  • I remember how my mom told me about how she collected the videos before I was born. She told me that this movie will teach her children of the importance of family, friends, courage, and self perseverance. Just listening to this audio, it always reminds me of my mother. Too bad Little Foot lost his mother TT^TT though I am 15 right now, I still have the videos, and I always watch it~

  • This is the first time I ever hear this score without watching the movie... it's 1:21 seconds in, and i'm already crying... ;__;

  • IF they made a live action movie of this..but without changing anything...Id love to see it. But d be afraid theyd F it all up!

  • The first time i saw the movie i ran towards my mom and cried: "His mommy died!"

The second time i did it again and still cried: "His mommy died and he's all alone now!"

The 100th time i saw the movie i just ran towards my mom crying and she simply said: "That movie again, huh?"

  • I'm not crying. I'm just sweating out of my eyes.

  • How i arrived here from 70s disco, i will never know, but thank God i did.

This movie remains still a large part part of my life. the 90s was truly the best decade to be a kid. When i have kids, this movie is a must, it is simply life changing.

  • I cried ;(

    love this masterpiece :-)

  • This movie makes me cry without fail, every time. Just hearing the music gets me all choked up...

  • Fuck! I almost feel like crying now! This makes me wonder if it was the actual movie that made me cry when I was little and whatched it, or if it was this fantastic score! Of course a combination of both! Because right now I feel nostalgic about the whole thing!

  • Gee, do you think Horner likes Igor Stravinsky a bit?

  • To not be emotional at the choir at 2:30 should be a sin.

  • This made me cry :O

  • i like da music and i dnt care about the story except da first 1

  • omg the choir at 2:30... double extra mega goosebumps

  • I dont feel like i'm five again, because this time i understand the depth of the song and movie and it's even better...

  • @Greyspirit13 I'm actually kind of sad at how callous I apparently was at a kid. This movie never mad me sad until I had the urge to watch it again a year or so ago and it absolutely killed me inside. My appreciation for it, however, is greater than ever.

  • I used to cried when brontosaurus mom died, now that i hear this wonderful music and my mom is gone, i remember my chilhood so nostalgic. Thanks James Horner for this marvelous music

  • One person had no childhood.

  • Diana Ross and James Horner deserved an oscar for best song If we hold on together

  • I wish this movie didn't have so many sucky squeals......The first one is brilliant, the rest...eh....

  • @SnackAttac The only one Don Bluth had anything to do with was the first one, wich is very apparent given the huge different level of quality of the sequels. It is arguably his biggest masterpiece.

  • I don't care if you hate this movie, I don't care if you hate dinosaurs, I don't care if you hate music. You got to admit, this song is just great. I think it's beyond great. So much so, that you can't even describe it. All you can do is just listen to the music.

  • ah shit

    memories

    i wanna cry and I'm freakN 20

    shizz...

    *sigh*

  • !!!

  • If you saw this movie on VHS then you remember that Pizza Hut commercial before the movie started.

  • @MPRobert05 holy cow, I remember that! That sparked up some old memories.....crazy.

  • @MPRobert05

I never watched this movie on VHS.

But I watched it a hundred times on a huge laser disc.

  • My favourite movie from my childhood, just beautiful

  • God.....Damnit......*Starts bawling like baby*

  • this music is beautiful

  • "you will always miss her. but just remember the things she taught you, and in a way, you'll always be together."---Rooter

  • where can i find big water song

  • At 5:04, and then again at 5:35, you can almost hear that motherly voice whispering "Littlefoot... Littlefoot..." on the wind. God... I can't take it T_T

  • @Exodia64 yeah....it gets to me too. Its those feelings I had as a kid, and they just stayed in my head

  • tears

  • 2:02 <333

  • 0:40... the moment that oboe came in on the melody, I just lost it. Down came the tears.

  • at 21 years old, i am not at all ashamed to call this one of my favorite movies.

  • @midknight9000 Dittos.

  • @midknight9000 Amen

  • @midknight9000 I salute you, friend-I-don't-know!

  • The score was beautiful thanks for posting. The death of littlefoots mother was heartbreaking, the end credits after the narrator says "long ago" and Diana Ross sings really got me crying. Again thanks for posting.

  • is there an uncut version to see the cut parts?

  • I started to cry at 0.40

  • I remember never ceasing to cry whenever the mother died, and it still gets to me today. Such a wonderful story, with wonderful art, actors, and music. Sadly, I feel that movies in the future will never be like this again....

  • i´m crying every time when i hear this song... it´s soo sad, but even beautyful.

  • *he cries like a child*

  • the meaning in this show ...is just beautiful...

  • 0:45 <3

  • it's music and movies like this that shaped who I am today.

  • such a sad song =( makes me cry and i'm not even watching the movie!!

this version sounds a lot bettre than the version i play on piano haha! ♥

  • i remember this movie very well, it never left my mind and when i think back about it i only get good memories thx for this upload

  • 1 person here is the T-Rex

  • Thanks for upload this...makes me cry

  • I swear, play this score to ANY of us born from 1980-1992 and we will get nostalgic and/or cry.

