he is putting informational videos up for us

  • @kingjld Thanks, I appreciate that.

  • Why the fuck does this have so many down votes?

I thought it was pretty fucking self-explainly interesting.

  • @sompri Thank you!

  • OMG it is the sea which causes waves and they go in and out this is soo scary!!!!!!!!! AHHH run for your lives

  • @cutekk411 The uneducated often amuse me, but in your case cutekk411, I'm a little saddened. The fact that somebody actually thinks "the sea causes waves" is quite disturbing. The future of this planet is in jeopardy because of people like you.

  • @ghesstifer I am sorry that is a quite surprising video I have a sister and she tends to not understand things well she is only in 2nd grade so she doesn't understand don't get on my Youtube account Sorry again!

  • @ghesstifer dont take it to heart pal hes only joking,, im sure if you do a video of any beach in the world and speed it up 700 times it will not be any different to this video,, oh and yeah its the moon that causes waves,, aint i clever

  • @lennypen1978 most waves are caused by wind.

  • @442hoeky what like when i fart?

  • @lennypen1978 In the bathtub, yes.

  • sucks. mtf!

  • @danzapification What does? And why? Explain yourself before leaving idiotic comments. Thanks, danzapification, I'm looking forward to a more insightful response.

  • @ghesstifer SO. THIS IS NOT AN EFFECT OF EARTHQUAKE, !... PLEASE, READ MORE. AND try to study . the phenomenon of the sea, thanks

  • @danzapification A normal tide happens twice a day. This tide went in & out twice in SEVEN MINUTES. Only an earthquake can cause this. Please learn some basic facts about the sea.

  • @danzapification haha ok buddy

  • @danzapification Your girlfriend wont,...if you ever get one.

  • There was effects in norway as well! suddently it came waves 2-3 meter from the beach right out of the calm fjord, water was rising. it was wierd!

  • Que chevere!!!!

  • Nice vid

  • Thanks for documenting this. Familiar with that beach, stay up Tanbark Way just above Salt Point park. Am now watching Fukushima Diary website daily for the truth.

  • Well from the amount of drift wood ect on the bottom right of the screen it sure looks as if the water comes in that far all the time.

  • @abus777 Thanks for the comment, but I think you're missing the point. The remarkable occurrence here is the continuous in-and-out action of the sea in such a short period of time... not how far in the waves come, or how big they are.

  • that is crazy stuff ! awesome video =) em

  • @pornoslut Thanks, pornoslut!

  • @ghesstifer no prob =)

  • as small as that was, the force behind those tiny waves would easily pull you into the ocean

  • @KrazyKali69 Yes, absolutely. Many beaches along the northern California coast are especially notorious for pulling people in. This is mainly due to the sudden, sharp drop off of the sea floor.

  • shows that even after travelling 7500 miles from epicentre it still had some power behind it

  • @danielsayles It really puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

  • Yeah!

    it's called 'tide'!

  • @theessia1991 really?

  • i was going to say that looked like a normal tied change to me. but then i read the disscription. pretty crazzy stuff! we didnt get anything liek that up on the west coast of bc.

  • @dragoncustomcycles Thanks for watching (and reading the description)! :)

  • Good job ghesstifer !!! Perfect professional images! Tsunami doesn't always mean 15m waves. It could reach as little as 1foot high and it's still being called tsunami as long as it's caused by massive earth or ground movements... That's it.

  • @halkins1 Thank you, friend!

  • i dont know why this video has so many dislikes. i think its kool u have sumthing like this documented.

  • @SuckMyKiss420 Thanks! And yes, that was the point of the video... to document an unusual event.

  • DUDE THATS SUCH A BIG TSUNAMI! shoulda totally SWACKED that wave brah

  • So for March 11, 2011, the low tides occured at 9:21am and 8:47pm according to a California data base. That's 11 hrs and 26 mins, for the mathematically challenged. In this video, assuming we are simply observing the tide, as many have suggested, there are not only two low tides, but an additional high tide as well. Therefore, the total elapsed time would be about 18 hrs if this was simply the tide. I didnt see a change in solar position, or a change is shadow location for objects in frame.

