The forces of NATO countries weren't trained or equipped to fight against insurgents. They had all been preparing for a war against a hostile military(Such as North Korea or Iran). Tanks, missiles, and Fighter Jets aren't effective against road side bombs. But NATO now knows robots are, and they're putting them into action.