  • @cgsilverscreen2020 Yeah, I can't believe my mom bought all the speilberg movies for me. Now that I think about it, I was her first kid born in 1992. I don't know how she found out about these wonderful movies, but i'm grateful.

    Oh, and i bawl, BAWL!

  • Thank you for the video and music .....and R.I.P Judith Barsi..that is all..(- -)

  • What a pity the quality is so poor. Love it! :)

... gotta find the movie somewhere, even if I have to visit my mom and search all the old VHS-Tapes. :D

  • I remember this movie! I use to watch all of them. When i was little, i was so in love with dinosaurs... I loved them so much i wanted to be one. I promised myself i would one day become the closest thing to it. So next year, i will be going to school in Arizona for paleontology. The speech in the beggining just about had me to tears. They really bring out the life that once was. It still gives me the chills

  • Oh my god...

I can't believe that it still gives me shivers after all these years. This movie was amazing. I watched it so much as a kid. The films created after this movie were good, but never as good. And the music... woww..

James Horner is a genius <3

  • yay dublin ireland , haha thats where i live :D

  • great comments by the creator of this video ... but why couldn't he (or she) take 5 minutes and edit the spelling, grammar, homophone abuse ... or maybe submit it to someone else to edit? It's so sad to see great ideas and notions marred by terrible expression

  • Someone PLEASE tell me the name of the first melody in this video?

  • one of the best animated films of all time

  • I remember when little foot chased his own shadow thinking it was his mother and licked the stone wall.....:' (

  • seriously it hurts is it possible to you die of a broken heart, and to think 2 weeks ago i found and bought this movie along with an american tail and balto in a 3 in 1 combo pack and i haven't even open them yet; i am shamed. to grown up to remember till now.

  • I ate myself a tree star a while back.

  • oh i so cried every time. its all the music's fault lol

  • The first Land Before Time was so much better than the crap sequels they kept making....Well except maybe the fourth one, from what I can remember. That one was good.

  • @xXCamillaFawnXx you 're so true mate :(

  • @xXCamillaFawnXx and if you'd only seen the full uncut version.... you would have been blown away.

  • Yeah i agree, but somehow I just can't not watch them coz I love the characters and the whole idea with the movies... they will always be so adorable no matter how old you get.

  • If they did awesome stuff like this 20 years ago....... why not now?

  • This gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.

    Beautiful. Plain and simple.

  • This timeless classic will live on in our hearts forever.

Why wasn't it awarded an Oscar is beyond me!

God rest your soul Judith Barsi, wherever you are.

  • @TheBoomViper Amen, brother

  • @No1HasThisName

go jump off a cliff a troll

  • most powerful score ever

  • I'm crying... this is the most beautiful that I haven't heard

  • oohhhh mmyyyyy gosssshhh

    2:30

    5:06

i used to try to hum along

    its soooo pretty:)

  • This is some of the most beautiful and nostalgic music I have ever heard. Sad and happy at the same time and utterly powerful. And now I feel like I'm five again.

  • wow, that's sad about Judith. Poor girl:(

  • Favorite childhood movie.

    Brings back memories

  • i am 19 but turning 20 in 3 months and i still watch the movies and i think it was sad that Judith Barsi (voice if ducky) died it makes me sad because ducky is my favorite in the movies...

  • Truly a masterpiece by Spielberg. And the music is just amazing...so sad and relaxing. The music really brings you back to the land before time.

  • This was my fav childhood movie...shame its memory is tainted by all those sequels...oh well, love this music, thanks for uploading it

  • Wow, I remember this movie. One of my favorites when I was just a young girl. I loved the music too. Cried a few times... What a sad movie it was.

  • I can never listen to this without wanting to cry.

  • 3:41-4:34 and 7:55-8:30 could never make you cry.

  • true.

  • This soundtrack brings back memories. I miss being a little kid again, sitting on the floor watching these movies.

  • same here

  • Greatest score ever. No matter what is to come, or what has passed, this will always remain the most beautiful and amazing score ever written.

  • 2:27- capturing the hearth?

  • Littlefoot is dead. DEAD! And so are Cera, Petrie, Ducky, and Spike. They probably died a very painful death during an Ice Age.

    Just think about that.

  • But you have to admit, this movie depicts the way the dinosaurs probably acted in a very realistic manner. The Sharptooth was dead on, that's exactly what a T-Rex was: a mindless meat-eater, much like a shark.

  • Yes of course, very realistic. What with a brontosaurus, pterodactyl, and triceratops all mingling together in a peaceful manner, 5 younguns being able to find their way to a Utopia without starving or maiming each other (when a baby dinosaur loses its mother it would of course behave like a human being). And certainly they would be able to outsmart a T-Rex all on their own...