  • thank God that bird survived the awesome destructive power of this tsunami...

  • wow kill urself i think that might have just been the tide coming in retard

  • @TheAuzzyboy Um your the retard, that was the fastest tide I have ever seen

  • @akaAlexthekid it was fukin sped up u dumb cunt

  • @TheAuzzyboy I know it was sped up you dick, those would have to be some fucking fast waves if it wasn't. The point is that it was a 7 minuet long video to start with, and for the tide to come in that fast there would have to be something seriously wrong . Learn how to read retard

  • @akaAlexthekid

    akaAlexthekid - 1 TheAuzzyBoy - 0

  • @akaAlexthekid fuk! kill yourself!!! the fuking tsunami didnt reach the californian cost and the video was not only 7 minutes long, it was a lie :P

  • @TheAuzzyboy yes it did ffs, google it, tsunami reaches cali. And what about the bird on the right hand side that wanders into shot, that would have to be one slow ass seagull to hang around while the tide came in

  • its called fastforword..like u u belive thAT IM TELLING THE TRUTH..

  • @littlefizzypanda That's what its called, huh? I think you're on to something...

  • This is what happens when you fast forward a normal tide video!

  • @zeesh181 seee enlest u have commen sence

  • @littlefizzypanda ....right.

  • @zeesh181 It is?

  • We had the same thing here on Vancouver island (directly north of you). I think it was measured at 1 meter in height. I agree... it's amazing. One perspective is that it affected the entire Pacific ocean... which is 30% of the Earths surface! Wow!

Fret not regarding negative comments! Stupidity is science and biology all wrapped up in a retarded little package. Enjoy the fact that you can recognize it without participating in it.

  • @magster65 Thanks, Magster! :) It was quite a sight to see.

  • fuck you!

  • @LukzHenrike Thanks! :)

  • bardzo dobry, powiedziałbym naukowy film . Dzięki

very good, I'd say science film. Thanks.

  • @szwagiier Thanks!

  • i fel so bad right now

  • Is this really sensational? No.

  • @sootcase Not supposed to be.

  • I was in Mexico during this, tide filled and drained completely all day, probably every 15 minutes. Crazy to watch if you live on the coast and are used to watching the tide fill over hours and hours

  • Nice video, Its good to know this!. The world is not so big after all heah ;-)

Those people who say its a tide, READ this youtube users TEXT. Saying its in 7 min... then think again! :+)

  • whats tht lil white thing

  • @MySweetParadigm It is a seagull. Try watching full screen/HD quality if you can. Thanks for watching!

  • A tide cycles over a period of 12 hours retards..... watch the cloud over the cliff face in the background, this cycle is clearly only 7 minutes. Obviously the tsunami had pretty much dissipated by the time it hit shore, but you can still see it....

  • Just a tide. That they sped up

  • @TheMonkeesRock Hello, friend, thanks for the comment. How many times have you seen a normal tide go in and out twice in the span of 7 minutes? Yes, you are correct, the footage is sped up (as is mentioned before the video begins). But the total real time duration of the event is only 7 minutes. That is, SEVEN minutes. Siete. Sept. Seitsemän. Seacht. Επτά. Sjö. Семь. Sette. Capito?

  • @ghesstifer It's almost like you Americans yearn for a tsunami, like you're missing out on the misery that other people in the world suffer from. This is not a competition, and your clip does not show anything remarkably awful so, if I were you, I wouldn't make such a bloody fuss about it.

  • @sootcase Not trying to show anything "remarkably awful" and not making a "bloody fuss." Have a good day.

  • maybe the tide

  • @gamehack8 not the tide...

  • thats called a tide.

  • @Cagracer Out of curiosity, have you ever seen a complete tide cycle occur in just 7 minutes? If so, where/when?

  • @Cagracer what a fucking dumb ass you are!!!! when have you ever seen a tide happen in seven minutes you fuckin ignorant looser??

  • @castroiscool its a quick tide then.

  • Why post that !!!!

