Balancing the spokes makes sense. This will add a fair bit of time though. Who's singing and why he isn't on the video?

This is the first youtube truing video I've seen where the mechanic makes the effort to balance crossing spokes' tension when making truing adjustments. Most videos show a guy just jumping on any spoke that happens to be on the side they need to draw the rim towards.

I wonder how many of them see what the wheel looks like after it's been ridden a fair bit. If they do, they probably just reach for the Loctite.
