the second device is not necessary... there are many devices that can be used in place. Like an xbox 360 or PS3.... or if u have a newer model TV that connects to the internet.
Easy to see why u would think u need the second device.

Awesome product. I bought it. It is the simplest NAS I ever laid my hands on. Remote Access works like a charm. Hope they wont charge too much for it after a year :) I read it is 9.99$ in US. Anyone knows more?

This product is flawed. The indexing system does not work. the machine sits there for hours on end 'indexing'. It may find a few files , but these tend to disappear after a while. The cisco support forums are full with people that have the same problem. Support is inexistent for this product. Mayor black eye for cisco