  • That do not look like a tsunami to me it look like what water always do!! I hate this video FI

  • @2sisterznfriendz Helpful hint: Learning English may help you overcome your current situation. ;)

  • maybe a fat guy jump into the water on the other side of that little mountan, and cause the damn watter to rise up

  • come on, you can tell watter always reach that level,

  • I like how the uploader preemptively raged on people who would criticize his vid, knowing how lame it is.

  • @RockMonster1000 No, numbnuts, I had to change the description after all the ignorant/brainless comments I received, ones much like yours. Originally, I had no description. You, like some of the others on here, simply do not understand what this video represents, even after reading the description. However, I'm glad that you all make your stupid comments. HINT: the more views and activity on this video, the more money I get. CHA-CHING! Joke's on you, fool. ;)

  • @ghesstifer Why so serious? I'm happy that you're making money off youtube guy. I just said what I liked about your presentation. It is a lame video though, sorry for telling the truth jeez.

  • Thats not the pacific, thats the pobbles beach on the gower!!!

  • @HGtibby Its not?? You're kidding me.

  • Wasn't that just a normal tide cycle?

  • FAKE STUPID

  • @Ricardoorozco95 Fake Stupid... right.

  • looks like a normal tide

  • Tickles is a dork. If you knew anything about high and low tides you would know that the time laps was not long enough to say it was normal. You can obviously see the effects of the tsunami here. Its not like in japan but it is defiantly not normal wave patterns. Thank you for sharing this video GHess.

  • another dipshit in cali...great.

  • wow!!! you ust discovered high tide!!!!lol jk

  • its the tide not a tsunami

  • @zogozogy98

it is CAUSED by the tsunami

  • I noticed the rapid change in the tide (retreating before coming back again). I am quite aware of how tsunamis work. And yes, I know they can travel several thousand miles. Of course, by the time they get that far, they're generally not quite as large. They still provide an interesting spectacle of nature's fury tho. Thanks for posting.

  • The idiot who put this video up should be slapped around for a few hours.

  • I don't see anything funny. Two people on the west coast have lost there lives do to the Japan tsunami.

  • wich tsunami?..

  • Wow a 4 inch rise. Duck and cover!

  • It couldn't have affected california that quickly, maybe in an hours time but not that quickly

  • Comment removed

  • ASS

  • It's called a tidal surge

  • FUCK YOU. GET A LIFE LOSER.

  • @Blitzkriegz311 said the drunkard

  • Y does everyone feel the need to isult ... If u dont like the video then dont watch it!!!! Simple as that

  • It's wave. Not Tsunami.

  • AHHHH I TSUNAMI OHNO WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT THE VIDEO IS JUST BULL SHIT YOUR JUST FILMED A VIDEO OF NORMAL WAVES FAT ASS SEE THE ONE IN JAPAN. THATS WHAT A REAL TSUNAMI LOOKS LIKE

  • @tickles2212 You're kinda slow, aren't you?

  • @ghesstifer yeah, he is >.<

  • @tickles2212 read the description idiot...

  • @tickles2212 slow is an understatement

  • AHHHH I TSUNAMI OHNO WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT THE VIDEO IS JUST BULL SHIT YOUR JUST FILMED A VIDEO OF NORMAL WAVES FAT ASS

  • And that is called high tide, dumbass.

  • @weAreTheToothFairy You're kidding me...

  • @ghesstifer No, I'm not.

  • @weAreTheToothFairy Within seven minutes? Tide cycles happen Every Twelve hours if I'm correctCorrect me if I'm wrong, but this does not look like tides to me.

  • Thanks for the amazing high tide video.

  • @zombieman82091 Don't mention it

  • This vid. was great. It really is incredible that even from so far away it still had an impact on California!

  • is this some kind of stupid ass joke???

  • @417tyson No, it isn't.

  • omg that was on my birthday! O.o

  • this is just a video just to scare ppl thats how all waves are duuu

  • @blackeyellow no, it is not.

  • SEE taht tide going off to the side that just means it happens all the time once in a while moron.

  • @Renegade2283 ....

    ...

    ... que?

  • @ghesstifer Thanks for posting the vid. As an aside, I wish people that didn't know what they were talking about didn't know how to use a computer.

