I remember how my mom told me about how she collected the videos before I was born. She told me that this movie will teach her children of the importance of family, friends, courage, and self perseverance. Just listening to this audio, it always reminds me of my mother. Too bad Little Foot lost his mother TT^TT though I am 15 right now, I still have the videos, and I always watch it~
How i arrived here from 70s disco, i will never know, but thank God i did.
This movie remains still a large part part of my life. the 90s was truly the best decade to be a kid. When i have kids, this movie is a must, it is simply life changing.
Fuck! I almost feel like crying now! This makes me wonder if it was the actual movie that made me cry when I was little and whatched it, or if it was this fantastic score! Of course a combination of both! Because right now I feel nostalgic about the whole thing!
@Greyspirit13 I'm actually kind of sad at how callous I apparently was at a kid. This movie never mad me sad until I had the urge to watch it again a year or so ago and it absolutely killed me inside. My appreciation for it, however, is greater than ever.
I used to cried when brontosaurus mom died, now that i hear this wonderful music and my mom is gone, i remember my chilhood so nostalgic. Thanks James Horner for this marvelous music
@SnackAttac The only one Don Bluth had anything to do with was the first one, wich is very apparent given the huge different level of quality of the sequels. It is arguably his biggest masterpiece.
I don't care if you hate this movie, I don't care if you hate dinosaurs, I don't care if you hate music. You got to admit, this song is just great. I think it's beyond great. So much so, that you can't even describe it. All you can do is just listen to the music.
At 5:04, and then again at 5:35, you can almost hear that motherly voice whispering "Littlefoot... Littlefoot..." on the wind. God... I can't take it T_T
The score was beautiful thanks for posting. The death of littlefoots mother was heartbreaking, the end credits after the narrator says "long ago" and Diana Ross sings really got me crying. Again thanks for posting.
I remember never ceasing to cry whenever the mother died, and it still gets to me today. Such a wonderful story, with wonderful art, actors, and music. Sadly, I feel that movies in the future will never be like this again....
@cgsilverscreen2020 Yeah, I can't believe my mom bought all the speilberg movies for me. Now that I think about it, I was her first kid born in 1992. I don't know how she found out about these wonderful movies, but i'm grateful.
I remember this movie! I use to watch all of them. When i was little, i was so in love with dinosaurs... I loved them so much i wanted to be one. I promised myself i would one day become the closest thing to it. So next year, i will be going to school in Arizona for paleontology. The speech in the beggining just about had me to tears. They really bring out the life that once was. It still gives me the chills
I can't believe that it still gives me shivers after all these years. This movie was amazing. I watched it so much as a kid. The films created after this movie were good, but never as good. And the music... woww..
great comments by the creator of this video ... but why couldn't he (or she) take 5 minutes and edit the spelling, grammar, homophone abuse ... or maybe submit it to someone else to edit? It's so sad to see great ideas and notions marred by terrible expression
seriously it hurts is it possible to you die of a broken heart, and to think 2 weeks ago i found and bought this movie along with an american tail and balto in a 3 in 1 combo pack and i haven't even open them yet; i am shamed. to grown up to remember till now.
The first Land Before Time was so much better than the crap sequels they kept making....Well except maybe the fourth one, from what I can remember. That one was good.
Yeah i agree, but somehow I just can't not watch them coz I love the characters and the whole idea with the movies... they will always be so adorable no matter how old you get.
This is some of the most beautiful and nostalgic music I have ever heard. Sad and happy at the same time and utterly powerful. And now I feel like I'm five again.
i am 19 but turning 20 in 3 months and i still watch the movies and i think it was sad that Judith Barsi (voice if ducky) died it makes me sad because ducky is my favorite in the movies...
But you have to admit, this movie depicts the way the dinosaurs probably acted in a very realistic manner. The Sharptooth was dead on, that's exactly what a T-Rex was: a mindless meat-eater, much like a shark.
Yes of course, very realistic. What with a brontosaurus, pterodactyl, and triceratops all mingling together in a peaceful manner, 5 younguns being able to find their way to a Utopia without starving or maiming each other (when a baby dinosaur loses its mother it would of course behave like a human being). And certainly they would be able to outsmart a T-Rex all on their own...
Um, no, I'm saying Littlefoot never existed, so he couldn't die a painful death. Palentologists and anthropoligists know where it's at. Sorry for the confusion.
I cried though this ENIRE vid. It's amazing how powerful music can be. Every time I hear the Jurassic Park theme I get chills, but this music makes me break down and cry. I need this soundtrack.
i am SO with you. the oboe solo, that theme ... the octaves. it just massacres my heart. i can barely watch the movie without crying just because of that theme. and the ending. with the strings and voice all together. it just hurts so much. it's so beautiful.
James Horner is my all-time favorite movie score composer! I love the scores to A Beautiful Mind and Titanic, but I had no idea he composed The Land Before Time! I think it tops all of the others.
Judith Barsi's head stone reads "Our Concrete Angel - Yep Yep Yep" in reference to a popular song about child abuse and her character Ducky's catchphrase from The Land Before Time. Her mother's marker reads "The wind beneath JEB's (Judith's initials) wings - Yep Yep Yep".
I saw this movie so many times as a kid, god... I think it changed my whole life and how I saw alot of things... This and an American Tail. Bless Don Bluth.
thank you for posting this... i dunno but it seems like this piece didnt get much appreciation than the other piece that James Horner made
This piece is magnificent, magical and haunting. Im not saything this just becuz I've seen this when I was a child but, musically, this is a master piece
i'm twenty years old and i cry like a baby every time i see a clip from this movie or hear the theme. i don't even know why. it makes me feel so alive i can't even explain it. i get so nostalgic i literally ball for minutes and minutes
I cried, i havnt seen this movie in years and years i am 20 though from time to time i hum and whistle the repeating theme. I love it, beautiful and makes me think back to the simple days of my innocence.
They wanted to make it all score?! OMG, has anyone ever attempted to recut it like that? I love a lot of the dialog in the movie, but I would love to see it with just the music.
I remember how my mom told me about how she collected the videos before I was born. She told me that this movie will teach her children of the importance of family, friends, courage, and self perseverance. Just listening to this audio, it always reminds me of my mother. The second time i did it again and still cried: "His mommy died and he's all alone now!"
The 100th time i saw the movie i just ran towards my mom crying and she simply said: "That movie again, huh?"

Try your local cd&dvd store, ask if they can order it in. If not you can try Amazon or Ebay. Itunes also got a good amount of music you can buy :)
Thanks for your comment!