  • Alright, there's no need to be a smartass. I was simply making a compliment.

  • Nup T-rex was smarter than you think, if they were mindless, then Chomper would be prey for his parents.

  • Met alot of T-rexes, have ya?

  • Actually, they never really existed.

That doesn't make the music any less pretty.

  • You're saying dinosaurs ever existed? I think 10,000 palentologists and anthropologists will disagree with you.

  • Um, no, I'm saying Littlefoot never existed, so he couldn't die a painful death. Palentologists and anthropoligists know where it's at. Sorry for the confusion.

  • You evil evil person! xD

  • @levanyzzuf don't say such things! Animated characters never die, because they all live in the hearts they have touched.

  • @cgsilverscreen2020 that's too bad. I wouldn't expect a very long lifespan for someone with a dinosaur living in their chest cavity.

  • @levanyzzuf lol

  • ah :( die Melodie ist soooooooooooo schön :(

  • oboe solo<3

  • Does anybody like to send me this soundtrack?...ist so emotional and heart touching

  • this ost is so heart touching i love it

  • I cried though this ENIRE vid. It's amazing how powerful music can be. Every time I hear the Jurassic Park theme I get chills, but this music makes me break down and cry. I need this soundtrack.

  • I have the Soundtrack uploaded on YouTube already. PM me if you want the OST :)

  • i am SO with you. the oboe solo, that theme ... the octaves. it just massacres my heart. i can barely watch the movie without crying just because of that theme. and the ending. with the strings and voice all together. it just hurts so much. it's so beautiful.

  • Couldn't have put it better myself. =]

  • I have a great version of this composition, if anyone wants it pm me.

  • what is the song in the end of the movie? Woman sings it and her voice is so beautiful

  • "If we hold on together" by Diana Ross. Can be bought on iTunes :)

  • don't forget fivle or balto so many good films horner has composed

  • MP3 pwease?

  • Feel free to buy it on iTunes :)

  • Soundtrack's not on iTunes : (

  • es emocionante volver a escuchar esta BSO despues de tanto tiempo... gracias por subirla!

  • aaaaaaaaarwh =( so sad!

    I love this soundtrack =) ♥

  • James Horner. It's the composer of "My heard will go on"!!!

  • James Horner is my all-time favorite movie score composer! I love the scores to A Beautiful Mind and Titanic, but I had no idea he composed The Land Before Time! I think it tops all of the others.

  • Judith Barsi's head stone reads "Our Concrete Angel - Yep Yep Yep" in reference to a popular song about child abuse and her character Ducky's catchphrase from The Land Before Time. Her mother's marker reads "The wind beneath JEB's (Judith's initials) wings - Yep Yep Yep".

  • I teared up so much when I heard this! I remembered my childhood and watching these movies till no end! Thanks so much for the post!!!

  • omg... so nostalgic and magical! i don't know whether to feel sad or happy

  • This is so beautiful, so... nostalgic...

  • the vocals at 5:04 give me the image of walking into the gates of heaven and seeing a choir of angels, singing to the tune of my heart.

  • I saw this movie so many times as a kid, god... I think it changed my whole life and how I saw alot of things... This and an American Tail. Bless Don Bluth.

  • zomg i agree T_T

  • thank you for posting this... i dunno but it seems like this piece didnt get much appreciation than the other piece that James Horner made

This piece is magnificent, magical and haunting. Im not saything this just becuz I've seen this when I was a child but, musically, this is a master piece

man I really have to get my hands on this OST...

  • you're right. Horner is "famous" since his "My heard will go on." But I have to cry more by this piece than Titanic!!!

  • :'(

  • I loved this movie and I still do.

The music is one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard! 5*

  • my god I am almost twenty-four and I am always moved by this music. Thanks a lot for sharing!

  • Amazing music. I almost cried. I've got to go track down this movie now. I haven't seen it since childhood and am now 26.

  • such sad music. i almost cried. i love James Horner!! what a wonderful masterpeice!!

  • James horner is one of my favourite composers along with jerry goldsmith and john willams i would love to own this soundtrack.

  • Try your local cd&dvd store, ask if they can order it in. If not you can try Amazon or Ebay. Itunes also got a good amount of music you can buy :)

    Thanks for your comment!

  • I cried, i havnt seen this movie in years and years i am 20 though from time to time i hum and whistle the repeating theme. I love it, beautiful and makes me think back to the simple days of my innocence.

  • They wanted to make it all score?! OMG, has anyone ever attempted to recut it like that? I love a lot of the dialog in the movie, but I would love to see it with just the music.

  • I feel like such a wimp, this brought tears to my eyes.

  • thanks for this, a truly fantastic score

  • hi Mark.

  • thanks for uplauding this, this movie is so sad and beautiful and its so gorgeous with the spirit of his mom and that green leave.

    the music is very touchy.

  • Godly music ...at 7:20...and on..wow