  • there is nothing anusual abouth this video. acording to my calculations the and analisis of the footage it seems like the tide was a normal tide that comes in every 5 minutes.. u can see that there is sand around and the sand seems to be wet before the tide came in...and to complete my analisis the water stopd right at the inprint of the sand... cant fool me lol...

  • @EliasAngelofDeath haha right on man... please enlighten me... where do you live on this planet that has a 5-minute tide cycle?? LOL

  • @ghesstifer Mars

  • gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggaqyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • @ilovehandbags1 ... thank you for solidifying my thoughts on the uneducated and uninformed.

  • Comment removed

  • @Pitkona ... no, I am not joking. But thank you for the comment. I've received many similar comments, so this prompted me to update the description of the video. Before leaving such inflammatory comments, please do some research. If you had, you'd see that this is, by definition, a tsunami and was a direct result of the Japanese earthquake that occurred 7,500 miles away. And by the way, it is spelled "ridiculous." That is a common spelling error amongst the illiterate. Good day.

  • @ghesstifer watch out for the grammer police

  • Hey, thanks for catching this on film! I appreciate the footage; I was out of that area that day and now I'm trying to catch up on what happened.

  • Very well done. You chose the perfect spot to get the full effect. A camera in a fixed position is a good choice. I like watching the bird, too. lol

  • that looks like the tide

  • @NowForTruth Hey buddy, you are correct, it does look like the tide. The only difference is that this full-tide cycle that you see occurred in just SEVEN minutes. It was very bizarre, and was a direct result of the earthquake in Japan. Thanks for watching.

  • thanks for posting... for the folks on here who are aware of whats truly happening.

  • that was nothing more than a few larger than nom waves

  • @MrLangstar Hello Sir, I'm not sure you entirely understand how a tsunami works. What you see in my video that occurred in just seven minutes would you usually take an entire day. Its not about "big waves." The millions of dollars of damage done in Santa Cruz was not because of "big waves." Look it up pal.

  • @ghesstifer yeh sorry bout that, i shouldn't of wrote it now that i watched it again,

my heart does go out to all of those affected by it

  • @ghesstifer In 7 minutes a huge freight carrying ship or cruise liner could have gone past somewhere in the nearby waters and created your so called "Tsunami".... there is more than one explanation or the build up and recession of the tide u know... i dont care even if it didnt happen like that, but i bet theres thousands of videos with the tide doing exactly what it did in this video. .

  • @rhymezgalore Wow, we have a regular Einstein here! You are so smart, friend. I often see cruise ships that create continuous full-tide cycles for a period of over 12 hours just by sailing by a cove... you deserve an award for this finding.

  • @ghesstifer Is Einstein the smartest Scientist u know lol ok i dont want an award, iwant to know why u think this is a Tsunami when it hasnt even left past the shoreline onto land.. this wouldnt even be the lowest case of Tsunami. More like Tsu with no Nami

  • @rhymezgalore Are you 100% sure you know what a tsunami is? Really, are you 100% sure?

  • @ghesstifer I Sure do. Tsunami are large sea waves caused by earthquakes, undersea landslides, volcanic eruptions or even large objects, such as meteorites, falling into the sea.

They can travel at about 600 km an hour across deep oceans (as fast as some jet planes), and can be 10-30 metres high when they reach land.

    Is there anything else?

  • @rhymezgalore Well, you see, your definition is only partly accurate. Based on this partial knowledge, you have decided to insult my video. The part of your definition that is inaccurate is the part that tsunamis are "large sea waves," the key word there being "large." That isn't necessarily true. The tidal behavior you see in my video is a DIRECT result of the earthquake in Japan. It is a series of waves caused by a large displacement a water... a tsunami.

  • @rhymezgalore Small-brained people such as yourself fail to realize why I posted this video. It was not to be a smart ass and make a joke of the devastating waves that crippled Japan. It was simply to show the magnitude of that earthquake... that even thousands and thousands of miles away, it had a direct impact on the west coast of the United States. Got it now?

  • Very cool footage!
