wen i run my legs flay out 2 the side like a chicken, as u can imagine this is very embaressing and makes me not want to run for fear of being laughed at, no matter how hard i try i cant change it and it just feels natural this slows me down and makes my soccer playing worse, anyone got any tips?? please respond ASAP
Dude ive played soccer for about 12 years and ive seen guys run like that and others didnt laugh at them mainly cuz they couldnt even catch up to them!lol
Dont let that keep you from reaching your full potential.. You can try forcing yourself to walk/run straight for awhile to try and disciple your legs and after awhile youll get use to it. I was pigeon toed and doing this helped me correct myself.! Best of luck ..
thanks pal i have just started running im 33 and i think my posture isnt right im also a bricklayer and stonemason so i cant afford a injury so i am going to give these a bash but im loving it so cheers
im tellin you guys....if u want to get FASTER at RUNNING then...RUN...it works...butt u knw how we like to find easy ways to get what we want...also try running up hills...stairs are okay until a certain point when your legs get used to it then it doesnt help anymore...hills are different...u dnt use the exact same techniuqe every time.if your trying to get faster for your 40's then...run 40's, thats porbly the best thing to do if u want to increase your 40.plus you'll also work on ur form.
Very good...I am currently recovering from a running injury, a stress fracture due to bad running posture. Now, I realize the importance of running right. I surely will incorporate it in my routine when I start running again. Thanks for posting this.
Hi kshtjjn1, I was run down by a car only four months before making this video. I broke three of my vertebrae. The medics said I will never do sports again! I came back stronger by incorperating these exercises. I'll post more for posture, balance, stability and strength after X-Mas. Small things = big effects. You'll be surprised. All the best and NEVER GIVE UP...!!!
thats good to hear - i have just backed out from having a decompression operation on 2 slipped discs and im going to try fixing myself with pilates. ill try these too!
Hi Jimma316, please check out my other video "From zero to hero" because those are very important for you, especially after disc problems!!! They are the base to the running exercises. With pilates is a very good combination. Good luck!
Hi eyshaney, you are totally right: go running. BUT the result is so much better when you do additional core training. I can tell you so because I run marathon in 2:22 H and am Spanish champion on the Ironman distance, qualified for Hawaii as well as European championships 2010 and if I not had done so much additional stability to the actual running, I would have never succeeded. Thanks for the comment. I will post some very cool trainings in four weeks time. Check it out! Foliflipper
o for sure. core is the most important for any sport. and ya, i can see how doing these exercises for balance would help. especially for long distance. u gota drill that perfect stride into u and be able to maintain it for the entire race to save energy. I'm assuming that last point, but definitely working on the fine details will improve your performance
Exercise 2 for stability si Cool... !! Thank you... To me stability is everything when running..

Interesting - some huge strides in there - I'm finding that it feels the more efficiently I run, the shorter the strides are and the less I bounce!

This is really helpful. I've started having significant heel pain on the left side and think it's because of bad technique. Thanks for sharing.
