Im ex army tanker....I drink too much beer, hate life, hate politics, hate my effin job....but damn I like this movie, and french kiss, and Michael, and phenomenon, and etc etc etc.... (ohhh, and Im straight...married with 3 kids) =D
Sometimes, when we are standing in the smoke and fire of Madison Avenue in the midst of yet another burning bridge...we realize we have long forgotten some of our most loyal supporters...Nightingale
I love this movie too...You kinda forget you are watching a movie and you actually get the feeling they are in love with each other. Wonderful performance by both of them.
This is a great scene but very unrealistic. How could she hear what President Shepherd and AJ were saying in the Oval Office? It's the Oval Office, that room is sound proof. It has to be with everything that goes on in there.
How about.... he's been on the phone to one of the secretaries outside demanding a car, she comes in, asks if the President is busy, the secretary says "no, he's trying to find a car he can drive himself", she guesses where he's aiming to go.
Or how about cos otherwise her entrance wouldn't have been so dramatic? lol
Hey..I'm a Filipina and i just love this movie. I feel that I am Sidney pursued and wooed at by the President! HAHAHAHA... the dvd i have doesnt play the last part--after the nice speech of the President. I couldnt seem to be getting the last scenes from youtube. Can anyone tell me where I can watch the whole episode in the internet?
Right around 0.44 is when I start choking up and crying. This is beautiful, man. BTW, Michael douglas was nominated for an Oscar for his role in this movie.
Me, around 0.38, when she shows up. This is one beautiful movie, which I wonder why it wasn't shown on TV on January 2009 (around the time of the President's Inauguration ceremony).
I love this movie too. Watched it many times, but get a good laugh when they talk about Dupont Circle and the Hill. If you are going to the Hill from the WH, you don't even go by Dupont Circle.
He was going to her apartment, not the Hill... also the director Rob Reiner visited the WH 5 times and got to follow President Clinton around for 2 days preparing to make this movie...so I'm sure he must have had a few nightmare experiences around Dupont :)
That's right. In this scene he was going to her apt. However, early in the movie, she made a comment about Dupont Circle and he responds "what were you doing up on the hill?"
Indeed, Dupont Circle is a nightmare. Done it many times.
This has to be my favorate scene in the entire movie. It always makes me cry no matter how many times I see it. I always loved the line "Sydney I didn't decided to send 455 to the floor to get you back, and I didn't come back because you sent 455 to the floor."
2:01 "excuse me Miss Wade"; this film is a gem!

I like the 'oxygen' comment too!
Great together. The dance scene on their first date is the best.
God I hate Richard Dryfuss. I think that is his real personality, a SOB

"Cindy, I didn't decide to send 455 to the floor to get you back."
"And I didn't come back because you sent 455 to the floor."
I like this movie, but I've never been able to get over how unromantic these lines sound. I guess it's "love Washington style".

... and around 1:45, the embrace. They know they NEED each other, and that hug and kiss says it louder and better than words.
